I love the part from 4:15 to 4:30, when Matti and Klemens have that little dialogue about who is the pessimist and who is the optimist. They were truly considerating how to answer and the things they say show how much they care and love each other. That was a great question and they're the most adorable cousins on earth❤❤

I just want to take a moment and appreciate how William is so natural and kind in all of wiwi's interviews, his questions are also always on point, and you can see he really respects all of his guests (sadly not many reporters have these qualities...). That moment where Klemens leaned against Matthías while he was talking about how he has a hard time expressing himself was really sweet.
Matthías seemed genuinely surprised at Klemens' answer re: who is the optimistic one, and I think that is something that even those of us who have watched basically every Hatari interview on CZcams have never seen before, so kudos to William for that. It was nice to see.
Right, I think this is the closest they ever got to revealing actual, genuine things about themselves. I somewhat hope they'll leave it at that and won't go further, though; their heavy-duty Hatari act, and the collateral mystery regarding their true personalities, is what makes them fascinating. 😁
@@isey4482 I sort of wonder if part of it is that they are now speaking to audiences that may not be as familiar with them as those back in Iceland, so they may have felt that they had to strike a different balance. I did enjoy the bit about putting Einar in with the checked luggage. 😂

That's actually something I've been fearing since they became Iceland's official representants for ESC: to see them lose their satirical edge with success and become the very thing they set out to satirize at first, i.e. a run-of-the-mill commercial band.😅 But I guess that as long as they can come out with quips such as the one about Einar, they're covered - and so are we. 😁😂
@@isey4482 I want to push back a bit on the idea that what they're satirizing is "run of the mill commercial bands". That seems so much smaller than the ideas that they're trying to get across. I mean, we've had this conversation elsewhere, so I think you get that. I also think that adjusting to your audience is not the same as "selling out" or whatever. I think if the message is the most important thing, you do what you need to make sure it is received. A message that isn't received can't be effective.
And as for the glimpse of real mixed in with the satire, I really appreciated it, honestly. It was a lovely moment that is very unusual for them.

Thank you for asking them interesting questions and leaning into their sense of humor! I was bracing myself for cringe-y-ness because so many interviews with them become super weird and awkward, but this was great and I actually felt like I got to understand their views and outlook better!
i was getting goosbums when william was asking them : what will happen if you will win Eurovision and that we will go to Iceland. that would be AMAZING and i hope that it will happen that song is something that we have never heard i think at eurovision so its very unique and i just really hope that this year we will have a winner ho has never won the contest before and if it will happen i think that all the winning scandinavian countries list is complete .

In another interview, Matthías joked that they are drafting a letter of apology to the Icelandic people in the event that they win because hosting would overload the economy. Would Reykjavik even have a venue big enough? It's not a very big city.
