This scene is something scary but makes you feel the dread cause the woman now realizes that the man she married is a monster from hearing the person who was tortured by him in detail and pain in her voice.
When she mentioned the urine her eyes got big and she knew it was him, can you imagine finding out the man you loved was a monster?. I get chills.
Or recognizing that the man who urinates on you with consent does it to others without consent… how degrading

I love how Olivia Benson was a victim and is now helping other victims get justice. Very empowering.
Well it started with her mom. Then when she went undercover in prison once she was sexually assaulted but not raped.
She wasn’t raped but she is a child born from rape

I voluntarily admit to my ignorance, but what is the difference between sexual assault and rape? Is the difference an almost technical one of penetration or degree of severity, in the same way that the difference between slander and libel is whether the offending content was written or spoken? I asked because like the other poster I feel like I have a dim memory of some single-digit season episode where Olivia was legitimately attacked
@@subman23 Sexual assault could mean several acts of it. Like kissing, grabbing, petting without consent. Rape is sex wihout consent.

It took me a moment to realize that one Barba stood up and said that the guy would be doing double digits and the first number was two, made me realize that that guy was going to prison for a very long time.

He deserved it…not only did he physically and sexually attack those women, he then urinated on them to degrade them even further and once the wife heard what he’d done (maybe he’s done some of the same things to her but maybe she consented to it while her husband’s victims did not) she knew that she didn’t want him around her or their daughter anymore so that’s why they dropped their motion to try and get him back to Cuba or wherever he was at

Duda it’s broken barriers and boundaries since the first episode aired in 1990. One of the first episodes deals with abortion rights. Fantastic show, fantastic casting, fantastic writing.

Olivia Benson, victim herself, is tremendously talented in her role of helping other victims....truly one of the best shows ever...from season 1 til now, I'm totally addicted......
The aspect of this scene that gets me, and I can't tell if it's the make-up/prosthetics, if it's just the actress' acting talent, or a combination of both, as she recounts what her ex-husband did to her, the side of her face that was cut looks uncomfortable and swollen, she's learned to just ignore it and push past it, but subconsciously it still bothers her. That is something very real for someone with an injury like the one she sustained. Then towards then end, she cups her scarred cheek, almost as if she's finally able to comfort her own physical discomfort for the first time in a long time, just as she is finally going to be able to find comfort emotionally and mentally for the first time.
