well maybe you can help me. I've never worn SealSkinz before ever. I'm going on a long distance hike for 6 months. 3 months are going to be cold and wet. what do you recommend for hiking long distance say 15 mile days 3 months-6monthsI wear a 12US Salomon trailrunner and boots
I was quite sceptical about these kind of socks, but been wearing the same pair hiking in wet weather for about 3 years now and wouldn't be without them. 👍👣👣
Great.thks. Bought a pair for 30 quid. Work as they say ...very good. Was worried about walking 15 miles in them at a time...No blisters, a bit baggy. 100 % waterproof.
Good review..👍 Love the happy splashing.. Been looking at getting a pair for the autumn/ winter ahead to wear in some Army boots which should keep water out anyway when smeared with Leder Gris.. I understand some soldiers carry sealskinz in case water comes in over the tops. Just whip off wet socks and wear sealskins. until the inside of the boots dry again.. Can't wait to try them..
Great review with a proper test run, thanks Hannah! I wonder how they perform with wicking moisture away in warmer temps when your feet start to sweat a bit.
I bought some sealskinz the extreme cold weather ones (as my circulation is not too good and once my feet are cold and wet they'll stay cold) I decided to get some for my Gold DofE as I am doing it in Dartmoor. even though its august its been really wet and the weather should be 15-19 degrees.
after a few months of wear my seal skins started leaking, this is my second pair, the same for the first pair.the first was replaced by the retailer but I need waterproof socks to last for more than a few months . im always outdoors year round
@@TheWildNative your welcome i love your channel and I see that you are out in all weather so the sealskinz beanie is good as well its windproof and 100%, waterproof very warm and comfortable x
Is it possible to keep the inside of your boots dry with Gortex construction, sealers etc in wet conditions? I live in southern California and wet boots are rarely an issue.
6 miles is not very far. They look like they are too big so what do they feel like with the wrinkles? Would they give you blisters on a longer hike? I generally hike 20-25 miles or 10-15 in wet snow (slush) and I suppose CZcams promoted this to me because I had done searches on these types of socks last week.
I’ve had SealSkinz for over 20 years and they’re still completely waterproof 👍

I had a pair for cycling and found them too thick but I'm thinking of getting some for all the hiking I do now.
Yes I agree they would be too thick for cycling. I will be using mine this weekend for hiking!
I've seen that they got a super thin version of it. I've never tried it before but they made it specifically for hot weathers.
Buy cycling trainers a half size bigger for bad weather & wear them with thicker socks

That sounds great. I’ll add it to my birthday list. Your comment means a lot. Thanks for your support :)
Interesting, can you fill the sock with water and see if it drips through eventually
Just got mine today at Go out doors half price sail 😀
Nice one! They are great arent they :)

I just watched Arrival and realized your name is a Palindrome! It is the same backwards as it is forwards.
