My dad, who passed in 07, worked for Shell designing deep sea oil well drills and the drilling bits. I would love to see the boat named after him somehow. His name was James/Jim.

All the movement all these boats, forklifts and trucks provide is so delightful. I really love my vanilla Minecraft but that aspect of create has to be one of my favourites.

Cow Driver (Captain) = Captain Bullhead
Ship = The Infiltrator (Since you are using it for a Guardian farm and you are infiltrating their home)

I’m excited to see the return of the hardcore world but I like this world even more. This is so much more amazing. If hardcore returns, I would love for create to stay your main series as long as the algorithm and inspiration allows it.
If you want to make the large boat turn slower, you can add another set of wheels at the front so the spacing is more in line with the track instead of waiting for the back wheels to reach the turn first.

Since you have a forklift using the top of the stairs as a turning zone, you are going to need a safety barrier for pedestrians and dock workers. Signs as well warning that there is an active forklift at work.
I used to work for Lowe's and drive a forklift, and the forklift would actually be running in reverse primarily, as you can't see where you are going over the crate on the forks. For safety you would run in reverse as much as possible when you have a tall load so you can see where you are going
Let me explain some stuff about the paint of ships and a little extra, The red under the waterline is called Antifouling, its to make sea life not stick to said ship, The black hull above the waterline is really optional because you can paint it any color, but black is the usual color going back to when we fueled ships with coal burning boilers, Hulls were painted black in the 1900's to hide the coal soot on the hull, Today, you wont find any of that because coal burning ships are very few compared to diesel or oil burning ships. The boat you made is very flush in shape and very good, Give yourself a pat on the back ❤
My name suggestion for the Tanker is BSS Poseidon. BSS stands for BeardStone Ship, similar to how USS stands for United States Ship.
The HMS Prismariner, or just The Prismariner, would be a fantastic name for the ship since it's picking up prismarine. Might be nice to add some prismarine to the build as well.

For the boat, if you put 2 bogeys (one on the front, on at the back) It will be much more natural I think
Love how you're just taking the extra step to make this world so dynamic! Making the boat itself is already great but then going further to get it to move is just the cherry on top! Awesome stuff.
Would love to see a Cargo ship that goes to the next area! (Plus a rail link) Or Even a Passnger steamliner! Like a Padalsteamer that goes between the 2 docks could look really nice!

I think that the best and most reasonable name for the Potoo would simply be Potatoes.
It is just the most obvious choice for such a majestic creature.
i really love your create series, especially since i'm starting to learn about create and it's still a bit confusing for me, but i managed to build my first (kinda) automatic farm and it was so fun with the trial and error! ❤

I agree with some of the comments mentioning 2 bogies on the oil tanker to make it more natural. Maybe you can have the tanker come in sideways? Also, moving the bogie of the forklift to the rear wheel will make it more realistic as that's it's turning wheel.

When making a tanker, it’s really useful to give it 2 bogeys so it looks better when turning.
I also really like making the track go up & down 1 block over a long distance so it feels like waves in the ocean.
I love both this and your hardcore world. as much as I LOVE modded minecraft, seeing what you can do with just the vanilla tools is exciting.
I do miss your hardcore world, but I've also been really inspired by this series and I've been playing the mod pack myself. I'd love to see more of both.
You 100% missed the chance to build the Fallout 2 tanker ship with the piece on the side that connects to the oil rig.
And on the same note of Fallout 2, you could also name the shop after the same ship in the game! "Poseidon Vessel Valdez"
This is completely unrelated because you don’t have planes yet, but my dad told me that building taller than 100ft are required to have red flashing lights as an aviation precaution. Additionally I learned that buildings 300 ft tall are required to have red lights along the side of it. If you start building planes I think this would be a nice touch any tall buildings you build in your world.

For more detail i'd say add side lights on the ship. so at night when you look out into the bay you can see the ship lights. Side lights normally blink green and red
Stuff I remember from my forklift training is that if you can't see over the load, you should be driving backwards for the majority of the distance for safety reasons. It's also a good idea to have someone spotting you, both to make sure that you aren't about to hit anything/that the load is stable, and to keep bystanders away from the forklift. Barricades or roped off areas would be a good idea too.
Love the boat. A fun little detail would be to make the rail a block or two higher on the way out than the way back so that it looks like the boat is leaving the port empty and coming back full...this would require a whole lot more phantom rail though!
this may come in handy for future builds, there is a mod called ITEM ZOOM which basically lets you see a zoomed version of the block at the left side of your inventory so you dont have to place it to properly look at it

Honestly, I'd *love* another Hardcore episode. And a tour would also be interesting to say the least.
Also, wouldn't mind hearing some of that lovely whistling music again on occasion in the timelapses. While the current music is definitely a good vibe that I enjoy. There was just something silly about that whistle that always made me smile.

The red bottom is anti-fouling paint, its made to discourage the attachment of sea life like barnacles and make it easier for any sea life that does attach to fall off

I love to see Crate boat contraptions mod for these cases, also I strongly recommend torchmaster like mod, I love your builds and how they look like but sometimes mobs spoil views.
would be cool for the oil rig crane to lower something down to the ship to load/offload it. even if its decorative. maybe you could use a elevator

This tanker is awesome! But I think that building a battleship (Specifically the USS Iowa or something similar) would be amazing.
Did you know you can merge slots on the mechanical crafter? For the sea lanterns, you can merge the "plus" shape in the middle, and just insert items into one of the crafters, the merged crafters will then distribute the items :D
YES! YES! YES! More hardcore world please! As much as I love the create world I do miss the hardcore world. Something about vanilla just calls to me. So much more difficult to gather materials so makes it more of an achievement to finish builds. Fingers crossed for a return of the hardcore world 🤞

If aligning of phantom rails so tanker doesn't clip was so hard you can use a contraption with tanker silhouette glued to it to easily test whether rails will cut it or not.

whatever you name the ship, you should prefix the name "MV" for Motor Vessel. it's a common designator for commercial ships. also, add lettering to the front of the ship's tower saying "NO SMOKING"

Hey Beardy, just a quick note from a forklift driver... it would actually be more accurate for the driver to be reversing with a load that blocks vision. Love the series, but had to give that tidbit. Keep up the good work.

Considering, there are coal trains riding around, building an iron clad or a steamship would be really cool.
for the tanker, you could make it so the ship gains speed once its moved away from port, since such tankers in real life can build up to a pretty decent speed.
Also, it would be cool if you changed the rail a bit so it occasionally dips up or down by a block, to make it look like the ship is going up and down in waves.
