The way I see it, as long as you help him complete his masterpiece, he’ll be happy to help you with your ghost collection. His work, the filming and editing, is done! Besides, it just so happens that the unnamed regular ghosts are set free at the end, why not one who wishes no harm onto anybody?
All of the ghosts except Hellen, King Boo, and the Boos were mind controlled. So all of them, except the ones mention before, were freed.
Now I feel bad for capturing him before he finished editing 😬
@@PonandCon9025 I’m pretty sure they were not mind controlled. In fact, I think that King Boo and Hellen had to convince the rest of the ghosts, due to King Boo’s power weakening by the time the third game happened

Fun fact: If you try to vacuum him up while he's editing and then stop, he'll just keep editing. If you try to vacuum him up after he's finished the movie and then stop, he'll collapse onto the table in exhaustion.

I was so mad in the first game because of this. I didnt want to capture Madame Clarvoya but they lock you inside and just give you the reason that she says like “sweet happiness in oils”. After all she helped luigi back in that game they did her dirty. At least they gave you am option here.

I like how whenever a Luigi Mansion introduces portrait ghosts of some kind, there is always one ghost who doesn't want to harm Luigi in anyway whatsoever.
Fun fact : even when you catch him (you better do it after the movie is done) he will just chill in gallery and won't look mad, so he's fine with it
*How I like to think of this tragedy:* Morty was an amazing director back when he was alive. He had some unfinished business tho, he wanted to make one more great film. Luigi like the boss that he is, not only helped him make the film but gave him time to edit and finalize it. A few floors later, Luigi came back to see the masterpiece that was created, then Morty was truly content and was able to Rest In Peace now. Luigi sadly sucked him 👀 up and helped him pass on to the next world.......or uhh life.........whatever the hell u believe in. *The end* 😢

Aww cute but in the end he came out of the poltergeist and saw that the hostel became damaged he became sad but e Gadd told him that the film was safe that made Morty smile and hug e Gadd the other ghost as well then they saw that the hotel was damaged e Gadd gave them and Morty helmets and began building the holtel
The only thing I'm missing to 100% the game is Morty and for once, I'm ok with that

You can wait for him to finish the movie and then capture him. So it works for both of you, He gets to make the masterpiece he's been working for his entire Life, and you can capture him for the collection.

My favorite boss ghost is King Boo (2nd favorite is Hellen Gravely and 3rd favorite is Amadeus Wolfgeist) but Morty is my favorite character in the game.
Times sure have changed. I remember back in the days, it felt like everyone around me wanted to be the villain, and as someone who likes being good more than evil, I felt alone on that. Now it feels like everyone's choosing the good option, so I no longer feel alone in that regard.

Morty's the only ghost in the game that doesn't wanna scare anyone. He just wants to make movies.
In his years of living never has Morty ever attained his desired masterpiece. When he died he slaved away countless centuries time again and again searching for that perfect shot. It wasn't until Luigi came to his abode that Morty found the inspiration he was yearning for. Morty should join the gang with Mario, Luigi, and the rest of the crew including the Pulter Pup ofcourse to the Mushroom Kingdom where he can spend the rest of his days happy. Until Lugi's Mansion4 is made lol.

Having Morty be just a passionate film maker who loves his job and an overall chill guy is so refreshing. He's a nice break from everyone else trying to put Luigi on a t-shirt.
i ran here after capturing Morty and realizing i didnt have to. I was devastated. If this sequence was earlier in the game i may have restarted the whole thing.
When you think about it, Morty's art/career is tragically screwed whether you choose to catch him or not.
Catching him before he completes his movie is self-explanatory as seen in the video. BUT even if you don't catch him and let him make his movie, the mansion will still get destroyed after Luigi sucks up King Boo, basically destroying everything that Morty created beforehand, as well as the film you both work so hard on to complete for him. Morty's in a no-win situation regardless.
Personally, I would've liked to have seen either more of Morty (possibly during the ending cutscenes/credits) or another cutscene with King Boo and Hellen Gravely punishing Morty by trapping him in a picture frame for helping Luigi get closer to his friends, only to get released at the end and then resume making movies
I wish we could've seen either of those as an alternate path/ending.

Oof, that was something I asked myself alot. In game, I wondered why was it was I was going about vacuuming up ghosts?
Because mostly they either attacked me first, did something rather mean, or I did somewhat annoy them to cause an attack. But Morty here didn't seem to do anything to me, I was little on edge at being backstabbed. But no, he just wanna write his movie in peace. Boy, I'm okay with that, I'll just be on my way.

I think the only thing that happens when you don't capture him is you don't get the achievement. The fact that it is an achievement is quite sad. It made me sad when I saw it at the bottom. It was not worth it 😭
