- how to make a fake cake! fake cakes are a great way to jazz up your kitchen, displays or just for fun. this a full fake cake tutorial with cute vintage cake frosting.
materials:
foam or cardboard box
lightweight spackling
acrylic paint
popsicle sticks for stirring
disposable containers to mix "frosting"
disposable piping bags
piping tips
gloss spray (To add sheen)
fake fruits for decoration (optional)

Also just a heads up at a lot of craft stores you can find foam that’s already in round shapes if you don’t want to shape it yourself!!

I am watching youtube to collect information before I create my first bake cake. I would suggest a tall plastic container and insert a piping bag for easier scooping.
For lemonade days decorate a table with flowers, pastel colored fake bake, lovely napkins,plates etc. One of the reasons I want to fake bake. Candy land Christmas tree with fake bake cupcakes,lollipops are what I desire as well.

I LOVE fake cakes making props has intrigued me my whole life I used to have my dad buy me silicone and foam from the hardware store and I’d get cheap plastic icecream sundae cups from the dollar store and make fake milkshakes and tiny fake cakes and stuff I love it

I've been obsessed with trying to make a fake cake for a while now, I'm so happy I saw your youtube video! I have a couple of questions if you can help! If I want to add cherries, pearls, or any kind of embellishments to the cake for decorating if I add it on soon after spreading the spackle on the cake will that ultimately tack it on real good I won't need to worry about it ever falling off? Or should I be gluing these things onto the cake? Also, I was toying around with the idea of making my cake look glossy in a kind of sculpture, ceramicish way, do you know if I could paint resin as a coat on the fake cake or use some kind of sealant or varnish of some kind? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

In my experience I’ve had to use super glue to keep places in place. But if you’re not moving your cake around pressing in the pearls me cherries while it’s wet will work. You can use a gloss spray that you can find in art stores or online. Thanks!

If my spackling is pink but dries white would added paint still change the outcome of the color?🥺❤️
Yes! Just remember if you’re making the spackling pink it will appear more pink than it will when it dries. I use this kind of spackling too!

Did you make the donut?
Do I need to add water for the spackling?
Nope! Just stir it, you can add acrylic paint to thin if you need to. I.e. adding white paint to the spackling for a white cake to make it easier to manage.

you can try searching for " spackling ", " spackling paste" .It's used to fix holes in walls typically. hope this helps!

You can't make it easier on yourself and use Dollar tree plastic bowls that are bigger and then just throw them away when you're done or wash them and use them specifically for crafting purposes that is what I do
