Just bought a 2024 3, turbo. Never had radar assist cruise control before w/ traffic jam assist. Coming from a '07 Honda, Accord, I never had anything before, technology wise 😆. I've only had car for a week, haven't checked out owner's manual yet but after watching your video, I feel I'll have no prob. being comfortable using this feature now. Thank you 👍

Bought a 3 Skyactiv a couple of weeks ago after my 14 year old BMW 1 burst into flames when my wife was dropping me off at the local hospital, so not used to so many buttons and features, but now getting used to it and really enjoying it and the only thing I was a bit confused about are the things your video explained so well.

Just bought a cx30 manual transmission. From a 20 year old Hyundai. One thing I noticed is how fast it gets without very little effort. This feature is so helpful to keep to the speed limit. I love the blind spot monitoring and reverse parking camera. I wish I got the vision technology. It’s a super fun car to drive. The navigation is very good as well. Doesn’t give you as much information such as Waze but it gets you to A to B quickly. The HUD is amazing. Mine reads traffic signs and speed limits. I have no doubt the engine could go to 100mph without an issue. It barely notices 50mph. It’s thirsty but it’s a lovely ride. Just got some sheepskin covers which just makes it even more comfy. Got to get the windows tinted soon. Thanks for video

Very nicely done video. I watched all of it, beginning to end, by which time I felt very familiar with the system. I just bought a 2020 Mazda 3, but your car has more features than mine. Also, it was a real SHOCK for me when that idiot cut you off. You have extremely good reflexes.
I've gotten used to using cruise control on expressways in my previous car, but I know nothing about the additional options you have. My car is a "Select", which is missing many options.
I wish my car had a front-facing camera, but I'm stuck with what I've got.

It wont do lane centering, but there is lane assist if you are drifting out of the lane for whatever reason. Cruise control in the 2023 will slow and eventually completely stop in traffic, but will not resume until you touch the gas pedal from my experience.

I found that it's best to set your speed five miles an hour faster than the speed limit if you are behind someone with the following distance at it farthest otherwise you'll find yourself going far below the speed limit. Also, I self break when using the cruise control on surface streets because the times I tried letting the car stop itself at red lights it nearly rear ended the car in front of me several times.

Eddiecarbajal6707 That is a great tip! To set 5mph faster than the car you following. Just picked up a 24’ Cx50 turbo meridian today. I liked the
225/60/R18” ride much more than the 20’s they eat up the anomalies in a the roads better. W/ the Variable cruise Mazda seriously caters to drivers that want the continuous forward momentum while changing lanes (a must use turn signal built in for safety) rather than breaking the flow they’ve established by getting stuck behind a bread trucks etc. That is only achieved if you’re paying attention for open road spaces that reveal themselves Zoom zoom boomer.

I assume that's an automatic cuz otherwise you have to manually change gears and then activate the cruise control.
I only ever used it on highway cuz there you are going at high speeds and its easier to just let the car keep the chosen speed.
From time to time an orange wheel pic would show up and I was wondering/guessing if its the car steering to keep me between the lines centered.
The line alert is kinda annoying but since the way I drive mazda is different from my previous vehicle I am keeping it on but I am not sure why it doesnt activate sometimes.
Maybe if I slowly cross over the line the system alerts me but if I go over it quickly the system thinks I want to do it and it doesnt come on.

Progressive insurance has a Snapshot status monitor ios app. It reports hard breaking incidents when MRCC Stop and Go is controlling the car. Is there a way to change when stop and go decides to apply the breaks at a greater distance cause it does indeed hard break.

I make sure to reduce the set speed to no more than 10mph higher than the speed of traffic. Otherwise the car is too eager to accelerate at the slightest opening which is too aggressive. I also don’t fully trust the car to stop because 7/10 times it brakes as expected but 3/10 times it doesn’t feel like it’s going to make the stop. Wish the camera worked with radar to detect brake lights so the car would anticipate stops more readily. Otherwise RCC is a dream on long road trips with light to moderate traffic

This is the problem. If you can’t fully rely on it then what’s the point. Best to treat the cruise control like the old fashion standard cruise control and brake yourself. Also only use it on big highways, freeways, tollways. Not on normal roads like in this video.

A Kia or Hyundai or Genesis with Highway Driving Assist will get itself moving if it's been stopped for 30 seconds or less. Tesla's autopilot is more flexible, but also the subject of several lawsuits right now so I'll leave that alone. I have not yet tried GM's Super Cruise or Ford's Blue Cruise though.
