Another good one brother...and yes get another alternator with the warranty and check all grounds and redo them and you should be good😎
Seems more like loose or bad connection. Maybe bad terminal too. This is why I have a volt gauge on a charge port just to monitor it
When you say terminal do you think it's that fuseable link. I'm going to check that out. If you know anything right now this Texas heat is a killer. Got to do it when it's cooler outside lol
@@GIOVANNITH3G35FAN the clamp thingys that bolt tight on your posts. Or maybe just corroding and not getting power thru. It just seems like it’s on the positive side. It has voltage but it’s not getting thru
If your lights are not coming on at all, its not the alternator. The battery alone will power on your dash lights.
Yeah I think it's a issue with the wiring or terminals
The 2nd voltage test you ran when the car could not power up is incorrect. The alternator didn't have the power to generate the expected voltage increase as you could not switch the engine on to key position 1/2. Have you checked the grounds? Are they all clean and tight? It's a little strange that it is intermittent. I would only use a Nissan alternator. I bought a re-manufactured one from eBay. It was a waste of time. Although the battery light went out, checking the voltages showed that it did not actually charge the battery.
Naw haven't checked that I was going to have to lift up the car and check the connection on the alternator. Also what I've heard is Nissan alternators are the best. The one I have is from AutoZone. Got it like 4 years ago
@@GIOVANNITH3G35FAN Yes, give it a go. Pretty sure when I had my alternator issue, it was combined with a bad ground too which made it more difficult for me to resolve. It does appear that your alternator is working, but it did fluctuate a bit. It'd be interesting to see if it was more stable with an OEM one.
I'm going to have to try that out but being that my alternator that I have is under warranty idk if I should just replace it with the one from AutoZone or spend money on a new one. There pretty pricey
jeez, that engine bay makes you look like you live in Texas.....oh wait lol i kid. clean the battery terminals besides what we already spoke about.
Yeah I'm thinking of cleaning the grounds
@@GIOVANNITH3G35FAN cant really clean the ground cuz with the dirt, itll be the same in 2 minutes. OH YOU MEAN the car grounds.....ha ha.....ill let myself out
Lol
Can’t you get the alternator tested?
I would have to take the car to go get test but the thing is the car dies out after driving for so much feet. Then I get stranded.
