    I got the large injector from Hoss about a month ago and my garden has blown up after a couple feedings. Great product.

      Hmmmm.... Interesting thought.
      I may check with HOSS to see what they do.
      I think it desolves well enough so it won't clog the filter, but thanks for bringing it to my attention.

      @@BIGALTX I'm running an inline ceramic filter on my system to remove the chlorine. It would probably stick it completely full in seconds and I can't clean them. It looks like you are running something like a 20 micron spin down type screen filter that just eliminates particulates so that you don't get clogged emitters.

    • @kevin_raney
      @kevin_raney Před 4 lety +1

      I run my filter after injector, but it doesn't take much to clog a drip tape. Your mileage may vary based on your drop emitters.

    Can you also try the Hoss brass siphon fertigator and see if it will send the 20-20-20 through the irrigation system?

    • @BIGALTX
      @BIGALTX  Před 7 měsíci

      I don’t have one, but I have no doubt it would work on that. I think I’ve seen the Hoss boys use it in the past. I think it’s made for any type of soluble fertilizer, such as the
      20 - 20-20.

  • @gregr5
    @gregr5 Před 4 lety

    I have one and it works well, but I can't use it for everything. The way I'm set up, all of my drip tape/emitters are on one circuit. But not all of my plants have the same needs. So I have to just use it for the lowest denominator. I can use it for BT soil drenches, microbe inoculations, and any feeding that every plant can use, but I then have to give the nitrogen hungry plants their own drinks. A little bit of extra work but at least I'm not hand feeding everything.....

    • @BIGALTX
      @BIGALTX  Před 4 lety

      I understand.
      Next year, I will group my containers together.
      Each type of container DOES have different needs

    I have a 20-20-20 jacks fertilizer. Not sure what the product to water dilution rate should be. Any tips?

    • @BIGALTX
      @BIGALTX  Před 3 lety

      It should have directions on the container. (probably one TBS per gallon)
      If you are using a fertilizer injection system like I used here, I would say use 2 cups in the injector.
      It's pretty hard to burn plants with water soluble fertilizer.

    If you put calcium nitrate in this make sure it's disolved before using. It needs to be shaken to get it all disolved.

    Nice video, I have learned a lot from your channel. How do you calculate the amount of 20-20-20 and Microboost for your containers? I have a container garden also and this looks like a good way to feed it.

    • @gregr5
      @gregr5 Před 4 lety +1

      I'm sure he will have a better answer, but the unit comes with a chart that tells you how many gallons of water will empty the container at a specific flow setting. For example, on "slow", it might be 800 gallons and on "fast" it might be 300 gallons (it is dependent on whether you get the 3/4, 1, or 2 gallon size feeder). If you use that much water, you would just add enough fertilizer to go with that. Otherwise, if you run for half an hour and use 100 gallons at a watering, adjust the strength to get the concentration you want per gallon and only let it run for a set time. You will have extra in the container that you can use next time. Not an exact science unfortunately. I'm still getting used to it.
      But I'm sure there is a better way and I'd love to hear it!

      I wish I could tell you I do a huge amount of math and come up with a formula.
      But, I hate math :)
      I do the 1000 SQ FT rule.
      Most fertilizers will give you a formula for 1000 SF.
      On my containers, I just give about 2 pounds of the 20-20-20 water soluble for 18 blackberry containers, and about 14 tomato and pepper containers.... AND 12 Fruit Tree containers... AND... 9 fruit trees that are in the ground.
      Considering all that is on the system, 2 LBS may not enough :)

  • @S.A.7891

    This system doesn’t need an electrical pump?

    • @BIGALTX
      @BIGALTX  Před 3 lety

      No, the water running through the hose creates a suction that pulls the fertilizer through the hose.

  • @jlurch1
    @jlurch1 Před 3 lety

    Does this work with a flow regulator for the drip system? Also do you know if this works with over 100 of line?

    • @BIGALTX
      @BIGALTX  Před 3 lety

      Yes, you'll need the flow regulator.
      I'm not sure the amount of line it will feed, but I think it's in the hundreds of feet.

    • @jlurch1
      @jlurch1 Před 3 lety

      @@BIGALTX does this go down line or up line to the flow regulator?

    • @BIGALTX
      @BIGALTX  Před 3 lety

      The Injector is AFTER the regulator.
      This is how I have mine rigged:
      Faucet, Timer, Regulator, Injector, Filter, Exit hose (Mainline) to crops.
      I guess you could install the Injector AFTER the filter...
