So what kind of dash cams do you use?
Mike Shoesmith was this Ontario? You cN get a ticket for running a yellow light
That cop is super high strung. This just goes to show the level of unnecessary *BULLSHIT* that too many police officers get away with. The officer *ADMITTED* that he was taking his personal frustrations out on a stranger.
Mike Shoesmith WOW!! WHOAH!! MIND BLOWN WIDE OPEN!! That’s like if my mother ever said she was wrong about anything!! I didn’t know it was even possible within the natural laws of the universe for a cop to admit their bad. Seriously, I suddenly feel like maybe my dreams aren’t so crazy, maybe anything really is possible! Thanks for sharing that miracle you captured, really...it’s like a little ray of hope in a dark, unfair and unforgiving world.
+edward starling I agree, fuck the cop. Show some big love to the garmin dash cams of the world
It take a big man to say, I'm sorry. It takes a dash cam for a cop to say I'm sorry
Exactly!
Irregardless of the camera he did say he was sorry and realized that he was being a prick. Some cops probably wouldn't have apologized and denied all the way to court. Also to be fair this guy did run a red light so he deserved the ticket. The light had turned yellow before he even entered the intersection.
@@dansanfrisco Nope. Watch again. It's yellow when he enters the intersection. No violation. He apologized only because he was told he was recorded. Not because he had a change of heart.
@@dansanfrisco These trucks are not cars! They do not stop on a dime , the momentom is much greater with the weight of the truck. Even when the light turns yellow when your close to the intersection your not going to stop this truck that fast. without ending in the intersection. just have to be aware of trafic as you come to intersections. Some lights turn pretty fast..
Either way that cop apologized..better than some denying irrationally
It wasn't the cop who changed his mind, it was the dash cam that changed the cops mind.
the truck driver sounds like a absolute sweet heart
“drivers licenses is in your wallet sir.” what a rude thing to be a jerk about.
I don't keep my lic in my wallet. I leave it in my car with my insurance and registration. Love the look on the coproaches face when he thinks he can ID me by taking my wallet. Silly coproaches.
he was only remorseful after he knew he was caught on tape.
exactly
+David Smith I don't know Canadian law, and won't pretend to. But I imagine if you don't get a ticket or fine, taking the incident to court wouldn't really work.
I don't get what you claim as a right violation or personal damages. If all the driver lost was some of his time.
+Jeff P I'm thinking it's more the fact that the cop knows it's a borderline call on the yellow light. You can't just slam on the brakes deadheaded like this because there is not much traction in the rear without a loaded trailer on there. It was yellow, not red when entering. Even if it was red leaving the intersection and that alone is a pass in the states at least. But yeah after he reviewed his tone and actions with the above in mind on video no less, he did the flip flop like a smart man should do. Had the driver been a total jerkwadd with insults and smarting off, the cop might have been ticked off enough to go ahead and push it as far as he could anyway. The advice to stay calm and respectful is pure golden if you ask me.
I remember reading about an almost exact similar case without video, and in court the truck driver called himself as an expert witness on the unpredictable dangers of sudden braking without a loaded trailer in tow. The judge wanted to know how he qualified himself as an 'expert' in the subject and he pointed to his CDL - THE mark of a state certified professional driver. No one else in the court had one, the case was dismissed.
Absolutely.
Keep calm and record everything.
A cop who admits fault... Dude play the lottery ASAP.
IKTR! Lol!
Watching this 5 years later and its still awesome
When the video started with "goodbye house" I thought the truck was about to plow into it.
Me too !
I've never heard a cop apologize before
Gary Cameron I was really shocked!
Just goes to show you that cops regular people and have bad days, too bad it took a dash camera to keep the cop honest in a sense...
He HAD to-if that video had been played in Court he'd have lost his badge and gun on the spot, and he KNEW it.
