"We want you to fire Stacy Carter."
"Oh really? Is she refusing to do something?"
"Nah, she's just generally a pain in the butt -nothing specific."
"Well, say no more. I'll fire her immediately. Even though she's in the middle of an angle that will have to be cut short with no explanation. Also, firing her with no clear reason will probably make her husband, one of our two main commentators, quit before we can establish a replacement. But that's OK.

According to Jim Ross, Kitty was more "business savvy" than "difficult to work with". He said she would question storylines, as to why she (her character, that is) would do something and how it would benefit her. One of the creative team got fed up with her asking questions and went to Vince, who fired her. JR wasn't there when it happened, as he has said if he was, he could have tried to smooth it over or just send her home for a few weeks until everything had cooled down.

I mean... what dude would sit there and keep working while your wife gets fired? That's a no-win scenario for him. He stays there, she never forgives him, it eats away at her until she leaves him. He quits for solidarity, he loses his income, and no guarantee she'll even appreciate what he's done for her. Has there EVER been a good, happy ending type story when 2 married people work together? I guess the bottom line, the takeaway from all this is, do not work with your wife. Period.

It was done so swift and WWF wouldn't budge on their decision to let her go. If I had been Lawler I probably would've reacted the same way. There seems to be a bit of a disconnect. While it sounds like she was fired because Kat was a pain in the @$$ for the writers' room to work with. Okay, so has anyone expressed this to Kat, telling her that the writers are finding her to be a massive pain to work with and giving her a chance to change her behavior? Then Jerry talks to Vince and says essentially that, Should someone have told us something was going on before it escalated to this level? Vince agrees, yes someone should have told you about this before it got to this level. And? What's done is done and it's too much of a pain to undo it? Had Kat been getting talked to and she wasn't telling Jerry? Was she manipulating him and telling a different story?!
I mean I guess it could've gone down as has been explained here, but there seemed to have been some major leaps going on that took it from "Kat's being a pain for the writers to work with" to "fire Kat".
