  • Sunscreen or sun cream. This video is on the best sunscreen, natural sunscreen, sunblock, sun protection, spf, uva and uvb.
Sunscreens are products combining several ingredients that help prevent the sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation from reaching the skin. Two types of ultraviolet radiation, UVA and UVB, damage the skin, age it prematurely, and increase your risk of skin cancer.

A few months ago we released a responding to comments video on how to treat sunburn. The video has done really well and we've had over a thousand messages and comments. With the main one being, "Abraham what sunscreen do you recommend?". So in this video I'm going to teach you how to protect yourself from the sun and how to pick the best sunscreen from any pharmacy, lets just say you’re going to become a sunscreen pro.
    WHAT IS SUNBURN:
Sunburn is skin damage and your body’s response to try to repair it - it’s a short-term warning for potential long-term DNA damage, and is a clear sign that the DNA in your skin cells has been damaged by too much UV radiation. Getting sunburn, just once every 2 years, can triple your risk of melanoma skin cancer.
Sunburn doesn’t have to be raw, peeling or blistering. If your skin has gone pink or red in the sun, it’s sunburnt. For people with darker skin, it may just feel irritated, tender or itchy.
    SUN SAFETY TIPS:
Spend time in the shade when the sun is strongest. In the UK, this is between 11am and 3pm from March to October.
    Make sure you:
    • Spend time in the shade between 11am and 3pm
    • Make sure you never burn
    • Cover up with suitable clothing, wide-brimmed hat that shades the face, neck and ears, long sleeved top, trousers or long skirts in close-weave fabrics that do not allow sunlight through.
    • Sunglasses with wraparound lenses or wide arms with the CE Mark and British Standard Mark 12312-1:2013 E
    • Use a lip balm with sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15 to help protect your lips.
    • Take extra care with children
    • Use at least factor 30 sunscreen
    WHAT SUNSCREEN TO GET:
Do not rely on sunscreen alone to protect yourself from the sun. Wear suitable clothing and spend time in the shade when the sun's at its hottest.
When buying sunscreen, the label should have:
    • A sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30 to protect against UVB
    • At least 4-star UVA protection
    • UVA protection can also be indicated by the letters "UVA" in a circle, which indicates that it meets the EU standard.
Make sure the sunscreen is not past its expiry date. Most sunscreens have a shelf life of 2 to 3 years.
Do not spend any longer in the sun than you would without sunscreen.
    HOW TO APPLY SUNSCREEN:
Most people do not apply enough sunscreen.
As a guide, adults should aim to apply around:
2 teaspoons of sunscreen if you're just covering your head, arms and neck
2 tablespoons if you're covering your entire body while wearing a swimming costume
If sunscreen is applied too thinly, the amount of protection it gives is reduced.
If you're worried you might not be applying enough SPF30, you could use a sunscreen with a higher SPF.
If you plan to be out in the sun long enough to risk burning, sunscreen needs to be applied twice:
    • 30 minutes before going out
    • Just before going out
Sunscreen should be applied to all exposed skin, including the face, neck and ears, and head if you have thinning or no hair, but a wide-brimmed hat is better.
Sunscreen needs to be reapplied liberally and frequently, and according to the manufacturer's instructions.
This includes applying it straight after you have been in water, even if it's "water resistant", and after towel drying, sweating or when it may have rubbed off.
It's also recommended to reapply sunscreen every 2 hours, as the sun can dry it off your skin.

Some use and some are ok/happy with it. Some choose to be tanned. Covering the skin is better ideally instead of using costemics. Avoid cosmetics for skin unless necessary is my advice. Subtle sun is considered ok in general. Not more and not less. Be careful about skin to keep it healthy instead of beautiful. Healthy is beautiful.

I was in 38°c heat and sometimes higher so I made sure to apply at least every 45mins to an hour while out in direct sun. I would love to know how to treat blistered burnt skin! I have an acne prone skin, right now i'm using a facial cleanser that contains a very little amount of benzoyl peroxide that i got from my dermatologist, and i exfoliate every 3 days with a gentle exfoliator that contains AHA (not given by dermatologist). I treat spots with a water based gel of a low concentration of Benzoyl Peroxide also from my dermatologist. He also gave me an anti inflammatory gel containing 0.025% of desonide and aloe vera. My question is, is it okay to use desonide after using AHA and benzoyl peroxide? Second is, since im using AHAs to exfoliate, i'll become more sensitive to the sun and need a sunprotector, i'm looking for a water based sunscreen, but is there any ingredients of the sunscreen that i should look up for, for example ingredients of sunscreen that is shouldnt be mixed with my routine, or something that would be good to add to the routine, or anything to be cautious about to avoid breaking out? I've been looking anywhere around NCBI but cannot find my answer..anyway Thank you

I'm Indian so I have a fair - wheatish skin tone. I tan so damn quick. I become completely brown in the sun and it takes so long for me to get back my skin tone. The worst part is I feel all the sunscreen goes off coz of sweating excessively.

Hye dear, i am Indian too and using mamaearth ultra light indian sunscreen with spf50 PA+++ . I am using it for last 2 years and it perfectly suits on my skin because it is made specially according to the Indian weather condition .you can wear it in all types of seasons and it will protects you from harmful UV rays and sun tan and also helps in even toned your skin.the thing you are talking about that it will take too much of time to get back your true texture. So it will depends on the pre and pro care of the skin.if you are pre active then it will take no longer time.Try it!!!

My skin type is (V) Brown skin, rarely burn and darking easily. What do you think is the best, sunscreen body lotion or whitening body lotion? The price for whitening body lotion is much cheaper than any sunscreen, anyway I'm using sunscreen for my face. Thank you.

Have a question. I have full long beard. Should I apply sunscreen under it ? It‘s not easy. Example if UV rays damage the skin under my beard will my other face part where I use sunscreen also damaged and aging faster ?
So what I am asking Is sunscreen still effective against aging if I dont apply sunscreen on my beard ? Or am I getting still wrinkles 🤣
