Probably the last pitcher with this much hype was Strausburg. Good for Skenes about time he is up!
Every MLB team has at least 3 pitchers on the IL, the average is 6 and one team has 14 at the time of writing. Why? They banned sticky stuff screwing an entire generation who has used it their whole careers.
He can’t maintain this for long without blowing his arm out. I’d rather have control master with 90mph fast like Gregg Maddux that never gets hurt.

Skenes is kind of an unusual physical specimen. He looks like a man among boys in the minors. Here’s hoping. I hope the Pirates developed him the right way. There’s no excuse if they fail to develop this guy. What upsets me is that the Pirates have failed to develop players in the past and their players have gone on to other teams and became star players like Garret Cole. He’s just one example. It’s as if certain people in the Pirates organization want the players to fail. I’m NOT saying that the current group of people presently there are doing that, but IN THE PAST, there’s been a BAD TRACK RECORD. To be fair, they were in the Playoffs a few years back. They need to push more. Teams like the Yankees haven’t had a losing season in literally 30 to 50 years. The Pirates are behind the times. I would like to see a tradition start up again THE RIGHT WAY that lasts decades or longer.
The fact that this Dork is bangin' Olivia Dunne impresses me way more than any 102 mph fastball, Cy Young award, or $500 million contract he's gonna sign. Jesus, imagine getting to hit that every night!
We all know what is going to happen. 2 years from now he will be traded to New York or LA
Grabbed Paul for both of my fantasy teams. Looking forward to seeing him pitch in the MLB.
