This guy is like a millennial hipster barista cosplaying as a butcher 😂
i want to see some of the tools that you make the other butchers use like the tomahawk and all the others.
I love when he walks away from the band saw the first time he has the blue gloves and when they show him walking back to the table the gloves are off
28 years started at 12 I would love to get in on this show . Love to see some of my retired butchers show you how to do this .The judges look silly .
He must be an apprentice 🤔 good luck with your apprenticeship Dave✌🍺🍺I'm retired after 38 years cutting meat😏🥩
To my future meat cutter/butcher friends, whatever you do, DON'T CUT SHORTLOINS LIKE THAT.
Thank you.
If i did anything this guy does id be fired in a heartbeat
Amen to that!
5 minute ad for a bandsaw
You are great
Nothing goes to waste except those wedge cuts that would be rejected by yourself on the show that you judge on and all the other waste you created in that short loin that is still sitting on the saw in the background
I’m so sad that the history channel gave up history
Sorta like tlc used to be "the learning channel" and mtv "music television"... Nothing new bud
If I cut a steak that crooked id be fired. Mistakes happen but when your filming something you should have nothing but perfect cuts. Goood to know a fancy saw like that can still cut crooked
Haaaaaa
As a meat cutter, this whole video frustrates me
You have me curious. Im not experienced. Why does this bother you? No, im not trolling you. For wisdom and insight. Frfr.
Poor lil girl. Go back to cutting your deli slices
No one would ever cut a short loin this way.
As a meat cutter I agree
@@Jesus_Is_King_of_Kings7777 you are never to cut facing the blade like that. The blade could jerk the meat and pull a part of you into the blade. Also you would use the guard plate to cut as thin a piece of the bone as possible then move the plate back like an inch or less to cut off the rig. Another thing is his point about the blade ripping through the meat. The problem with this is the best cut of meat his way is being "ripped" by the saw blade that being the tenderloin or filet. If you cut this way in any place in the USA that sells meat you would get fired on the spot.
If a butcher treated our animals like that, he’d be in the case.
Just for reference, there is a 2 nd guard for the band saw for pushing the meat and keeping it in place.
Coulda used that steak as a door stop.. Bad slicer here
Admiral Aegis Haaa.
I'm a meat cutter in a supermarket, but I work with an old-school butcher and he says the exact same thing! Lol
He refuses to face large pieces of meat like they did in the video. He uses the rough ends for thin steaks and tapers it down with shallow slices until it's faced. Takes a little more time to do but it's more cost-effective in the long run.
Door stop alert 🥩👀
Ya lost me at meat hook to pick up the shortloin and/or meat hook in tenderloin..
my goodness, look at all that shrink.
Haye haye
Solid video, killer TV show.
I want a steak now
Jesus Christ, if my boss caught me cutting steaks like that, I’d be strung up by my nuts
Wow. Looks like The History Channel finally got a comedy show.
Wtf did you need the hooks for?
You don’t, he’s role playing this guy sucks I wouldn’t want him cutting meat for my department lol
Hi Dave hope you’re doing well I know you read all the comments 😊
Who makes the saw?
Scott...
Yo Pete
Before the bandsaw they used cleavers and a massive knife called a poacher saw just to get the meat off. The poacher saw takes skill if you don't use it right you will destroy your primes and the meat will be rejected by the inspector thats why you have to get it right.
Only reason I liked is the thickness of those steaks
My husband cut his pinkie finger tip of doing this about 8 years ago. Wished where he worked had this bandsaw
Kim Ellis I hope your husband is ok kim
Yes he is thank you yeah he runs heavy equipment
Never cut a steak less than 1 and 1/4 inch thick.
Makin me hungry!
If you use meat as a hand guard in some stores you will be fired.
Which is so weird to me. I work for Albertson's and they actually tell us to use meat as a guard ( I think it's because they're stingy and they refuse to update the equipment in most stores)
This dude STINKS 😂
Um what? Why bother with knifing if you're just going to use the bandsaw anyway? If you're going to knife it, finish it with a handsaw. I know if I was caught doing what he is, I'd be looking for a new job.
Just watched Roxanne's Rack before this.
That is the dumbest way to cut a short loin
Screaming internally at the waste and inefficiency. That 'square' cut did nothing because he still had a wedge steak afterwards... but what do I know I do this 60 hours a week
Literally no one would cut a loin this way 🤦♂️ 😂
Why tf are you cleaning the whole strip loin if it has been cut yet 🤣🤣🤣
Why is no one else commenting
This is sorta' like history. People ate meat long ago.
This guy is a butcher? Watching this is literally making me scream at my screen. Guy produced a door stopper for a steak and chined way too much bone. Super wasteful. And cut fat side up on the saw. Why is this guy telling us how to cut meat. You’d be made fun of and fired day one at any butcher shop.
Made that look easy
Every butcher has them 🤷🏻♂️
im way to rich to be a butcher
The contestants on this show are partly clueless, its embarrassing to watch. The bald guy with most experience uses a wood saw? The woman destroyed the pig from the start... does this show get better more experienced professionals to compete or what?
Woodlawn? You mean a hacksaw.
Only good one was the bearded butcher
@@giacomobrunello1453 he was robbed to he should have easily of won
Canceled
Soap is made out of animal fat???
Good video, i needed to see how to cut bone. However, this is a power tool, no different from construction. You need to be wearing goggles, and taking off your ring and watch, which can catch on things. Bone fragments can fly into your eye. Not safe.
You are very skilled - a joy watching you trim that meat! Please make dog scrap packages from trim. I buy a lot for my dogs - and need both fat and meat and pieces of bone. Cooked bone becomes bone broth (cannot feed cooked bones to dog, only the broth part), raw bones are for dog chewing. You can sell a lot to dog owners with dog food recipes attached. The dogs will appreciate it and get better nutrition than this awful kibble junk.
Never a good idea to add music. Drowned out the voice and irritated my ears.
🤔either he's a man who knows how to cut a steak for a girlie OR I'm a girlie who knows she loves steak...BOTH??😉👍
What he said is a lie about the wolf named Apache.
HC you kidding this is a show, why not let us watch ice melt , out in the woods with wild animals?
omg what are theese trash new shows :DDDD
i hate this show they never cook the meat
Well it’s not a cooking show.
this is terrible
this guy is not an experienced butcher. so many mistakes. never seen someone just cut steaks out of the end of a short loin like that without shaving the bone down for a shell steak.
I'm not impressed at all.
