This palace has me about ready to rip every single fucking hair out of my body and jump into a fucking trash compactor. I’ve come this far in this difficult ass game, I have to beat it now. Whoever says death mountain is the hardest part of the game is crazy.
I think DM is notorious for the difficulty spike that hits you in the face when you first encounter it. Its overall difficulty is manageable, especially after you figure out the route.
The only good thing about the final palace is that it's the only place in the game where dying will bring you back to the start instead of the temple, instead of, y'know, THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE GAME.
Actually, they are sanctuaries/temples. I'm not sure I ever decided on a favorite. I like how they increase, in size, as the game progresses. The final two temples probably stand out the most for me. They're both difficult and have multiple boss fights.
I don't remember how I did this when I was a kid but I did. I remember cheesing several rooms with the faerie spell though. This almost seems TAS'd. Good job.
For the first Blue Fokka, you can just just stay on top of the blocks, like you see me do in this video at the 2:42 mark. For some reason, this Blue Fokka didn't appear but it usually does. For the second one, just wait for it to jump over you to the left and then make a run for it to the right. If it appears in the narrow section, then just leave and re-enter until it gives you more room.

Im glad they decided to finally give the checkpoint here I was kinda frustrated every time I would have to start from the beginning and go to the dungeons again after getting defeated by the bosses of a temple of this game and also what’s ur favorite song of the game

You mean the projectile from its sword? Yeah, that was a close one. If it weren't for the Fokkas being so tricky with their sword attacks, then I'd just stand and face them each time.
@@dreadpiraterobin8379 Death Valley is also much, much shorter and you don't have to deal with any Fokkas or Fokkerus. When I was a kid, I did think Death Valley was difficult. When I finally figured out the timing for the Gerus, it became considerably easier. The Moas are still a tad annoying, at times, but they're really only a threat on graveyard scenes.

It’s weird because there is a room with the blocks, and blue chuchu, where a blue fokka always appears between the two stone structures. But in this walkthrough he doesn’t appear, then all of a sudden when you make it to the end of the room you can see him appear just as you head down. How did this happen? 2:35 Fokka appears 2:48
If you scroll down and peruse the other comments, you'll see that another user brought up this very same thing more than a year ago. I have no idea why the Blue Fokka did not appear until I nearly left that room. This is just something that happens, now and then. I don't know of any trick that allows you to manipulate when/where/if an enemy will spawn.
I believe the developers were much more concerned with dead ends, pits, and making the player feel lost than the number of enemies in the final sanctuary. If you don't know where to go or how to handle the Fokkas and Fokkerus, then you're likely to use up a lot more of your magic and lose some lives. For the uneducated, it's a test of patience and endurance.

I am playing this game on virtual console (3ds) I almost finished this game without any cheat, tutorial or video guide like this, but it was impossible. I spent 2 weeks wandering around pointlessly, practically stuck in this and the previous palace, couldn't finish the game and had to consult. I couldn't believe how it got so difficult towards the end and with a link that is supposed to be at its maximum power 🤣 The worst thing is this final palace, it makes me feel like I was less than 12 years old and couldn't even pass the first palace, parapa, I even died in the forest or the dark cave and it frustrated me so much that I swore never to play this Zelda again. Playing this final palace and losing dozens of lives I was wondering how you are supposed to face the enemies of the palace without losing health and I came here to CZcams to see how someone managed to get away from the bluebirds without damage, but I already saw that they are a damn pain head from the one you have to run away from, I did it too, but I'm still not that good and I always get hurt, losing lives until I'm left with only one before the bosses, who end up striking me down and sending me back to the beginning 😂😬

What are you talking about?? This was done on a NES console with an original cartridge. It's not any kind of weird version. I simply bypassed leveling up Life after it got to Level 3. This was done more than 4 years ago. I assume that the NEXT upgrade is at 9000 because I upgraded my Attack and Magic to the max. Had I reached 9000, then I have every reason to believe that the next Life upgrade would only consume the appropriate amount of experience points (400 or whatever) and that I would likely have been able to upgrade it to the max. This is simply what happens when you neglect one area to upgrade the others.
The video begins with "0100/9000" on the xp counter. that's screwed-- as long as the top number is below 0400, the denominator should be the 0400 required to level up to life-4. In other words, if the top of the fraction is 0100, then it's supposed to say 0100/0400, not 0100/9000. -- Confirming the screwedness of it all is that spicy chicken at 1:15 that takes you from 0300 to 0500 xp, with no pop-up offering an upgrade to life-4 (which should happen at 0400). So yah what's up with this... Ur game literally does not allow you to level past life-3

Ive cheated during this last bosses and im proud of it. You give ma a boss with rly bad hit box and hit detection you burn all my magic Just for me to start do some dmg, and you expect me to play fair? Hell no! And if you die you go to begning of game, like rly? XD
You don't go back to the beginning of the game if you lose a life _unless_ it's your very last life. If you have multiple lives, then you will start at the same screen on which you died. Same goes for bosses. You start right back at the boss as long as you have some lives to spare. Cheating can be fun when you want to get back at the CPU, but there's not much pride to find in it when you're trying to beat a game. I understand your point about the bullshit hitbox, but it's not as if it's impossible. It takes work to do it legit. If you have lives to spare, then you can always sacrifice that first one to get your magic back. If you're attempting a "no death" run, then you can backtrack for two Red Magic Jars. If a Fokka appears, just leave the screen and come back. Link's Shadow was much more balanced in the original version, but Nintendo of America decided to fuck that up for the localization.

@@OmnigmaTheMaster Your sanity is infinitely more important, no doubt about it. I personally find the difficulty of the large area before the final temple to be exaggerated. It's not so tough once you get accustomed to the layouts and patterns of the enemies. Those lizard-like enemies in the narrow spaces can be a pain if you don't have a good strategy, though.

@@OmnigmaTheMaster I don't ever remember fighting the lizard enemies in Death Valley like that. Maybe when I was a kid, but I'm not sure. The cemetery screens are fairly easy to avoid. You just have to know how much time you have until the overworld icons start to appear and where you need to stand so you don't get tagged while in a cemetery area. You don't need a bow and arrow or even the "Fire" spell for the eyeballs. You _could_ use the "Spell" spell, which doesn't cost much magic, to turn them into Bots. That's a good idea if there's three or more of them on the screen. Or you can practice your positioning and timing with the Jump Thrust and Downward Thrust techniques.

As far as I remember, you must watch out for the Bird Knights because they can jump.
The Fokkas are fairly easy once you learn their behavior. They are vulnerable to attack when they jump, as well.

The big frustration I had with Death Valley was that dying there made you go back all the way to the start of the game.
