- This is amazing. The day after the horrific events of June 11 on Taksim Square in Istanbul, this guy, whose name is Davide Martello, shows up with a full Baby Grand piano and starts playing this beautiful music. This is why Istanbul is the most magical city in the world!

He's a german pianist from my home town (I know him), who is traveling around the world with his Piano and spreading minutes of peace. A real hero!
He used to play under the bridge next to my house and now he's in Taksim! Can't believe it... Keep on playing Davide! We need more guys like you!
Yesterday he played for the people and helping hands at Ahrtal, Germany, to bring them hope and peace! A true hero! ❤️
This guy is amazing. A few weeks ago I was walking around the city centre and heard the most beautiful sound ever across the river. It was him, the music was heavenly
Turkey, Brazil is with you! We are also fighting for our rights here. We identify with your struggle. As you can see on the news of the world, the police are suppressing our attitudes ... But have a million people on the streets protesting. And you can not stop until we get a better country without corruption, with quality health and education! WE ARE WITH YOU ... As one Brazilian poet Castro Alves, "THE SQUARE IS THE PEOPLE". And so be it!
We are fast becoming one people on this earth. Thank you Turkey.
I cry everytime i hear this song, beautiful
respect from the netherlands
AWESOME! And don't forget the People United Will Never Be Defeated
Turkey keep going. Can´t stop crying seeing this video. For Democracy, for you, for the people. As for myself, Germany is with you. :-)
It is time for the empowered youth to reclaim our common heritage and destiny, which is the Freedom across the world to express ourselves in a manner that uplifts all people to a place high above the arcane beliefs that have held so many down for so long.
Raise your fists!
its 14 June 2013 - 08.21 am and he is still going, over 10 hours, without even 5 min break. Best thing I ever witnessed in my life
Absolutely fantastic.
Here is the picture of what we Turkish people stand for. This is the sound of hope, freedom and future.
Thank you Martello, for those unforgettable moments.

Unglaublich Mutig! Wunderschön *____* und inspirierend. Ein Zeichen für mehr Humanität und Frieden in unserer Welt. Die Musik hat eine unglaubliche Kraft.
And suddenly the world stood still. Suddenly everyone looked up to that one man playing his piano and trying to bring people back together.
We fight wars, we kill each other, we hate each other but for what reason and for what good?
Why can't we just enjoy life and the world together. We're all different and we all have different interests, but in the end we are all the same. We are beings who want to be loved; who want to be recognized; who want to be taken for who we are. So do it. Love people, recognize people for who they are and stop fighting each other for no good reason. Because there isn't a single good reason.
He's gay? so what!?
He's not white? so what?
He's believing in a different god? So what?
Judge me for the next sentence but what most people haven't realised is that friendship really IS magic.
We have to live together, so either let's continue making earth and life hell or let's make it a fucking good time we're having.
Well said. Humans have the ability to come together and in doing so we immediately cultivate enormous power and good will. But, for many, that power is seen as very threatening. So, our drawing together is discouraged by keeping us on edge, economically stressed, disenfranchised, politically divided.
Harmony peace; music. Humanity must share, live, always remembering what connects us, not what divides.
Love it!
BRAVO! BLESSED!
Ialready played with him. Cool dude!
super Dankeschön,herr davide martello

This is AMAZING JP!!! ♥chelsea
amazing
This guy is from Konstanz in Germany and plays here on the streets every summer :D I couldn't believe it when I saw it in the newspaper. Stay strong!
Maybe I'm wrong, but I think it's probably improvised. Or at least only a "raw version" of chords he interprets a little differently every time he plays it.
It's really cool!
It's amazing. I'm turksih and I know lots of things about this situation. I'm so sorry I believe that nobody never forget what happened. Thank you Davide ! İstanbul never forget you :)
Respect from Poland. Hero.

Music can do what politicians can't: Uniting people!
Sure? It sounds clearly as a one piece music for me, then as an improvisation. When it's really an improvised beautiful piece of music, he should call it the Taksim Square Peace Hymn!
do you got any info if he got his piano back?
ładnie gra, naprwwdę

Thanks to everyone who fought back the police so that, for an evening, music could be beautiful again somewhere. Maybe our whole lives could be one day. Freedom.
Grosse Rezpekt habe ich für Martello....
Governments can restrain all, except ART...Taksim is ours , Turkey is ours , Gezi Parkı is ours and all will be.. Sİncerely..

This guy is awesome! Even though I wasn't able to hear him play, I was able to meet them on their www.stop-killing.com tour in Jacksonville, FL on their way to Dallas to play for 50th Anniversairy of JFK's Assassination. Davide and his friend Abigale started their 16 hours drive to be able to play there on time. Amazing people!
is he Turkish??
Mohammed Alaya - No, he comes from Germany.
