Volkswagen Taigun vs Honda City Comparison - SUV Or Sedan? | MotorBeam

  • In today's video we compare the Volkswagen Taigun and the Honda City. Both the vehicles fall in a similar price bracket and both are offered with two engine options. The City gets a 1.5 petrol or a 1.5 diesel engine while the Taigun gets a 1.0 turbo petrol or a 1.5 turbo petrol engine. These cars have different USPs and excel in different areas so it does make sense test driving both of them and seeing which one meets your requirements more.

Being a 2021 city owner, i had faced a similar dilemma of either going with a Kushaq or the City.
Trust me when i say this, a raised up hathback (Kushaq/Taigun) will definitely save the underbody of a car but it just can't match up to the comfort and space a sedan offers. Both vehicles drive amazingly well. Agreed that the Germans are known for their robust build but its the Japanese who make one of the best engines.
So it's just a matter of preference.
Don't think abt road conditions in India, i come from a small town and don't have very good roads over here, but driving the New City is a cakewalk.

I had the dilemma of choosing between sedan and SUV and was really worried about ground clearance. I finally settled for a cross over, scross, solely because of the low ground clearance of Honda city. Having driven my scross for more than 7k kms, along with other cars such as Kia sonet and 4th gen city which my relatives own, I can assure that no SUVs or cross overs can match the comfort and handling of a sedan.
We generally overestimate the need for ground clearance. City has more than enough GC, only thing is that you’ve got to be a little more careful over humps and potholes. No matter which car you buy, unless it is a Thar or a hardcore off-roader, you’ll only go gentle over bumps and potholes.

Have Hcity since 12 years..still drives like its a new car. But i would prefer an SUV over sedan on Indian roads. Have faced lots of challenges on road due to low ground clearance of a sedan on several road trips. Honda should bring SUV like Honda HRV to Indian market to compete against creta seltos, if they wanna survive. Else Honda will be out of India just like Ford and Chevrolet. Already its losing market share and profitably in India.

In suv I choose Tata Nexon Or xuv300 Over Taigun since it has 1.2 litre turbo powered engine.. Taigun has reported few issue in engine strugglin when 3 people in back row In this video No other car cars can offer Honda city like comfort

and also it's the fastest NA Engine in it's segment
      so faster than ciaz, verna
      🤣
the most overrated engine is tsi 1.0
      😂🙏
vtec 1.5 is popular as it's been around for a long time and proven engine
