I know him from the first time and love him so much.I´M from Germany ,and cry almost too, thank you and hope you never forget him, like me,I´m 70 Jears old, good luck for you...sorry for my reding... ...
RIP Mr Lindley, you were unique. An incredible musician...just loved your style, your quirky songs but above all your incredible slide guitar playing . Thank you
Another great example of David Lindley's talent. He sounds like four guys, and yet it is just him, his voice, his Weissenborn, and Bob Fuller's song. Rock on forever, David.
I will put here how much I enjoyed DL overall presence in this world. I will miss him to pieces and treasure first hearing him sing on Stay by JB...years later I wanted to just be him. I guess when we see these artists we wanna have a piece of them in your life. Kinda consumes but like everything it's all momentary and we have the memories of their gifts left behind. Bless the family and deep condolences.
Those rippling fingers. The damping control behind the steel slide. The falsetto doo wop. The signature clashing polyester prints. Those Florsheim shoes.
I cannot fathom why anyone would say David Lindley "is under rated" since he the foremost in the field as a session artist and has played with the likes of Linda Ronstadt, Ry Cooder, Bonnie Raitt and as a solo artist. The term under rated does not apply here. David is rated extremely high!
In general terms "underrated" means someone that is not well known amongst the broad public. It is not the same as someone not being regarded as a good artist. Thus the term underrated applies here.
Strange i listen and love lots and lots of music...but for some insane reason i have totally overlooked David Lindley..In one way its kinda great i got lots to look forward to😊😊😊
I enjoyed seeing David Lindley several times in concert, open for Joe Walsh, and small clubs in LA. Me and my girlfriend are in the photo of David Lindley and El Rayo X live. We’re in the front row.
David died on the 3-3-2023 , no one can/could play like him , we all has lost a great man , thinking on his family and Rest In Peace
Could almost make you cry with his slide, now he’s gone and I am crying. Thank you.

From me here same wishes. RIP.
Mr. Dave, the man who pulled the Weissenborn guitar out of the dust bins of history and stole my heart.
Goodbye, old friend.
Rest In Peace Sir. Thank you for all the wonderful music you brought to this planet!
RIP Mr. Dave. You will be missed.

He is the very very best of the sound of Americana.
Excellent, a real original artist. RIP

He was such an amazing talented musician and singer, songwriter and a pretty funny person. Like cat food sandwiches
always great to hear a class act and they dont come any better than david lindley
Wow! What a lineup. Lindley has been under rated for EVER! Raitt is one of the premier slide players, and gotta love that piano!.
Kaleidoscope. Back in the day.
Best version of Rag Bag Until now
His masterpiece, in my opinion.
Know him since the early 80s. He is fantastic.
Tell him we love him, thanks ❤️
Thanks for sharing your gift Mr Dave. 😢
R.I.P David!
Genius!
Rest in peace Mr Lindley 🥲🕊️
Brilliant!! 👍🏻👍🏻🤘✌️
A "saz" is a long-neck lute from Asia Minor, which he does play. But this is a Weissenborn-style "Hawaiian" guitar.
A man I don't meet every day. Thanks😊🎈
Thank you ! Brilliant !
I love this guy 💟 thanks 👍
My 'MAGICAL MUSICAL MUNCHKIN' has gone on ahead damn it!
thanks for posting - maybe the best live version on youtube

I could listen to Lindsey, Cooper, or Kottke all day!
Thats *Cooder*, not "Cooper", though I presume most who view this video and read these comments would know that.....
I love Ray Cooper!
Vaya con Dios Mr. Dave. Thank you for the music!
Wow, this is beautiful Ko Ku! I love me some David Lindley, he's a big inspiration of mine!
FYI;Lindley smashed into a tree riding a bicycle when a kid. Thats why his nose looks a bit unique.
Rip
The best RIP
I believe that's a Weissenborn guitar.
Yes! :D Tinja&Markku :D
Four strings.

我寧願聽David Lindley甚過bob dylan的歌!他的彈奏比dylan出彩多了!
