The single Killed By Death was originally released on Bronze Records on 1st September 1984, produced by Vic Maile and Guy Bidmead. The line up on this album was Lemmy, Phil Campbell, Wurzel and Pete Gill.

Apart from the fact that Lemmy is having a lot of fun playing the whole bad ass outlaw thing to the max , this video seeks to remind you just how magnificent the track is. It’s one of the best things they ever did, and that’s a long list.
Agreed. It's not from the "classic" era but this song, and the 1916 album stand up with anything Motorhead ever released IMO.
I read an interview many years ago with Wurzel in RAW magazine and he said he wanted this song played at his funeral. Hope he got his wish.

This was the first motorhead song I ever listened to. When I was about 8 I found some of my uncles old VHS recordings of a British TV show called "power hour" basically top of the pops for metal heads! Still probably my favourite motorhead song now!!! One of the best bands ever!

Killed by Death (named after this song) began as a series of unauthorized LP compilations of obscure ‘77-‘82 punk 45s. This was a call and response of sorts to the Pebbles series in the 80s, which compiled obscure 60s garage band 45s, itself being a response to the Nuggets compilations, a major label effort by Lenny Kaye (an archivist best known as guitarist of Patti Smith Band), to compile better known garage 45s in fully authorized way.
Eventually, the abbreviation KBD came to also mean a certain “style” of punk (a “je ne sais quoi” would be more accurate), an inexplicable non-formulaic amalgamation of inept, crude, anti-social, homemade, humorous / offensive and aggro which is more of an aesthetic, than a style.
True KBD Punk Rock could only exist in a pre-internet pre-MTV world in which bands in their localities could only be inspired by what little they could glean from the outside world through dogged pursuit via what came in through their local independent record store, and an active imagination.
