Moscheles and Liszt were very friendly -- a fantasy dinner party would include them both. Moscheles was avuncular, sweet-natured, and reserved, but he was a "kitten with claws" at the keyboard. He made a fortune and was welcome everywhere. He's unjustly neglected. La Fogue is a masterpiece of dramatic tension -- it's also nicely laid out for the pianist. It fits well under the hand, and his spelling is thoughtful -- it's easy to actually read! I love the giant FINE -- you can see it before you get there and it's exciting!
