Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on CZcams, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on CZcams. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on CZcams, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

Anytime my husband and I hear this song, we can’t help but fall into each other’s arms and dance, after 42 years💕😽🎶
The number one thing that usually stands out to me in doo wop songs is the infectious melodies. You don't need background instrumentation, just the main vocal, and you'll be humming the song all day long. 😊
It’s the harmony for me.
When music was romantic!
The essence of doowop.
If we are finally hearing The Flamingos, can The Platters be far behind? Loved those groups in the late 50's early 60's. So very good, sigh. Blessings all. Have a cool day.
I got married in 1990 but our wedding song was Only You -- that's how resonant it was with the next generation.
This song was written in 1934.
I remember that this was a favorite with bands playing dances in the mid - late 60's . Bands would close with this for a slow last dance.
Also, many times it was a "ladies choice". Remember those?
Mmm this is one of the lowrider oldies I would hear coming from the cars cruising the blvd when I was a kid in the 70s. I love this song. It's so smooth!
I loved the Doo wop era, so many great groups, The Platters were another great group, fire!
Art garfunkel does this well too.
So smooth. Now you must react to the Art Garfunkle version because it is glorious.
My father played on this session as an uncredited musician. That guitar part is his. And I'm looking at the guitar he played it on, about 3ft from where I'm sitting, a 1958 Grestch 6124 Single Anniversary. He was the guitar player known as Smiler.
Ah yes! Great song and reaction! Ive always loved this song! Someone mentioned the Platters… yes…you should go there too! “Only you” .. “The Great Pretender” .. “Smoke gets in your eyes” .. “Twilight Time” etc. Thanks Shawn! 😀
For me, Shawn, this was one of the top three songs of the DooWop era. The other two are "Since I Don't Have You" and "This I Swear", both by the Skyliners. If you haven't reacted to them yet, you really should, you won't regret it!
The Flamingos were one of the early 50's doo-wop groups. They were known for their great harmonies & choreography moves. They influenced other acts such as The Temptations later on. "I Only Have Eyes For You" is their biggest hit but they had quite a few good songs "If I Can't Have You", "That's My Desire", "Golden Teardrops", "I'll Be Home", "Lovers Never Say Goodbye" etc.
Love this song! Always been one of my favorites!...I think it's one of the dreamiest sounding songs. 🥰....Enjoy watching your reactions.
This was a song from 1934 ! There were a number of " oldies remakes " around that time..... and they were all great. Like de Jay vou all over again. Blue moon by the Marcells, I think, comes to mind.... thanks for going there !
I love this song! I first heard this song on an oldies radio station, and instantly loved it. It's sweet, sexy, and warm.
If you haven’t seen the movie American Graffiti I highly recommend it. Great music and lots of stars before they were famous. And it’s by George Lucas!
It's a school DooWop song. After Simon & Garfunkel parted ways, Art Garfunkel did a stunningly beautiful version of this song. His pure choir boy voice on his slightly slowed down cover is iconic.
What can I say, still some of the best music. I am 76 years old and when friends get together we still play this music
Shawn....I grew up with Doo Wops. Love them. The music of the 50s is referred to as the Doo Wop era. Not all songs are Doo Wops. They had a unique sound all their own that you could 'feel'. Everyone who grew up listening to them, knows what I mean.
I remember dancing to this at about 12 years old at the Saturday night dances in the projects. These guys were one of the top doo-wop groups. They did some other songs that were old songs they arranged doo-wop versions of, even one, "Old Man River", that went back to 1925! I enjoyed your reaction as well as listening to this again.
What the last few generations are not aware of is that many of these melodies that were hits in the 50's and 60's were written in the 1920's and 1930's. This particular song was written in 1934. "I Only Have Eyes for You" is a romantic love song by composer Harry Warren and lyricist Al Dubin, written for the film Dames (1934) when Dick Powell introduced it. I've seen young people would be amazed that people were very talented and wrote some of the most beautiful songs ever written by composers like, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, George and Ira Gershwin, and my favorite, Irvin Berlin.
So beautiful! Love this song.
Definitely Doo Wop. Grew up listening to this (my older brother played this a lot). Would love to hear some Little Anthony and The Imperials (Hurt So Bad / Tears on My Pillow).
Art Garfunkel's version wasn't a single but was part of his 1975 album "Watermark", which is best known for the hit single "My Little Town" featuring his former partner Paul Simon who also included it on his album "Still Crazy After All These Years".
Beautiful!!! 🥰🥰🥰
Great reaction. I would like to suggest that you check out " You Send Me" by Sam Cooke.
This was a favorite song of my parents and it's one of mine as well. Beautiful in every way.
I grew up in a much older family (older brothers and sisters...I was probably an accident). and I have memories of these old songs as a child. I must say, it has helped in my overall perspectives in music. And this is one of the songs that stands out. Don't know why.
Oh yeah Shawn, you gotta do more Doo-Wop! Just the coolest groove ever 😎
One of the great love songs of all time! Art Garfunkel has a great cover of this legendary song which he made on one of his solo albums, maybe the Angel Clare album?
Lol...wow. been a hot minute since I heard thus. Nice one brother ☘️🇺🇲
💖💖💖
The LYRICS ❤❤❤❤
Now that's music !!!
way before my time too and STILL fir right here!!! doo wop 50's
So sick of today's society. This is a reminder of better times.
Zapp ( Roger Troutman ) did a cool cover of this song
Another great doo wop ballad is the Heartbeats-A Thousand Miles away from 1956.
Dick powells version is great, you should react on youtube.
I love both versions
The Flamingos were
Not your average doowoppers. Nate Nelson on lead on this 1930s tune
Love those Doo wop Doo wops
Great song that I have not heard i many years. Nice! It strikes me what an odd song this is (in a good way). It doesn't follow a A-B, verse-chorus pattern, and it doesn't really have a bridge. Even the chord structure and key it's in is ambiguous. Interesting! Buttery smooth, indeed.
Check out Art Garfunkel’s cover.
Soooo, stirring. I wish my pre-husband sang this to me. I'd melt.
Ear candy!!!!
Definitely doowop. Nonsense syllables aren't necessary but they give the game away.
Always thought this song is so creepy.
BEAUTIFUL and so romantic.
