    In my experience cycling power is going to be a short-term fix. I do several of these a week. Sometimes a firmware update with the GE Service Tool solves the problem. Also When you're checking voltage at pins 2 and 5, if you use needle leads and back probe to the harness it's way easier. voltage from the control board should be 14 volts. It could be a little bit one way or the other but if it's way out of variance or no voltage it should be replaced. If I have a bad control board I replace both boards. If I'm getting good voltage from the control board I only replace the ui.

      Well technically it’s supposed to be 16 volts according to their documentation, but it’s been working with mine and a lot of people at 30. Not sure for how long though. To put it bluntly I’d say you have either an issue with the UI board or the control board. I’d swap out the control board first as it’s definitely the easiest.

    I have the same problem. Dead U/I panel. I replaced the main power supply/control board but still dead. You did not mention a green LED on the board. Mine has it and it lights up steady. Another video said if the LED is on steady, then comms between the control board and U/I board is missing. Also, you measured 30 volts on pins 2 and 5. Supposed to be 13.5 volts on my board, as well as another video pointed out. I would have liked it if you re-measured the voltage on your new control board to see if is still 30 or 13. I still haven't fixed my DW as of this writing.

    • @BreakFixRepair
      @BreakFixRepair  Před 11 měsíci +1

      The biggest point of the video was showing that I fixed this one by just unplugging the connections, plugging them back up, and turning it back on, which seemed to have worked for a few other people already. Since you’ve already replaced the control board then the likely cause of the issue is the UI board. My board works around 30 volts but the documentation I’ve found shows 13.5v so it’s unfortunately a little fuzzy on the actual voltage we should be getting between those two pins. some work on 13.5 and some 30 it seems.

      Mine I have just been flipping the breaker off and on and it reset. I found that by testing for power because it was unresponsive but did have power and when I reset the breaker it turned on. I have been doing that for a couple months, but now it isn't working. I guess I'll try a few things, but I do have a couple years on my extended warranty. Additionally, the first thing I noticed was pump noise. It was still working, but use to be extremely quiet. That may be a separate issue. When the power issue started it would beep at night like it was losing power when not in use.

      Mine has been doing the beeping thing on and off for the past two years like it's losing power then it automatically comes back on. Last time I couldn't get it to work I fought with unplugging it and flipping the breaker and it finally turned back on. It's doing the same thing now and unplugging and doing breaker isn't working. I can't figure out how to pull it out from under my countertop without breaking it either.

    • @BreakFixRepair
      @BreakFixRepair  Před 10 měsíci +1

      @jessicajohnson9193 there are normally two screws that hold the top to the underside of the countertop. There’s a panel underneath you’ll also have to remove. You may be able to remove the under panel and get to the control panel there. It’s a pretty tight fit though. If I can help let me know. Be sure to turn the breaker off first.

    You really need to study a little more. You have have your multi-meter set to AC voltage trying to test a DC circuit. You really don't understand the circuitry you are looking at. Glad you got your dishwasher working... the video has value in that it shows what it looks like when taken apart and where the fasteners are located. An intermittent, cheap, $12 multi-meter can get you into serious trouble if your meter tells you a circuit is not energized when it is, but you have got to learn how to use one correctly regardless.

    • @BreakFixRepair
      @BreakFixRepair  Před 5 měsíci

      It’s hard to do everything correctly while you’re filming. Luckily the $12 multimeter picked up the DC on the AC setting and still gave an accurate reading. It’s really not something one would understand until you’re in that scenario of filming multiple takes and splicing it all together and you accidentally set your multimeter to AC on take 12 because you fumbled the wrong word in the previous shot. I use a cheap multimeter in my videos because not everyone has the funds to spend $250 on a fluke, myself included. For 99% of the circumstances it’s worked great. But yes, you’re right, you can certainly get shocked or hurt if a multimeter isn’t giving accurate results, but I’ve yet to run into that scenario with this one. I’d say watching a video, not understanding all that goes into it, and making a judgment on someone’s knowledge is a rather bold and ignorant statement based upon one thing you’ve seen. Have the day you deserve.
