Jordan, every time you post a video it gets more interesting. Can hardly believe the ice team is having to make their own ice, but just fascinating. I will appreciate every ice show on board even more! Thank you so much for sharing! ❤
appreciate your support ❤️
The way I GASPED when y'all were saying you might have to re-do the ice. Hope it works out, seems like a very tedious process.
the stress is real😅
Can't believe you had no ice engineer there to make the ice! It's crazy you were left to do it yourselves.
The ice is probably cracking because the machines were turned up high to freeze the ice quickly. We used to flood it with a layer of water and give it plenty of time to freeze. More than 20 mins between flooding it.
DW about it cracking. It'll be fine once it's at its proper thickness and normal temperature I'm sure 😊
Hope rehearsals are going well! 💖🏴⛸️
we wait 20 mins between flooding! chief ref just set temp too low too fast.. we fixed it though :)
I also think it's crazy that you had to help make the ice. The routine looks awesome, and can't wait to see a glimpse of your solo.
But if they’re going to be using it and their safety depends on good ice I can see how’d they want to be involved. I think on a cruise ship you wear a lot of different hats
cant wait to share it!
Jordan - you are killing it with these videos! With all you have going on, it is astonishing you have time to film and edit such high-quality videos. And it is so interesting to see how ice installation and your learning process goes for your contract! Thank you so much!
I do my best! time management is super important to me so I can get these videos up for you all to enjoy ❣️
Hey there Jordan. Just back from the late ice show on voyager (20th of april) and both me and my wife loved the show! Big shout out to the complete cast and triple that to you of course! Good luck with the ice and the show! Loved to be able to enjoy you enjoying skating live! Much 💕 from us!
so happy to hear you enjoyed! ❤️
Thanks for bringing us into your crazy, water spraying, ice making life on a ship! I love it and it makes me appreciate all the hard work each employee does! I truly had no idea you guys do so much! Happy Skating
thanks kristin 🥰
I love the sound of the blades on the ice.
meee toooo
New ice? A new experience for all of us !! Luv watching ur rehearsals…. Thank you ☺️
That’s crazy that you had to make your own ice. I would have thought it was a more automated process. Or a technician’s job
All the crew have multiple job's, work extremely hard ie muster drill, spot light , frie watch and even then have to clean their room . How Jordan finds time to vlog, edit and interview others is amazing. ⛸🙆♀️👏👏👏
I'm really surprised there's no ice engineer there tbh! That should be their job, not the skaters.
I've helped make the ice on a tank before (tank is what you call a portable rink), but only because I volunteered to help the ice engineer. We didn't have a Zamboni. Everything was done by hand....clearing the ice with large scrapers and wetting it with a large hose attached to a t-shaped wooden frame, with cloth along the bottom to act like a Zamboni wetting the ice. It worked great! Ice was always excellent. The skaters didn't do that tbh. Stage workers and the engineer did it.
There is a ice tech , the issue is the ship is a return to service not a normal regular maintenance. He was probably doing the night shifts ? The production cast are the stage workers for the ice cast and the ice cast are the stage workers for the production cast .🤷♂️all work work work .
Loved this video so much. It was fun to see all the hard work behind the scenes.
Great video! Everyone is looking so good on the (slightly umperext) ice.
Jordan, several cruises back we were taking a behind the scenes tour of the ship. When in Studio B, the cast member showing us around pointed out a black disc-shaped object at center ice under the ice and asked if anyone knew what that was? Of course, no one did. She told us that prior to laying down the ice, all of the cast members placed a coin or some other personal memento in a thin, round canister and placed it under the ice at center ice. I wonder do ice casts still do this?
yes! coins are quite common 😇
The install / rehearsal process is fascinating. Thanks so much!
Thank you for sharing your journey with us! So glad that things are coming together for you. Good luck with the ice.
thanks 😇
Looks like the ice is fine. Looking forward to seeing more of your vlogs and your signature spins.
Thanks for another great video. When I am having a bad day I can watch one of your videos and it makes me feel better. Keep living your dream and remember to always have fun.
the footage of you guys learning your show was fasinating to me.
So glad you didn't have to redo the ice ⛸️. Loving your vlogs. Stay safe
Loved this video. Looking forward to more vlogs on your new ship - the voyager of the seas!
Hopefully now your sailing more your wifi will hopefully improve, Loved this video and I could watch more behind the scenes stuff like that.
hoping so too! 🤞🏼
Great video! Just realized I hadn't finished watching until now! Bummer about the ice cracking first! A little nerdy techie info. Ice in skating rink for figure skating is between 24 and 29 degrees Fahrenheit. Makes the ice slightly snowy when skate cut into the ice. Hockey ice is a little colder and makes it skate faster.😊
I am a veteran Theatre Performer, dir, and choreographer in the Philippines. I am used to the whole process of putting up a show, BUT WOW! I am so amazed at what you have been sharing about putting together an ice show. First off, you are amazing!!! Absolutely brilliant!! Love love love watching your rehearsal videos on ice! You spins?!! 💯 And now, rehearsing your routine from ground to ice!! I love it!! Thanks for sharing all of these with us 😊💕
i appreciate this SO incredibly much! thank you 🥰

I absolutely love love your videos!! Its so cool to see a day in your life, You are an amazing skater!! I really appreciate the fact that you take time to bring us along on your adventures!!
appreciate this so much :)
I’ve been binge watching your videos whilst isolating 💙 love love love your content 👏🏼
feel better 😊
As a former figure skater, I absolutely LOVE watching you skate. I miss skating more than anyone knows and I hope to someday come back to it. The sound of the blades on the ice, there's nothing like it. The smell of the ice, God I miss that. I love how fierce you are on the ice, I was always too anxious to show any emotion when I skated.
