  • In this video interview, Steve talks about the encounter he had while hiking in the forest of Minnesota when he was just a boy! He was with a friend when the encounter happened and they were both terrified by what they both saw in the forest! The creature was leaning up against a tree and hit the tree with its fist! I can't image having a stair down with a sasquatch as all my encounters the creatures walked away very similar to the Patterson footage! What a great interview! My brother lived in northern MN for many years. He found huge human tracks on a remote logging road (Bally Creek Road) in freshly falling snow one night. The tracks would weave up and down in and out of the ditch. They were in line with one another. He finally stopped the car to get out and look at them. He is 6' tall, and his furthest stride could not even begin to reach to the next track. So the tracks themselves were huge, and the stride was beyond what any human could make!

As a Minnesotan, thanks for sharing your story from Up North with us, Steve. I didn't consider you boring as I listened to your story and interview. You sound like a born and raised Minnesotan like myself - honest and forthcoming. There's two new aspects of Sasquatch that I hadn't thought of before I watched this video. The first is Bigfoot hitting the tree with its fist after it spied you and your buddy. Now I'm wondering if that's what "tree knocking' signifies - a Sasquatch seeing a human? And secondly, I never considered the horrid odor being a response from Bigfoot like a skunk spaying when surprised. I always thought Bigfoot's scent was from lack of personal hygiene, but it always baffles me why some folks smell the horrific odor and others don't. Could that be a trait in specific Sasquatch species and others not? More questions than answers, but perhaps that is part of what makes Bigfoot so intriguing.

my first sasquatch encounter happened deep in the superior national forest when i was 5 years old.
i woke up one night and saw this massive figure standing in the window looking at me with glowing red eyes. i was transfixed, then it moved away from the window and started banging on the cabin walls. BANG BANG BANG like it was smacking the side of the cabin. i start yelling, everyone else wakes up and is yelling, it was chaos. then it just became quiet again like nothing happened.
I often replay this memory in my mind, i can see it staring at me with red eyes like it was yesterday.
i was blown away when i started looking up sasquatch stories and so many other people said they banged on their walls as well

When I was a kid my dad had trapped a big foot on our property, It was a small one, only about 4ft tall. He called the game wardens, by the time they got there it broke out and took off. We didn't know what it was or even what the term bigfoot meant at the time. It wasn't until years later we figured it out. I still to this day remember the stench and the sounds it made.

@sayitaintsl0w I have crippling social anxiety, I don't think I would do too well telling the story. I could write about it i suppose. I wish I was good at drawing so I could show what it looked like. It was more human than primate. My dad thought it was a kid or teenager messing around in our barn at first. My dad slammed the door trapping it inside, ran to the house and got me and my brother. We were able to look in through the barn tin and watch him pace back and forth. He walked just like a human but was covered in hair except for his face. It was almost too hard to process what I was looking at. He kind of squealed like he was panicking. He looked us in our eyes just like a human would, I was expecting him to talk or something. We went back to the house, called sherrifs department, they thought we were nuts and turned us over to the game wardens. We went directly back to the barn and it was gone. Door was still shut, no idea how it got away.

Hey ST!!! Awesome story as usual, my brother!! I listen to every story that you share and appreciate every person who comes forward to share their experience. You know I’m in Michigan my whole life until I was 44, and I can’t in some of the most desolate and isolated areas for over 20 years and I never once ever experienced a Bigfoot or a Dogman, for that matter. I hear all of these stories coming from Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Minnesota and I keep thinking what did I miss? Did I hear something or experience something and not realize what it was? I always had a great respect for the woods and I never heard any animals or was, always mindful of my surroundings so maybe they didn’t bother us. My father dear hunted his entire life. He hunted on private property, he would get one deer a year and that was our food for the winter. He never said he ever experienced anything. I’m disappointed because it would’ve been so cool to at least see a Bigfoot from a distance. I’m not so sure about this dog man thing. I’m not 100% it exists. I thoroughly believe in Bigfoot. But I am not so sure about the Michigan dog man. I’ve never known the single person to ever talk about it. I’m 57 years old. I’m a paranormal investigator. No one ever said anything about Dogman. Anyway, just wanted to say thank you. Another amazing story as usual.

Also, were you all 'off trail' and could the bigfoot have been looking at something that was maybe still on trail? Just a thought but I do concur that there was another one around if it took the time to make a tree knock. Amazing news that they do this with their fist. You brought a new perspective to that that I'd never heard about. You arent boring, you are amazing and it's smart to dwell on the side of caution. If that particular individual had had any interest in hurting you, you two would be dead. You would be part of the Missing 411 enigma. You got out of those woods because it let you. No chance that even the fastest human can outrun one of these things. There are hundreds of accounts of people seeing these things running at an estimated 40 miles per hour or faster. If you hadn't ran it may have chosen to "escort you out," but if it had wanted to hurt you, rest assured you'd be known as one of those two Minnesotan boys who went missing back in '87. I'm glad it all worked out for you, and that you were allowed to go on to become a husband and father and to live the rest of your life.

HUGE clusters of deception. His body language was WAY outside the lines. I was watching closely. I’m an export.

Steve sorry being from MN and around in the Northern suburbs and a cabin up north in 1987 I know what you experienced. Mn was wild when you Ieft the 7 County Metro in 1987 you only have dim lights and flashlights so you were in the wild. And Nobody was thinking about big foot and the internet was just a few 1000 computers hooked up to a dial up phone holder at colleges and some schools and homes. But anyway glad you enjoyed the June 5 release of "Harry and the Henderson 1987" you had a fun night of smoking a little grass and did a little rabble rousing. Not knowing where you were in the state in 1987 you were probably just in Elk River at the new theater for the movie relieve and fell asleep in the movie good dream though same details as I get.

@@SASQUATCHTHEORY Entertainment is great but facts matter and I can tell storys that happend in 1987 with alot more detail that pertain to truthful storys. And if I saw a Bigfoot I would remember exactly where I was that's exactly how I knew when Harry and the Hendersons came out. Not a movie worth remembering except for the Bigfoot yep early summer 87ish. So if I can remember a blip movie I would have more details on where this went down.

Nobody is forcing witnesses to tell their story. What do you want the guy to do, say, "I saw a bigfoot. Good night, folks"????
