Shrewsbury fan here. Chin up Ben. You are a proper supporter both home and away through thick and thin. I always enjoy your blogs not least as you have great knowledge of the all teams Fleetwood play and always gracious in both victory and defeat. If and when Fleetwood do get relegated then you will be a loss to League One but hopefully for only one season.
Fellow Shrewsbury fan hoping on this thread. Completely agree with you Dave, I look forward to seeing these vlogs come up. Hopefully Fleetwood will be back up soon!

Credit to you and the Fleetwood fans that traveled down Ben, the fact you and the fan base have kept turning up in the stands and making noise when the players haven't on the pitch deserves praise and sympathy for where you appear to be heading. Last season was awful for us, just above the drop zone but never in it, I can't imagine how that feels when it seems inevitable.
As for the game, I'm afraid to say Fleetwood may be the worst team I've seen come to Grenoble Road this season, struggled to string more than 3 or 4 passes together. To their credit, unlike Shrewsbury and Burton, Fleetwood players weren't content to sit back, absorb pressure and hope for a draw. Moore's poorly dealt with header should've been punished by Lonergan, but that kind of luck is hard to come by for a team struggling. That scare is what we needed to switch on and Brannagan gets lucky with the deflection, if he'd chosen to pass it may've had the same result as there's space for Dale and Goodrham on the right and Murphy on the left, with Harris on the penalty spot having gained a yard or two on his defender while keeping himself onside.
The second is Des' system working as intended, Murphy being in magical form since he came back from injury, and Harris being in the areas we've wanted him to be in, and he's admitted he should've been in, all season. Proper poachers finish and glad he's passed the 10 goals mark as it looked for a while like he'd struggle to get that. The third is again good wide play between Bennett and Murphy, though as you said the lack of care maybe is the right way to put it to from Fleetwood players to track back after they've been beaten was ridiculous. Bennett's decent effort well saved by Lynch but no Fleetwood player switched on to the danger and Dale slots home. Happy Dale's got his first goal, he's be quality since arriving and quickly become a fans favourite. Not once since arriving has he allowed his standards to slip and almost never stops chasing the ball.
For the rest of the first half we have chances, if not for Lynch it could've been more than 4 by full time, he made some good saves. In my opinion, he's the only player in red that can walk away from the result with a bit of pride. Second half, Fleetwood started better and created some opportunities but not of much quality. For a 15 minute spell, we seemed happy to allow Fleetwood possession, which really shouldn't become a trend cos most other sides will punish us for that.
When Marcus Browne came on with half an hour left, we kept trying the long ball forward to him or Josh Murphy which we did against Shrewsbury on Friday, most of the time this didn't work and just lead to giving up possession. The fresh legs of Henry, Bodin and Leigh seemed to reignite our attacking intent, Henry had a decent chance from a long ball forward before Harris' deflected goal. That goal was another example of Fleetwood players giving up as we had Bodin, Leigh and Henry in the area unmarked. We could've got a 5th but last second blocks and over hit crosses denied that.
If, as it looks increasingly likely, Fleetwood are playing League 2 football next season and as you said towards the end Ben that players leave, that might be the best thing for your club. Get those off the books that don't care about the club and it's position in the pyramid. That being said, it's easy to for me to say that hypothetically and it could end up negatively impacting Fleetwood going forward, we'll wait and see. All the best to Fleetwood.