So true, they do it every single day...
bobsfolkart every single day huh? Your an expert in police shooting people in the back??? Nice profession
COULDN'T AGREE WITH YOUR COMMENT MORE. I'M YOUR FAN FOR WHAT AND THE WAY YOU STATED YOUR OPINION. FACT IS I READ A STUDY THAT SAYS 92% OF N.Y. COPS WHERE PICKED ON IN SCHOOL 6% TOOK THE JOB JUST FOR THE LIMITED YEARS AND BENEFITS &2% WHO WANNA CHANGE THE WORLD. IF THIS SURVEY IS CORRECT MUST GO AS FAR BACK AS GRADE SCHOOL TO SEE IF THE WANNA BE COP WAS A PUSSY AND NOT FIT FOR THE JOB IF HE WAS
He probably wouldn't have been so apologetic at the end if you didn't mention your dash camera. He thought about it for a second and thought, oh crap, I could get fired for taking my anger out on this guy, I better apologize and hope he doesn't report me!
Yep exactly!! Well he wouldn't of gotten fired but a warning or slap on the wrist..
I hope you filed a complaint against this guy. It would have gone a lot different if you didn't have your dashcam.
"Where are you coming from?"
"back that way".
"Where are you going to?"
"In that direction"
"Why aren't you being specific?"
"Does it have any bearing on the stop?"
"It does if I say so"
"OK. I'm now on the clock and you'll be paying my boss for my wasted time."
***** _ Cop says - Oh shit, I might lose my job over this, let me apologize and let this guy go.
NICE!
What a dirty cop and very disrespectful to this truck driver.
you missed the WHOLE point.
@DCIfanatic18 .. the end don't matter .he know she was in video that's why he apologize 😂you fucking idiot
He only apologized cause of the dash cam
As a retired cop I can tell you this officer had a bad day just by his reaction it's like the driver was involved in a hit and run situation.
@Stomp TheElite bah ,he knew okay ,but i feel what he says about having a bad day was sincere......... im glad he is capable of admitting that at least(he admits he behave incorrectly)
His wife served him with divorce papers that morning for breakfast!
From the start he was a asshole, he will die as an asshole.
@@moodyfan4ever lol,so true
Bad day my ass,he’s having a bad life and trying to exact his revenge on the world, like some cops do.
Mad respect for the trucker who remained calm and calling out the officer for his rude behavior. Also, mad respect for the officer who was man enough to admit his behavior was wrong and apologized for it. If more people were like these two fellas, this world would be a much better place!
he gained no respect from me since he waited till after he found you had a dashcam
So if he didn't have the dash cam he wouldn't have apologized?
Tim thinks hes honest...lol. He got caught in a lie....big difference.
He wouldn't have apologised and Mike would have been cited.
I'd still report him.
F No
Big ups for both men.
"Goodbye house" had me prepared to watch the semi accidently fly forward in drive, into the house, instead of in reverse. Immediately disappointed. 😆
One more crack like that & I'll call the ANGER MANAGEMENT POLICE on you😊
Pffft, same here😂
@@HectorGonzalez-mw2tf yep. Was waiting for something to destroy the house.
Rose me too
Without the camera, that guy would have stayed a jerk.
looks like everybody should invest in dashcams.
its elegal in some states
jerryjunoirmint illegal???
he didnt say illegal, he means elegal
bunker931 he can say n mean what he wants but it shows a lack of education obviously.
Absolutely, everyone should have a dash cam and, no, they aren't illegal ffs.
“Sir...laughing is against city ordinance 5150!”
Nice Van Halen reference!
Joseph Usher - Thanks, Joe!
Well handled my friend..I’ve had a time or two myself. I’ve been out here 30 years as well.. thank God for dash cams!
At least the cop apologized! I know a lot of cops that would said "just get the fuck out"
He apologized after finding out that he was being recorded lol.
nothing honest about that cop.......... wouldnt have changed his mind if you didnt have a camera
COP. DREDD. I. AM THE LAW. EVEN IF I. FK UP. IT'S STILL YOUR FAULT..
The truck driver was wrong. Yellow slow down. He accelerated. It was clearly red when he went through the light.
