    Great video, Luke.
    I got a pair of an earlier model about 16-17 years ago, when I worked as a mailman. They saved my day several times. Nothing great about being out on your bike in the rain for maybe 5 hours and having the water soaking through your shoes and socks after only 15 minutes :-(
    Sealskinz kept my feet dry and my spirit up the whole day. Game changer.

    I use them. And really like waking up on a cold morning on a sheep hunt and my boots are frosty and damp, put my fresh regular socks on and seal skin over, and I don't know I have cold wet boots.

    SealSkinz are amazing! We use them mountain biking in early spring, and late fall in area that are guarantied to have water crossings.
    Dont know if you realize but they have two kinds...one can be fully submerged, the other not; as in, water in get in through the top.

    I have a couple of pairs of the full length, slightly heavier weight, military style Sealskinz socks, and they are great. I usually wear a thin Coolmax liner sock inside. The outside finish is a little odd, but it slips into a boot nicely (I just threw our my Columbia Bugaboots, as I'd worn them to death) and I favour a tall, combat style boot. As you noted they aren't cheap, but that's why I wear the coolmax liners, to reduce wear on the inside, and also I can swap the liner sock for a clean one, and get more uses from the Sealskins, and cut down the laundry strain on them.
    For dry conditions, I favour a wool/polyamide blend again, the military issue type, with loop stitched soles. If you get the socks right, walking is so much more comfortable :-)

    Seal Skinz makes some great stuff, I like wearing mine with my Israeli Scout canvas boots,the boots are light weight and quick drying with awesome grip and the socks always keep my feet dry. You might really enjoy a pair of those, not a lot of support for a heavy pack but 20 to 30 pounds and they are fine. Palladium make some as well but I really like the Israeli made brand the best, they are made by Dafna Footwear. They are my goto boot for almost everything. I really enjoy your reviews. Oh Yeah the Seal Skinz gloves are pretty cool as well.

    I just learned about SealSkinz products which are much more costly than the $30-$40 price range you mention.
    It appears their socks, 8 years later, consist of 3 layers, the interior layer is now a Merino Wool.
    Also, SealSkinz is a UK based company.

  • @ThatBugBehindYou
    @ThatBugBehindYou Před 5 lety

    The editing is a bit dodgy how you didn't show yourself entering then leaving the water in one shot and it's also strange how you cut before the sock came off your foot.
    I'm not saying you're lying but the editing suggests it.
