Castle Peak Hike 2023

The Castle Peak trail can be accessed from the north side of I-80 or from the trailhead on the south side of I-80 just a little ways east of Boreal along the frontage road. The south trailhead makes the hike a bit longer, but the parking is better and there are restrooms and water. This hike starts from the north side. We got there early enough so parking wasn't a problem.
This is a steep and challenging hike with a bit of a rock scramble at the end. If you are afraid of heights, the summit may not be your best option!

Me too! We might go back up to those snow slopes this weekend to practice arresting with an ice axe!
