Did you just completely miss the 2 other tracks they put out? Grooming My Replacement & The Game were brutal, nothing like this. They’ve been making songs with more mainstream appeal since 2012 (basically since CO existed), they were in an indie rock band called Adventures while being Code Orange. Versatility isn’t a bad thing if you don’t abandon your roots & they haven’t
I traditionally don’t listen to every single a band drops I’ll do one or two depending, since I do album reviews too and prefer the surprise. They have always been pretty experimental, especially live. I would argue that they abandoned their roots, just not their influences. They’ve all but dropped all of the hardcore/metalcore elements and just kept the experimental and mixed it with old bands from the 90s lol. And they did it with the purpose of getting big
@@OldheadMikedude, you’re describing this one song, like they said the other 2 songs are basically quintessential Code Orange songs, experimenting isn’t the same as “abandoning their roots.” They’ve literally always been trying to achieve success, every band has, that was never not the case. If you’re expecting every single song to be yet another hardcore song at this point, idk what to say, Forever made it clear they want to do more. They’re better off not having fans that can’t respect them & you don’t seem to
In defence of Mike here though, this was a strange choice for the single video release when the other songs on the album seem to be completely different. I’m all for bands diversifying, but this song compared to the 2 you mentioned is a very jarring switch. This song would get skipped by most people who enjoy heavy CO
I understand you want to cape up for bad music but you really don’t stand to gain anything by fanning code orange kids’ balls. It’s a goofy look.

I'm a Code Orange fan ever sing Code Orange Kids. I love their heavy stuff but I respect the fact they make what then want to make. They're very experimental. They bring vibes from many different genres. Some might say they suck but that's your opinion

This band has sucked for 10+ years. They're truly awful.
These songs are fucking rad, big L for this goofball
I liked Mirror a lot, but this one just doesn't click. Feel like it's got too much going on and none of it was focused in enough or balanced with the other elements. Not chaotic in the fun, genuinely aggressive and intense way some of their other work has been, either. That material seemed like a group of young friends ahead of their time in maturity and ability, able to conjure some really heavy and compelling sounds, to focus it in to a point and absolutely nail it home. This is the other side of the coin, where they seem like they're struggling to make sense of their ideas. Just unrefined and lacking direction and cohesion all around. Lyrics seem to just go nowhere and don't have a lot going on. It might grow on me though. Not sure. We'll see.
No one noticed how the chorus is like Likin Park song. Same tones, same voice. It's the new fashion to sing like Linkin Park. Fever 333 did it, and Architects, and now Code Orange. I Hate that.
