Sennheiser IE 300 Review - 300 or 400?

- The Sennheiser IE 300 is the company’s audiophile answer to their own PRO series. It is leaning strongly on the Sennheiser IE 400 PRO, sonically, with a warm and safe signature retaining the 400’s bass boost.

Nice review!
Another Good Review by the Good Dr. Many thanks.
I have both these and the IE800 from a few years back.
And I am glad to say that these IE300 sound better. More linear, tighter faster bass, and better mid freq transparency. And much cheaper also. Cheers
Better than Ie400 and ie 800?
how is the soundstage and vocals?
Excellent review, appreciate the comparison. I have the opportunity to purchase the IE400 for much lower than the IE300 (deep sale). Im curious if the graphing for the IE300 was done with the supplied tips, or the spin fits?
very nice setup, i like it
Tolles Review :)
Danke!
appreciate your review in english, dr. very easy to understand.
I have lived in Canada since 1992.
Fellow german here... very enjoyable review
Guten Tag! Ich bin auch Kanadier.
Nice quick review Jurgen.
Good to hear the 300 is to your liking.
But does not BASS sometimes overshadow the other frequencies ?
Yes, Marcin, kind of, the lower midrange can be congested.
Great comparison. Have you heard any of the Shure Aonic series, which are single BA up to hybrid BA + DD for around the same price as these? Thx.
Sorry, no!
I bought these very recently, it has been a long time since I used a Sennheiser. Some lukewarm reviews put me off trying them which was foolish of me. I wish I had bought them earlier, I was very surprised at how good they sound to me. I think they're a bargain at their current price.
I like your review a lot and as a German I understand you very got with your accent. ;)
It is interesting you also are not satisfied with the Tips. Did you ever try the Beyerdynamics Xelento Tips? They go up to 3XL and they snuggle up more to the funnel of the ear canal. With the 4 gr the IE 300 and also the IE 900 are amazing in comfort waering them and provide best seal with those Tips.
No, but I wished I did.
If you have These 2 IEMs can you compare Xelento with Ie 300?
Great review!
I've enjoyed Sennheiser products in the past, but in typical Sennheiser manner they make it hard to upgrade the cables and earpads/tips. I find that so frustrating!!
Hey Sir. I have a pair of Hd599. Out of these 2 IEMs. Do the 400 Pro sound better than my HD599? Great video!!
You cannot compare iems and headphones. But my HD 600 definitely offer better sound than any of my iems.
Thanks, good stuff. Would you say there's any technical difference here - I.e., does ie400 have better imaging or detail?
The ie300 are a minimally better, technically. But the ie400 Pro are Made in Germany. I'd go for the better deal.
Good review! In your opinion, is there any good-decent European earphone (Made in EU or Designed/Tuned in EU but made in elsewhere) in the budget range of 50-150€?
Beyerdynamic Should Byrd is the only one I could think of...it is about 80 Euros, sounds ok, but lacks detail. The earpieces are very small, light, and comfortable.
I bought it as an open box from amazon.ca for $58 CAD.
@@audioreviews It is sad that Europe don't have players in this budget IEM segment. What about Meze? Did you try Meze 11 Neo or Meze 12 Classics? There is even brand new 12 Classics V2 for about 70€. I like how they look but not sure about sound quality.
@@dalmatirac Sorry, no!
Sounds like the kind of tuning I'd like. Have you tried the IE 80 S? I know it's quite old now, but I'm curious how it compares to the other Sennheisers. The Bluetooth version is massively discounted now in the UK to under £100, and the Bluetooth element can be replaced with a conventional wire.
IE 80S I don't know...but it is kinda old.
IE 400 Pro is just clearer version of IE 80 S, detail retrieval almost same, bass little punchier.
I also bought Shure Aonic 4 and I tried IE 500 PRO in the past.
Aonics has superior midrange clarity than both IE PROs
How would you compare these to the Moondrop Starfield or Aria?
