Motorized Snow Vehicle - Build

- Winter in Poland, and especially in our regions (Bieszczady Mountains) can be burdensome, so we decided to make a vehicle that will be able to move on snow.
Please bear with us, because we don't have much experience in building vehicles and we couldn't predict everything.
We used the basic elements from the ATV 125.
The engine is with an automatic gearbox and unfortunately it is a bit weak as you can see in the video. Top speed is no more than 50 km/h, 30 mph.
The skis are made of stainless steel, so they should last a long time.

Pretty cool. I think I would change a couple of things and add a set of skis on the front much wider than the unit. Then I would remove the side skis and put in a set of foot rests much higher open or enclosed. A set of brakes on the rear tires and you are golden. Also homemade ski need to have the ribbed thing going down the middle that helps skis track in the snow.
Good job,but it needs a carbide runner going down the center of the front ski to keep it tracking and steering straight, it will stop the front from drifting

I love it but think the front ski needs a stronger mount. Also if you put a piece of round steel rod on the bottom of the ski it may steer better.
I'm thinking regular sking skis cut down, or old water skis. Cheap from second hand stores and easy to replace when they wear out.
With a added snow deflector.
Buy a set transfer punches. It sure beats the blue marker.
This is fun winter ride.

Needs carbides on the ski, so u can steer. Cool project!
Just love how you bang out projects! Like others have said-a pair of dual skis set wide up front, plus better stability, and a change of foot position or simple 'spray cover'; and a rack.
Looks like something "Make it Extreme" would build as well. Wonderful work!
You may also need to find a color you like and paint all the stuff you made with it.

Add a keel to the bottom of the skis, you'll have better control.

The front "steering ski" is either flat and wide for deep snow, or long and thing for speed. And the blade needs to be
You need to add a V-shape so that it digs into the snow and "bites" betteré
A Good way is to take a small peice of angle iron and weld it onto the base of the ski
It's also worth adding a handle to the front ski when you get stuck and need to pull it out of the snow.
The 2 side skis are a good idea since you're using wheels but the snow that gets accumulated under means too much weight is up front or near the center of the bike.
Move the skis back towards the wheels and add foot rest instead, like a motorcycle.

OK Awesome build going to try and make this with wheel in front cause so hard to get around the farm this wood help alot to get around so ya got my vote thks for sharing your project with us keep making projects like this makes us Old guys still get around lm 65 and like to be outside alot even though my legs and feet don't got bad heart too so ya make it look easy so keep ya posted just looking for motor and will be able to start building this it's little chilly here minus 35 in Canada SK 🇨🇦 brrr stay warm
Mad but fun, like all good ideas.
Try pattering the curve of your skis after real skis with more of a gentle curve at the front.
Also think about adding a down facing ridge on the sides of steering ski. this will help to lift up the front and help with steering.

Very nice vehicle and build! I just suggest bigger skates and mainly an engine with more power. Have you think about a 2-stroke engine for this application? With more power and less weight should work better!
