As opposed to the usual lyrics that everyone seems to hear because it sounds VAGUELY like English: "Isengard descend, all honour him, our lord of ruin - King Sauron leads in Mordor." (In the third verse, swapped out around 1:38 for "King Sauron leads and seizes all rule in Mordor.")
This sounds like the armies of hell descending upon the earth. I love it! Even the weird ass bugle just dicking about feel like they’re taunting the opposing army.
I was high off of my ass watching this one time and I woke up from a nap during the start of the helms deep fight and seeing the red filter, the banners, glowing white eyes, and chanting I thought I was seeing hells army attacking. Best scary greening out I've experienced
Say what you will about the Jackson films, but for an animated adaptation, this was one hell of an EPIC battle scene. Everything about it was absolutely amazing.
@@tex3835 Kind of an unfair comparison. Bakshi had a budget of about $4m (equivalent to around $10M in 2001), whereas Jackson had a budget of just under $300M.
I don't know what it is, but deep, resonating voices and epic chants just give me the chills and gets me choked up. There's just such a presence and weight to it, it's just so impressive, it's hard to describe. But I love it! :D
This worked very well in the animated one. It felt creepy and very opressing. You could feel the trheat the Uruk-Hai represented. I kind of missed it in the live action. But I know it wouldn't have worlked that well and would have ended being too hammy. Still the idea that the Uruk-Hai would sing a battle song prqaing Isengad and Sauron while marching into battle is kind of in line with Tolkiens work of song establishing things in the world.
Tolkien never created a complete set of grammar rules for his languages with the exception of Elvish. The Black Speech that Orcs use in the Peter Jackson movies is 75% made up.
It's the Isengard national anthem! Epic chant, I like that fact that it's just enough in rhythm to sound good. Otherwise, it's exactly the music orcs would sing.
If you type the words backwards, you get this: "Dragnesi dnecsed, lla ronoh mih, ruo dlor fo niur. Gnik noruas, seh ni Rodrom!" (Isengard descend, All honour him, Our lord of ruin, King Sauron Leads in Mordor!")
"The words Isengard, Mordor, and Sauron can be clearly discerned. The song is not in any of Tolkien's invented languages, instead composer Leonard Rosenman had his choir sing nonsense lyrics to get the desired effect. According to the liner notes of the CD soundtrack, part of the lyrics also include the composer's name backwards."
AAAAAAALLLLLLRIGHT LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! Hear we are at the 22nd Anual Olympic Games! Hear hosting in the nation of Mordor, the Orcs Goblins and Men of Mordor are now rising for the National Anthem! A relic from the time of Sauron folks!
Originally there was supposed to be a part 2 but the studio wouldn't finance it after they felt the first part didn't make enough money . It did make a profit but not enough in their eyes .
Fun fact: the lyrics for this song are a made-up language created by Leonard Rosenman. He even used his own name backwards as part of the lyrics. There actually is no English translation for what the chorus is singing. That being said, this is an extremely creepy piece of film music. I think it's fair to say Rosenman's music is easily the best thing about Bakshi's film.
Because they were orcs in everything but name. Really stupid to do, since they had elves and dwarves. Might as well have orcs and goblins too, instead of 'darkspawn' that aren't actually distinct from orcs anyway.
@Dark Lord Sauron I am thinking about creating a Warcraft3 map about the great battle in the end of the first age. And don't forget to watch my youtube video content. I consider that version of ROTK a "kiddified" version of the story. I do like how the Orcs were humanized, though. Made me think that they might not be so bad if they could get free of Sauron's influence.

Animated adaptations are always the way to go for fantasy stories. Live action cannot (and honestly should not be allowed to) compete.
