    Even without the DLC Mass Effect 2 expanded the ME galaxy to unimaginable level. I actually like the idea, that you have to explore various planets, green or sandy, and visit dirty Omega quarters and shiny Illium, while also beating up some pirates and freaky husks and bug-like Collectors, - all in one story with this Kasumi "James Bond" stylized mission, where you explore the luxurious apartments on Bekenstein, while guests - celebrities, artists, rich, diplomats, whatever - in extravagant costumes are on the terrace, unsuspecting, that something is happening - and you are part of it.

    This piece is rife with the tradgic romance and veangful resolve of Kasumi, along with a hint of the mercurial. It's a triumph, as is the DLC. "What did you tell your friend, Kasumi? That you're doing this for love?"

    i loved her loyalty mission. that's what mass effect should be about. not running around different planets or doing stupid side missions. her loyalty mission was by far the best. the one where you go and take out that guy flying that huge plane, etc. all the shooting. i loved that part. I'll miss Kasumi.

      In itself it would not be an impossible idea, given how we know the Protheans experimented with the Asari, I could easily see them take a sample-group of humans from Earth, place them on another Garden world, mutate some of them into dwarves and elves and Qunari, and generally buttsex science in the rear by making them agreeable with Lyrium.

    I've always thought that Kasumi as a character didn't fit in as a squadmate on a strike op mission. If you look at all other squadmates, all of them were recruited for having combat skills. Mordin is ex-STG, Miranda and Grunt were genetically engineered to be operatives and super soldiers, Jack was intended to be a biotic soldier, Thane is a skilled killer, Zaeed is a soldier, Samara is a warrior, Archangel is known as a small unit tactician, so is Jacob. Tali is a tech, but one who is sent on ground ops, while Legion is a geth trooper with sniping ability. Kasumi is just a thief. Why include her as a squadmate on what is explicitly a direct action strike mission? She could have been better used as a background NPC who acquired things for you while you and your squad fought through the various missions.

      "Just a thief" who can jump on a gunship while dodging its shot or punch an armored man so hard she can break his spine.

    • @brainconqueror8095
      @brainconqueror8095 Před 7 lety

      That whole "Only Kasumi can take down the gunship's shields by jumping onto it" seems bogus to me. Why wouldn't the Arc Projector or Collector Particle Beam be just as effective in bringing down its shields? They worked fine for that self repairing Colosus. And as for breaking a guy's spine, that is still weaker than warping him, throwing him, slamming him, reaving him, incinerating him, shooting his head off, or shooting him point blank with a shotgun.

    • @Vanzgars
      @Vanzgars Před 7 lety +3

      BrainConqueror80 "Why wouldn't anything else work on the gunship's shields" is another discussion.
      The fact is that Kasumi did manage to jump on it while it was firing at her.
      And in fact, no, her spine-breaking punches are not weaker. They are actually as strong as all those things you mentioned. What the others need powers and weapons to do, Kasumi can do it bare-handed, as long as she takes her target by surprise.

    • @brainconqueror8095
      @brainconqueror8095 Před 7 lety

      I crunched the numbers off the game's wiki, and Shadow Strike is a tad bit weaker than Throw and Slam. It also doesn't have the ability to cause splash damage like the other powers can, as a combo detonation. Nor can it strip defenses. As for comparing melee strikes vs ranged weapons, that tactical debate was settled hundreds of years ago when gunmen mowed down swordsmen. Kasumi makes sense as an NPC who assists you, she wouldn't be someone I'd take into combat, not when other squadmates are more tactically versatile.
