Totally agree to what you said. The bungee chord is new to me. I‘ll sure try that one out.

Great tips! Like you said, making sure they're 'involved' is super important. I included some geocaching, which made the 'adventure' a little more exciting. At age 6 my son was knackered after cycling 10km's around town, now 3yrs later we're doing +60km days on gravel/single track. It's amazing. ❤

Great video ! I Did my first father and son bikepack adventure last year. My son was 8, we did 15km to a camping spot, came back the following day. He carried his own sleeping kit and clothes, was a great adventure ! Will do again this summer

Thank you, my son who is 5 end of july loves cycling, we typically do a 3-4 mile round trip, and I am doing my first solo back packing trip, early june. I really love the idea of doing a trip together in my local area.
Just browsing the nearly wild camping website as we speak :) Love the towhee as well, did you use it all the time or just when going up and down hills?

I only used it when she got tired. Definitely don't use it going down hills, it's best for uphill even if it's just a slight incline

      How did your bikepacking go.
      What route did you do.
I completed my solo trip up the pedders way.
      Now completely hooked.
Trying to plan a another short 1 this summer.
( When I get a replacement bike. Had my Scott aspect and my son's obera MTB stolen a few days ago )

Wish we had right to roam laws in the US or else I'd be bikepacking a lot more. Instead we have to find private or state run campsites and make reservations or else you can be charged for trespassing, even in public parks.

When we go camping the kids bedtimes doesn't exist.
Kids go at it until they've had enough.

Great video thankyou. I'd love to do this. How to you make sure you are both safe camping over night though? Some not nice people out there and it puts me off doing this, even if I was with a friend.

The places we stay are not exactly crime hot spots! We feel perfectly safe

Your like button isn't working for me, wee lass. Very fun ideas, probably very helpful to many. What's up with the like button not registering likes?