❤️ skating is life!!
I knew nothing about skating before Jordan. I love finding out how you miss so many things about it. For me this is how I feel about my swimming career. Competition makes some hearts sing.
Truly enjoying your behind-the-scenes videos! Just watching you practicing your routines made me exhausted! :)
hahahahaha they’re definitely whipping me into shape😅
That sunset was gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing!! Also I had to smileys referred to soda as pop. I am from ohio and that's what we called it but NC calls it soda
I love your videos so much! Out of curiosity, how many hours a day do you typically spend working? I’m sure it fluctuates on the day, but I am so impressed with how you manage to work so much and have time to film/edit videos so frequently
depends day to day! on average probably 6/7
I love watching you skate and admire your talent! Loved the music you chose while doing the spraying for the ice. Can you share what song it was? Can’t wait until the next blog. Thank you for letting us see all you do.

I honestly can’t remember but it’s one of the songs linked😅 so sorry!
PAPOV ...you have it in your links as always...🚀🌜🚀🌎♥️
@@jbauth sorry I must have not checked.
@@peterd8817 I was mistaken it was the song when skating but only the first link plays.
Omg, the cracking ice!! Glad you didn't have to redo it!!! Can't wait to see your solo 🤩
cheers 🥂
OMGGGG I got so worried when you said you were afraid of ice & your insurance wasn’t up to date. Girl don’t scare me like that. Also when you were saying that you had to fill the ice yourself, I was like don’t they have people for that😂😂
Very cool (excuse the pun!) to see how the ice is made. Well Gab...cracked ice or skating with a puppet attached to your foot? LOL! Your cabin keeps getting better, now you have a tv mounted at the foot of your bed! Can't wait to see your solo! (And...nice beard, Pasha!)
Oh my gosh!!! I’m early!! Love your vids!!! Im boarding in June as Cruise Staff and your videos have been hyping me
Its great to see the process of how you put the show together from scratch. Do you get to use the areas on the shop before you get passengers, like the pool or is it to cold were you are.
we didn’t because it was so cold! but other guest areas yes 😉
i really love this... so did you ever find out why the ice was doing what it was doing?
chief ref said the temperature was set too low too fast, should’ve been more gradual
That looks like a more challenging choreography 😳 it looks fun though for sure lol
I know you are working super hard, but please get as much rest as possible. I would hate for you to get run down or sick. Thanks for sharing this Birdseye view of your Shipboard life. Hugs from Houston.
appreciate your concern so much, this is very kind ❤️
It seems like you are having a lot of fun! Especially watering the floor
having so much fun here!!
You and Gabe are a great team, always energetic and fun.
we are, we have the best time together 😊
Good morning Jordan happy Tuesday morning and I just wanted to say that your vlogs makes me feel happy and I enjoy your channel because you are sweetheart because you are amazing Supporter
Loved this one so much!! Lol… between Willy and the Jeb Rand shows I’ve done, making that initial ice base is ALWAYS a challange. I just got to Copenhagen yesterday an we’re starting out load in tomorrow for the “Werq The World” tour. Today is just running around the city getting materials, then rigging tomorrow, rehearsal the next day then opening!! I’ll try and get pictures to send to your IG :-) Have a great run on board!
Thanks for a great video sad about the ice let’s hope it can be saved rest up bless you cannot wait for your next video x
Welcome back great to see you on board
Your focus face gave me life haha
🤣😂
Probably a super silly question... could you possibly use a torch or heat gun and spot melt only the cracked areas? Hope it all works out!
Glad you didn’t have to start over on the Ice. The blades sounded cool on the ice.
😇
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ great behind the scenes episode!
Love watching your videos and what goes into the makings of an ice show at sea. Very interesting and enjoyable to watch. Love those white sneakers you had on. What brand are they? I need those. Can't wait for your next video.
This is so exciting. I look forward to the day I can safely feel confident that I can cruise 🚢 again.
Loving the content.
If you had liquid water underneath the ice, you could stock the rink with fish and have ice fishing when you're not skating. Kind of short-sighted of the cruise line not to include that option, don't you think?
You go girl... I've become a new runner!
WOWWWW Forgot how good you are on actual ice!!
thank you!
You must be from northern New York! I’m from Michigan and I’m not kidding when I say when I heard you say pop I’m like omg you didn’t say soda lol
When will you guys get passengers? If possible maybe bring this up in your next video. Great job.
