i never understood when people (especially 2nd gen stans) would say “i missed when kpop was peaceful and every fandom got along” when that is a huge lie. fanwars have always been a part of the kpop community. atp i’d even say that it’s normalized which is sad, but at the same time, nobody cares enough to put a stop to it or call it out. you’d think that after all these years of going back and forth, people would get tired of constantly fighting damn near everyday but i get the feeling that the majority of kpop stans find entertainment in fanwars which is why it isn’t going to stop anytime soon. some y’all will sit on your devices all day just commenting or tweeting hate towards a group or idol just to purposely argue with people and it’s weird af. but the crazy thing is, a fanwar could start from the most harmless comment ever. someone could say “that hairstyle doesn’t suit xyz” and then all of a sudden you’ve got hundreds of people getting mad and trying to call your fave ugly then BOOM, before you know it a fanwar starts. now i’ve seen instances where fanwars have started for good reasons. such as falsely accusing an idol for something that we know for a fact they would never do, body shaming, making fun of mental health/death, etc. those types of things are crossing the line and whatever fandom condemns it (which lets be real, a lot of them do) they deserve to be dragged imo. but for all the unnecessary things y’all argue about like clothes, awards, looks, etc,…all that needs to end asap.

This is the reason why they deserve every success in their career. Girls' Generation faced so much hardship and criticism when they debuted. I am just so proud that they took their experience and made it into an encouragement to strive harder. They worked so hard into becoming the artists that they are now. They didn't just built a successful career, they made a legacy and that legacy will forever live on. Girls' Generation is not just a kpop group, they are the representation of empowered women. They built a generation for girls. They paved so many ways and opened so many doors for girl groups. They are not just artists, they are a legendary group of girls who inspires and encourages so many young and upcoming idols. They are passionate and they love what they do, that is why they are successful. Fanwars existed in 2nd Gen but it didnt blow up until 3rd Gen. SNSD was asked what they thought about 3rd Gen now that Kpop has become a battlefield, and they answered very diplomatically. I returned to Kpop recently so I missed 3rd Gen, and I was amazed at the amount of hate and fighting that is occurring. I once wrote "Rose is a great singer", and then some Blink replied "Its Rosé or Rosie, get it right next time B***H!" I was like "wow ok psycho", but you see and feel that everywhere. People brought up the black ocean even years after as one of the fandom's most painful memories. Looking back, I don't know how SNSD got past all that hate unscathed because it was so much. A black ocean is genuinely one of the most heartbreaking things in kpop. You have to be vile to participate in it. I’ve been to kcon and other kpop concerts and I have, and always will, waved my lightstick for every single performer. Even if I didn’t like them. Because at the end of the day, I don’t have to like but I do have to respect them. Turning off your lightstick is huge disrespect. If you’re a kpop stan you KNOW what all of these groups have to go through to get to where they are. They all deserve a bright ocean.

It will only get worse if the authorities or/and the companies doesn’t do anything about this. Honestly sometimes I think that the companies just do whatever the fans want and not what the idols want. The thing is that they don’t even take a lesson of all the idols that committed suicide too. People don’t realise how dark the K-pop industry is, it would look all glittery, shiny and beautiful on one side but when you look from the other side it is just plain inhuman, all the pain, suffering and constantly forcing yourself to fit a certain standard etc.

Damn ELFs are absolutely THE WORST and one of the most toxic fandoms ever!!!! I started stanning SuJu back in 2009 and they were the 1st Kpop group I've loved. However, over the time I started to realize how ridiculous, disrespectful and immature the fandom truly is and I left the whole fandom all together. I vividly remember back in 2010 there were at least 20 pages on FB that I only knew off dedicated to photo-shopping the most horrible pics of SNSD members. Calling them horrendous names and one of the pages was named "Antis of the 9 COWS" !!!! And when Suju and snsd made commercials together for the brand SPAO elfs went CRAAAAZYYYYY with their hate and horrible comments.
They were also fighting basically any other fandom that comes their way. They had fanwars with VIPs and Hottests (2pm fans), but the biggest one was with EXOLs
I remember when EXO first debuted ELFs arranged events in specific times to go leave hate comments on EXO teasers and vids. Saying that EXO copied Suju's concept (which is absolutely ridiculous and SO NOT TRUE ... DUH), and they even went to the point to being extremely happuly and festive when Kris left EXO and they were basically praying for EXO disbanding.
I couldn't handle all the hate and meanness in that horrible fandom and I stopped stanning Suju all together in 2014.
O now when people say things like "Oh I miss the 2nd gen days when there were no fanwars" I be like YEAH RIGGGGHT !!!

Some of these “fans” need to get a slap back to reality and to get a grip. I’m not out for those who genuinely like kpop and respect the idols, respect other people’s opinions, and aren’t obsessed stalkers who act like they are gonna date these idols even tho they aren’t, and don’t agree that kpop idols should not date and be skinny as a twig. Like I love kpop songs but the fact that this community can’t even be stable is just hard to stand with, and the fact these idols are real people just makes it worse as it’s not even fiction that we’re dealing with and people actually do get affected. 😐