Totally different.
Hello kind sir i have a little problem, i just tried to clean my ie400 pro and it seems that the alcohol i used disolved the glue inside the tips...
Since you adivised me so well( and i really thank you for that, those are awesome!) could you advise me some great tips ? I liked the foam one but if you have something you think that are better i'm all ears!
Thanks again and have a good day!
Sennheiser offers replacement tips. You could also try SpinFit CP100
@@audioreviews thanks a lot i will try thoses
Hello sir, I need your help here.
I listened to IE 500 PRO for few hours and while I was super impressed with its soundstage and sub bass response, It became uncomfortable for me with its (high frequency) sound. It was bright and fatiguing for me so I returned it, it was genuine purchase from Amazon India and I verified it with Sennheiser too.
I listen to DD iems from Shure (SE 215) and Sennheiser IE 80 S.
I am planning to decide between these two IEMs IE 300 and IE 400 PRO. The one will softer treble response, least fatiguing (treble) sound would be my choice.
IE400.
@@audioreviews So, IE 400 PRO it is for Black Friday sale.
Thank you so much helping me out 🙏🏼
hello, great review, i actually have my eyes on the ie 400 pro and ie300, at the same price what would you advise me to buy? thanks for the viewpoint, have a good day!
At the same price, I would buy the IE 400 PRO.
Reasoning: Made in Germany, more comfortable through longer nozzles, and better eartips.
The sonic differences are negligible imo.
@@audioreviews thanks a lot you helped me a lot to make my decision!
@@audioreviews There's actually also 'foam' tips included. Haven't you found those? They have a special filter inside the tip that eases the highs/treble.
@@MarsJimmy Yes, but foams don't do it for me, generally. Take all sparkle out for my ears.
I'm able to get them for 189e, worth it at the price? Any other ideas around that price point? Subbed to the channel, liking the no bs style, keep it up!
Yes, worth the price, but this does not mean you will like them.
Nice review, ! Just donated 5$, its not much but someone had to start ;) Weiter so ...
thank you very much!
What about the ie 100 Pro?
Is it not worthy of a mention?
Does not exist here in Canada. Is a variant of the IE 40 PRO, which is very good. And much cheaper...
0:42 thats always 2 Shure SM57 (with a Shure A2WS windscreen) 🙂
Ja schon, kann ich jetzt auch nicht mehr ändern ;).
Comparison with Tanchjim Oxygen?
Don't know it.
too v-shaped sound and thunderous bass which is a bit muddy, the recessed mids make the upper highs piercing and the lows lacking in attack. the tonality is spot on and the soundstage is great though! in their price range i do prefer many other iems, so the best for me are the ie 40pro, in the 90 euro range they are hard to beat
The 40s are indeed not much worse but they have more boosted higher treble.
These ones or meze rai solo?
Don't know, both are different.
Ie 400 pro 100 euro more then ie 300? Worth it?
No, go for the best price.
I have these ordered and bought a higher quantity cable. They must be shock proof they way you just threw them down. 😃
You may not be able to connect your cable as these Senns sockets are recessed. I could not connect the one I tried. Sennheiser are issuing a balanced cable for this.
@@audioreviews I am getting the Brand: Lincoln
Linsoul Tripowin Zonie 16 Core
@@audioreviews Thanks for letting me know. I have cancelled them
Do you think they are worth the asking price.
@@frozengamer3030 Hmmm...difficult as pricing of such iems is all over the place.
If you are rich: yes!
If you have to save for 2 years: no! Then I would take the IE 40 PRO...which are great value imo...and the IE 300 are not worth three times the IE 40 PRO's price.
When I take the Sennheiser HD6XX headphones @ $225 as reference, all iems are overpriced.
ie400pro made in Germany but they feel really cheap!
All of Sennheiser's stuff is plastic...but good plastic...which is light.
Pretty sure Brandon doesn't even know what a microphone is. lol
