ive done a few of the 500 oil changes both turbo and n/a and have found that using a really long extension and use the small hole between the headlight and core support. its large enough to fit a 3/8 drive extension. also, on the turbo models, I don't remove the intake tube, i just use the long extension, loosen the filter and replace it from underneath while I remove the drain plug.

I think you were being polite when you said the oil change is a messy job. You should see my garage floor. Great video, thankyou.

I might be crazy, but I believe the oil pan plug gets removed FIRST, then the filter; that way the filter doesn't make such a mess because it will be drained...🤷

I did this on the weekend on a 2011 Esseesse which was a bloody nightmare! Italian designers produce lovely cars but their engineers probably had too much vino when they designed where to put the oil filter. First and last time for me.

I believe you should have used Liqui-Moly Leichtlauf High Tech SAE 5W-40 OR Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W-40 Full Synthetic is what I use for my 2013 Fiat 500 Abarth - Cheers from NC-USA.

Thoughts of draining the oil using a Pela PL 6000 Oil Extractor?

That is wrong oil spec for Multiair engine, must be 5w40 C3, and Fiat approved S2 not H2, N2.

Wrong, must be 10W50 Selenia oil, at least for the higher powered engines with the bigger turbo...