Great video,J! Thanks!!
loved this!!!
thanks boo
The flash of hgtv threw me for a loop! I was like wait who’s kitchen is that?! 😂😂 at first I didn’t realize it was a clip of the tv screen! Oops! 😅
How long do you have to wait in putting down another layer of water? I wondered approx how many layers of water will make up the ice? What kind of music do you like? Thanks for another great video & for taking us along.
Hope the ice is fine. One question, how many understudy roles do you have to learn? BTW love your videos, thanks for sharing so much
I have to know both girl understudies and I also learned the 1 boys track while we didn’t have a cast member to fill!
It's really cool (lulz) to see this process, thanks for sharing it with us! Would this normally be done using the Zamboni?
Since you grew up in the frozen north, they should have put you in charge of making the ice.
Do you put paint on it?
Done it several times on regulation hockey rinks.
We enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing. Rob
Amazing vlog Jordan
the focus face LMAOOO literally me
I have done a full ice make more than once here, lol
Love your videos! ☺️💖
You are amazing!!! Quick question, are all of your current skate mates professional skaters? If not, how many are there?
I think if you are getting paid you are considered a professional, or at least in their case they are?
yes we all are, if we are paid for skating job then we are considered professional
@@msfeistybabe thank you!
@@jbauth thank you!
What an interesting process to make the ice. I thought a machine would be used.
me too!! i learned so much
Do u get like muscle cramps because of working out? And what is your remedy if you do, btw love your videos!
not usually! but I always stretch after a workout
@@jbauth thank you!! 😊
The cramp ons!
So I have a question going forward are the skaters responsible for maintaining the ice throughout the contract?
nope! it’s PM and stage staff duty
@@jbauth oh,good,I was just curious! Thanks
I know people use cardboard to fill seats for the environment but usually the cardboard is cut out but just gigantic boxes.
Love the comment about wi-fi. Paid 350$ for an internet package that was horrible on Oasis of the Seas. I DON'T recommend the internet packages on RC ships. Not worth the $$$. Inconsistent service, bandwidth issues, loss of signal, and employees told me it was a waste of money. How did your internet packages fair?? Who has the best internet @ sea?
and can you believe that the guest wifi is 10x better than the bandwidth allotted for crew!? so imagine our struggle 😅 it is ridiculous lol
As always, love the video! This makes a few times now that you have shown us the inputting of your hours on Kronos. That got me curious, are you paid a salary or are you paid by the hour?
Keep up the great work!!! Show looks like it will be fantastic!
I have a salary! we just have to log on kronos as per company requirement 😊
Ice is fine !
Expansion crack, looks like to thick to fast of build up.
Agreed. The machines being turned up high to help it freeze faster will add to that too.
Just curious do the ice shows stay on the same ship a long time, or rotate between ships?!? Is it a while before something new happens?!?
Very interesting, well done…
Wonderful video!
Beautiful video
Are the guests on the cruise allowed to use the ice or is it just for shows?
They have open hours for ice skating for the guests! Speaking as a cruiser.
I’m just at the part where you are talking about the ice being ready for you……I’m assuming you are all good because this was maybe days before we are seeing it?
If we weren't so slow, I'd invite you to run with my wife and I when we are in Canada...
BTW, when do you add the music to the rehearsals?
So cool!!!!
What are the big boxes sitting on the chairs? Time stamp 16 mins
air filters for the ship.. super random😂
I am suprised they don’t have a company that puts the ice on the rink
I probably missed it, but do you get to eat the same things guests eat or do you have like a crew cafeteria where you get your meals?
we have a crew mess! we were only in windjammer while no guests were onbosrd
How does the understudy system work?
You said pop, not soda. Definitely a Buffalo term. Get a Pop from Tops (went to UB so I understand).
yesss 716!
Lol, you don’t think the wife can be any worse you say. Try the non-high speed wife. Very good comparison to the old dial up. Horrible. We will be pinnacle by the 8th of May. One of the benefits is free high speed Wi-Fi. HUGE. The crew is looking good, keep at it. 👍
The wife? Lol
No damn autocorrect lol
That sound dial-up used to make just sets your teeth on edge, eh?! 😖🤣
Linda, you are so right
I love your videos so much. You are such a sweetie
thanks 😇
Sorry, not sorry,my third comment. Now I want to go on a cruise to see this beautiful dance.
What happens if you get hurt? Like temporarily or badly? Does your contract end?
we have understudies if we’re injured/sick or if it’s long term then we would have to potentially be signed off early
You should have skate in cracked ice its very dangerous. Also insurance policy wont cover because you went in knewing.
Bit of a random question, but of course understudies are completely normal, but what would happen if most of your cast got covid again? Would you still have to isolate, or not because your vaccinated and/or had it previously?
we still would have to isolate! hoping it doesn’t happen again
I hope you didn’t have to redo the ice! Since it’s hard to practice without ice!
luckily it stayed ok and didn’t cause us more problems!
Why do they make you guys do that?
There's obviously no ice engineer there, which I'm really surprised at!!
no way am I this early!!! Hi!!
