    • @Dantheman2010ish
      @Dantheman2010ish Před 9 lety +8

      Not a problem. Not everyone understands what twin scroll turbo charging means. And to anyone who doesn't its simply an ingenious means of turbo charging where the end result is the elimination of turbo lag, or close to it. By using two exhaust ports to spool the turbo instead of one, the turbine spins faster and easier.

    The front end of that thing looks amazing. I especially like what they've done with the headlights. Might even be the best looking headlights on any BMW at the moment. The whole thing looks pretty great. I like how it looks much more like a miniature 4 series instead of just a 1 series with a longer boot. I'm sure the proper M2 will be fantastic.

    • @thorandmoljnir
      @thorandmoljnir Před 10 lety +4

      I agree. I own an E92 which I love, but if I wanted to upgrade I think the 2 looks much nicer than the 4 series. especially the front.

    • @baldolera
      @baldolera Před 10 lety +1

      I'm just disappointed with the back end. The front end is stunning, but the back end looks like it was penned within the last two days of handing in the final design. I can't really explain it, but the proportions look off and I especially hate the tail lights. Also, the lower valence in black plastic simply looks cheap.

    if you want the best M5(as E39) get an M4.

    After buying a 2015 M235i, I paid to have the Dinan Stage 1 Tune kit installed. It already had the M Performance Exhaust option (which does not improve performance but sounds fabulous.)
    NOW: Peak Horsepower 364 @ 5500 RPM
    Peak Torque 430 @ 3000 RPM
    IMHO, the US$2000 Stage 1 Tune kit provides the best bang for the buck if you are on a tight budget.

  • @shreveportart27

    Thank you for the video, it was instrumental in opening my eyes to the M235i product line. Even though it only has one twin-turbo, after taking it for a test drive I was impressed. The handling and ample room influenced my decision to order a BMW over the Jaguar F-type and Audi TT I was considering. At just under $58k, my car was ordered with the optional M exhaust, technology package, drivers assistance package, M performance side sill kit and 438M orbit grey wheels. Although I don't care for the rim colors, I have made arrangements to get these triple chrome plated. It should set off the Melborn Red Metallic paint and black convertible roof. Being from the Shreveport, LA area, I found an outstanding deal in this custom order with BMW of Dallas. Ryan Chong worked out a no hassle deal that was outstanding. Thank you XCAR, Ryan and BMW of Dallas.

      MassiveGlove The BMW is much more responsive and the acceleration is superior. Although, I had to add the M Exhaust to my BMW to get that cracking sound like the F-type. I would recommend taking both for a ride and see what you think. Additionally, if you need to take more than one passenger and a brief case, you will need the room that the M235i offers.

      How is the 235i to drive?

    • @shreveportart27
      @shreveportart27 Před 8 lety

      I got the M235i F23 convertible and love the way it handles. The M2 has a little more horsepower, but with a tuner chip for around $1k you will have an M235i with superior acceleration and similar handling on a budget. I would suggest you take both for a drive and decide for yourself which one fits your needs best. Best of luck!

    Who needs and M2? I do. After owning a 135i M sport I will never buy another car without a true limited slip differential. The car was 97% of what it should have been, but with 300hp & Tq. a LSD is a requirement. Disappointed BMW doesn't at least offer it as a stand alone option.

    "need to be an expert to pull off"
    M cars are the easiest to drive out of any comparable cars.
    those cars are idiot proof(well not exactly), where ass the regular class cars have the power (and also can be easily tuned), but not the control arms and many other of the suspension and drivetrain parts, not to forget the differential which makes a HUGE difference.

    THIS IS NOW AVAILABLE IN XDRIVE!
    I drove this vehicle today at my local dealer. I saw it on my local dealers website last nite and I thought WOW this is available in xdrive and with electronic dampening? I got on BMW's website and decked out an xdrive with $10k options and it still cane in over 20k cheaper than an RS5 I had planned on buying. I decided to drive it for the experience; I expected to like it not. I drove it and I kinda liked it. Then I drove an X5 50i v8 turbo; I can afford either, I liked it. I then thought that it was a wash as far as how I enjoyed them "each in a different way". I drove the M235i Xdrive again and I fell in love with the damn car. After many test drives I can't seem to trade in my Audi S5 due to my auto needs. Recent cars that don't hold a candle imo M4,M3,Audi S6, all driven in rain. Where I live it rains and snows and rear wheel drive cars are scary in winter. I want performance in all conditions I WANT IT ALL. I also like and crave sophistication and precision all of which I observed in the M235i Xdrive.
    BMW hit a home run with the Xdrive M235i!

    • @sufficetosay
      @sufficetosay Před 10 lety +1

      Chris Gamba I reside in Indiana where we deal with rain and snow for half of the year. I want to drive performance vehicles year round so I am biased. Nonetheless you are mistaken in your assumption that the added weight of xdrive or awd somehow offsets any advantages they achieve in performance. I cut my teeth on RWD and I understand that too much horsepower on 2 wheels REGARDLESS of the intelligent differentials available causes accidents and very scary moments. It is also very difficult to get all of the available power down in powerful RWD cars on acceleration. Most of the current vehicles with way too much horsepower and 2WD have the ecu's limiting the horsepower as traction is gained. In an AWD high performance vehicle all of the power can be used resulting in superior 0-60 times. In the rain the AWD is still capable of rapid controlled acceleration, do that in a 2WD performance car... wait no keep it in the garage while the real performance cars are on the road. imo

Best handling BMW , aside from 1M coupe, and aside from M pure BMWs, nest accelerating. Small, tight, grippy, responsive. Excellent car overall. When 1 series came out I looked at them as BMW clown cars. Small 3 series. But they stand on their own as heirs to my all time favorite BMW 1970's 2002.

    I wonder, will they ever revive the M Roadster and the M Coupe?
    Yes, some people want the sleeper look but for the price? Some people also want the looks. The M Roadster and the M Breadvan provided that.

    Great car, however if I went for this I couldn't leave it stock, throw on some lightweight wheels, Michelin PSSs, and probably an upgraded FMIC and HFC DP.

    Correction: uses a twin scroll turbo...not the same as twin turbo. It's really only one turbine unit but with two exhaust gas inlets.

    A smaller 3-series. They should've designed it as a retro sedan. Currently, every single car in BMW's garage looks like the same car in a different size. Don't Bimmer fans want some variety?

    it doesn't have 2 turbos it has twin scroll turbo. it is the N55B30 engine which is also on 535i . Only S55 on new m3 and m4 have 2 turbos. So much for a good review..

    If BMW makes X5M and X6M, they have to make an M2 to save face. The M2 will probably have everyone dreaming of the old M3s, just as the 1M did.
