- We will be moving onboard in the next few weeks and we need better storage for all our stuff! The original design had very few cabinets in the bedrooms and we have removed the old cabinets with a great idea to rebuild bigger and more functional storage dressers / cabinets in their place.

Man, I really wish I could get my kids onboard with a plan like this... I've been trying to convince my family to do this since 2011. My wife says not until the kids are gone.
I completely understand. Here’s the thing, you only live once and these have been INCREDIBLE family experiences. I highly recommend! if you want to do something you should start immediately and work towards it. Life has a way of getting in the way and creating reasons for you to abandon your dreams. I hope you get to do this though. Fair winds, Corey
In the future remember what cargo ships of old did to load and unload.
Move the main halyard to the aft end of the boom. Use the multiple purchase of the main sheet to lift and lower. Swing the boom port or starboard a needed. Easy-peasy.
Hi Nicholas! Thanks. I’ve seen this done and we will likely need to use this technique for larger heavier items! I appreciate the support! Cheers -Corey

Adam is correct about cats be too weighed down.
Lol.... we do need a place to keep our clothing.
Remember that drawers slide out if the boat heels at all. Some method of clip to stop drawers doing just that .
Hi Peter, we used ball bearing slides that have resistance when fully shut. You have to give them a gentle tug to open… If they do open freely while we are underway with rough seas I have a secondary plan to secure them for passage. However, you’re right, drawers would be a problem if you used different drawer slides. We’ll see how this goes.. 😊

Another great video! Happy Mother’s Day Becky!
Thank you!
Those cabinets are coming along nicely. Computers unfortunately dont last on boats. They rust out pretty quick from the salt air.
Yeah we’re worried about the salt air also.
You could have used a halyard to get the batteriets off the boat (but you have to carry them out off the cockpit anyway.
We thought about that however our boom is difficult to swing all the way over and we figured this would be simpler this time…. 😊
@@SaltyEscape I would do it without ising the boom.
Just the mail halyard into the batteries. One person at the whinch and one controlling the battery / halyard. Have used it to lager/ heavier tings. But hey, you got the job done :)
Yeah... We’ll keep this in mind. 😉
Happy mothers day to Becky! She has a couple of great kids and a good husband!
Love all the work you are putting into the boat. It will look great when you get finished!
Hi Ariana, Thank you! -Becky
Good job
Thank you! It’s coming along faster now! 😊
Wow! What a great video! I saw lots of progress, work, and fun! I look forward to seeing the next update.
Today, is Sunday, May 9th. Happy Mother’s Day to Becky!!!
Thank you!!
Make templates for odd shape partial bulkheads
Hi Peter, I still having tackled this room but I will soon and I will certainly be taking your advice! Thanks - Corey
Weight is everything when it comes to cats, hence the minimalist living. Just watch how much weight you add as this will effect the boat. Draws can be annoying especially if you forget to lock them while moving.
Thanks 😊. We’ve had several people write us to warn us about the weight. We’ve actually removed much more than we have added. Also, the opposite hull holds the batteries and electrical components, so we need to balance a little. Funny how no one mentioned weight as a worry when we were rebuilding the batteries with LiFePo4 and removed hundreds of pounds of lead acid deep cells... 🤷♂️ don’t worry, we are very much minimalists and very weight conscious. Cheers, Corey
You might research weight on this type of cat
We are actually removing much more weight than we have added. The lead batteries alone have removed hundreds of pounds. (We installed LiFePo4) 😊
i know you want all that storage for all your stuff , but watch your load. Cats hate being overloaded. and it's not just about making them slow. you will pay for all that weight with really awful sea motion. the kind that will have you puking. leave what you absolutely don't need behind. you asked why the designers didn't utilize the space for storage....that's why
We currently live in an RV, down sized years ago. Don’t worry, she won’t be overloaded however the cat is going to be our primary residence. We need some storage locations... originally there were almost none.
@@SaltyEscape you have 2 tons of load to work with. that includes food, water (100 gal is 800lbs) fuel (100 gallons is 700 lbs). your batteries (200lbs) . your solar (200 lbs), your inverter, your dingy and motor (300lbs?), your 4 people (300lbs). You see where this is going?
