Best reaction I’ve seen to this song. Bowie isn’t my favorite but I love seeing reactions and yours is head and shoulders above the rest. Your Beauty and Brains.
    ❤😊

David Bowie started in the 60's and was one of the biggest stars of the 70's, 80's 90's and 2000's. He kept changing and growing.

Seeing him on Old Grey Whistle test, reminds me, that guys of David Bowie's generation, they grew up with pianos in their homes in England (I am from England in my 50's, and my father used to play the piano in the home) everyone in England during that era just had a piano, and played it, you used to buy piano music sheets from the shop and everyone would gather around the Joanna (piano) and sing songs

The musicians were his backing band in the early seventies called The Spiders From Mars (after the title of his 1972 album "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars"). This is a very unconventional choice for a first reaction to David Bowie but there is really no bad place to start. His look at that point was kind of transitional. In 1971 he still had very long hair and already in late 1972 he had a bright orangey-red mullet (his iconic Ziggy Stardust look, completed with shaved eyebrows in 1973).

I think this was off his album Hunky Dory. Another good one is a song called Kooks which he wrote for his kids or maybe kids in general. His first 4 or 5 albums are the best, imo.

The young Bowie, right on the cusp, soon he would change the world forever, with his mindblowing music stagecraft and beauty.

Bowie is one of my absolute faves. A treasure. Bowie always had interesting looks, and he changed his look every album he made. This song was from 1971 (the year I was born.)

bhahahaaha he has an interesting look to him yes my dear we have been asking the same thing for years. but the answer really he was(he died unfortunately)A chameleon both in looks and in voice his eyes would even change colours naturally, but he was gifted to say the least, wrote very catchy songs and enjoyed his music for 30 year now.

Early Bowie, like this, is my favorite. I believe this was from the album “Hunky Dory.” For a deep dive from this album try “The Bewlay Brothers.” Bowie was unique and quirky in those days, and that’s what makes his music so memorable.

This song was on a very early Bowie album - but, even then, Bowie was able to attract top tier musicians - for example, Rick Wakeman laid down the original piano part -whre as, on this version we have "The Spiders From Mars" providing the backing track (possibly) on this BBC session for The Old Grey Whistle Test - ah, fab and very precious, for 15minutes, DB's attention span...

Life on Mars? from the same album. This was the track that at age 14 confirmed for me that I should become a musician. I'm 66 years old now and that song still sends shivers up my spine. Congratulations on your channel. I look forward to your future postings.

How old is Bowie? In what year? This was early 1970s He changed his look and sound constantly and was seemingly ageless until he died. One of the greatest rock artists ever.

First time hearing this song. That was cool! You may have heard his song Moonage Daydream in the movies Guardians Of The Galaxy & School Of Rock ( both movies I recommend you watch, if you haven't seen them yet.), I also recommend his song Let's Dance ( Stevie Ray Vaughan plays guitar in this song! I know you like Stevie!), China Girl is another good song

Yes David Bowie was great. My favorite singer. I saw him 3 times in a concert. 😊 He was amazing! I would suggest to react to: China Girl, Modern Love and Never Let me Down.

I'd be shocked if you didn't know more of Bowie's tunes. So many come to mind... "Lets Dance", "Fame", "Young Americans", "Lady Stardust", "Starman"... so many.

Thanks to post Bowie, the chameleon. Unique and unrepeatable artist, considered the one who most influenced youth, artists, composers, clothing designers and revolutionized more than one generation.
Chameleon who created alter egos at each stage of his productions. Ziggy Stardust, White Thin Duke, Aladin Sane, etc.
Totally ahead of his time, you can check out hundreds of his songs and there is not one similar to another. Composer, performer, producer, actor of both theater and film. Like a great androgenic star coming from the sky, he worked and created wonders until the day he died.
Check images from all his periods on the internet and you will understand Bowie and you will be amazed and its gonna blow your mind.
If you want to see a legendary concert look for Bowie live Hammersmith Odeon 1973 and you will see the purest Bowie.
At that concert, just before performing Rock and Roll Suicide, Bowie in a short speech said goodbye to the tour and broke up with the band, surprising everyone and his band The Spiders from Mars.
As a great fan of eartly Bowie i'll be so happy if you do some more Bowie reactions.
    Keep on rocking beauty❤
    Greetings from Barcelona

    Wake up you sleepy head
    Put on some clothes
    Shake up your bed
Put another log on the fire for me
I've made some breakfast and coffee
Look out my window and what do I see
    A crack in the sky
And a hand reaching down to me
    All the nightmares came today
And it looks as though they're here to stay
    What are we coming to
    No room for me
    No fun for you
I think about a world to come
Where the books were found by the golden ones
Written in pain, written in awe
By a puzzled man who questioned
    What we were here for
    All the strangers came today
And it looks as though they're here to stay
    Oh you pretty things
Don't you know you're driving your mamas and papas insane
    Oh you pretty things
Don't you know you're driving your mamas and papas insane
    Let me make it plain
    You gotta make way
    For the homo superior
    Look out at your children
See their faces in golden rays
Don't kid yourself they belong to you
They're the start of the coming race
The earth is a bitch we've finished our news
Homo sapiens have outgrown their use
    All the strangers came today
And it looks as though they're here to stay
    Oh you pretty things
Don't you know you're driving your mamas and papas insane
    Oh you pretty things
Don't you know you're driving your mamas and papas insane
    Let me make it plain
    Gotta make way
    For the homo superior

I believe that this song was written about Bowie’s brother who had Schizophrenia and later tragically died from it. Very sad. David was amazing and seemed to care a lot about people

Hi, this one is an early one from Bowie. His work only got better with time IMHO.
I would suggest, for the sake of context, to watch the film The Falcon And The Snowman (a real brain-twister), then listen (react) to the original theme "This Is Not America", performed by Pat Metheny and David Bowie.
One of the deepest films produced.

David has so many hits and great unique sounds. I'd suggest starting at his first LP, 'David Bowie' and working forward. Your number of likes and subs will multiply. But are you ready for that?
