"They don't have a top class squad like Liverpool". Liverpool literally spent only a fraction of what United spend. There was nothing stopping United from going out and getting Salah, Luis Diaz, VVD, Jota etc etc. Liverpool take average/above average players and turn them in to superstars. United take potential superstars and turn them in to average players. McGuire was more expensive than VVD, how can anyone defend that? No vision. Poor recruitment. That's the big difference

The players have to look at themselves, almost the whole team. Youth is the way to moving forward for United like how SAF did it for 95/96 season! Fred should look at his own game before talking about long term planning by the club. Ole was nice to this bunch and we all know what they did to him. Fernandes Ronaldo Maguire Pogba Shaw Rashford the list is soooo long. They are so inconsistent whether they are meeting a strong team or team at the bottom of the premiership, these players show a lack of heart for the club and fans. At least RR subs are effective! It's not rocket science - Liverpool & City have squads full of players who work hard alongside their ability.
Man Utd have lots of quality but no work ethic.
A manager can only do so much to get players working hard without the ball.
Pogba hasn't put a shift in for his entire career & has worked under some good managers at Utd - he's 28, his attitude won't be changed now.
Utd could do with buying some experienced Premiership players (27-28) who are noted for working hard but not having the best ability to be the new leaders of the team & then bring through younger players with ability to have the proper work ethic instilled in them by those players.
But I can't see them doing it.

They have their best squad in a fair decade right now. No reason why they can't win it if they keep progressing under Ralf. Isn't their squad more expensive than City's lol?

No. Bluntly but honestly, Man United didn't show that they have the pedigree to win the Champions League. Much too less in quality to be in the quarter finals, since they failed to convince anyone that they can beat Atletico Madrid. Don't see that Man United will see them off at the Old Trefford either.