@@drewnyc5816 was green when he was beyond point of no return, trucks cant stop on a dime, he cleared intersection rather then stop in middle of it. You gotta remember what hes driving, trailer or not.
Who hasn't coasted thru a changing light in their life time.? Had he tried to stop he would have past the light anyway. The driver had Rt. Of way till the light turned Red. So the Driver avoided an accedent. GOOD FOR HIM..
@@chuckkelly1225 He didn't avoid an accident he ran a light. Take the summons. We all get caught once in a while.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW that apology dropped my jaw. But you KNOW damn well he wouldn't have even thought about apologizing if you didn't tell him about the dashcam. Thank god for the "honest" cops my ass.
Assume all cops are filthy, lowdown liars and tyrants. Never answer questions. They hate us all.
Driver is the Dude from Big Lebowski Cop is Michael Scott from The Office.
Jeez now I can’t unhear it
Vehicles should come with dash cams as standard equipment.
Yup, couldn’t add more than a few dozen dollars of cost to the car if you think of the scale that they would be manufactured
Most truckers do have these. For multiple reasons. One is people like to instigate a crash to get a good check in the mail. Like brake checking in front of semi intentionally.
Pretty much required in Russia, I believe.
Most of the truckers problems is the 4 wheelers cutting us off I have a dash camera...warning to women that drive min Van's stop cutting me off your not truck proof
I'm sure it's coming, like cameras for backing up.
Funny how that dashcam footage changed his attitude real quick.
Officer Steve Carell sounds like he got to the donut shop last, this morning.
he's clearly menopausal & gravely in need of hormones to balance his mood swings. Male change of life can be devastating. Poor ridiculous fool . Next best remedy, smack down & bitch slap until daylight dawns in his angry small mind. A medal for the driver whose control is unbelievable. I would have been shot dead for attacking that tapeworm.
Pretzel*
As a public official, regardless of a bad day or not. He's required to treat each incident, as a separate occurrence in a professional manner. The fact that he says repeatedly he knows the laws better than you, then apologies for his verbal abuse. When he's realizes that he's on dash cam, show's he clearly doesn't. Just abuses his power as a law enforcement officer. Glad it worked out for you driver.
That cop sounds like Michael from The Office. If he has to vent his frustration on innocent citizens maybe he should be at a desk or a different occupation.
True!!!!
He does!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :):):)
Bruh I was trying to put my finger on who he sounded like lmao
Cop: How has your driving record been?
I'm sure that police officer looked through it and didn't find a thing.
“I love the cops.” Makes me think of another saying: “With friends like that, who needs enemies!?”
"I apologize I have had a bad morning"
False. You were trying to extort money from someone and realized that you couldn't get away with it.
"Thank God for the honest cop"
An honest cop wouldnt have pulled you over and treated you like that in the first place.
extort money how? he was giving the trucker a ticket for going through the obvious red light.
@@fmulder67 I wouldn't call it obvious...it turned red as he was going through. Would not have held up in court and the cop OBVIOUSLY knew it.
You OBVIOUSLY have never driven a rig...now I know he was bobtailing but still the tractor is heavy and doesn't turn and stop like you can in your car. Most cops (especially this one since he was supposedly involved in enforcement of trucking laws) know about trucks and give them a little leeway when it comes to red lights....
Also he was turning slowly through...it would be entirely different if he was going straight through the intersection at high speeds....when you make a turn especially in a truck you need to slow down so he was caught in the point of no return....if he decided to stop he would have had to jam on his brakes and possibly end up in the middle of the intersection....
Again this is not your 2500lb car that can stop on a dime....this is a 20,000lb truck...
CONCLUSION: BUY A DASH CAM ASAP !!!!!!!!
Got a ticket for going 30 in a 30 recently. I was accused of going 50. Never have had a ticket on my record, and I've been driving for 20 years. You bet I bought a dashcam after that.
i got so much dash cams in my car people think iam a cop. even a cop thought i was a cop!
I swear, it's like they go around to anger management classes or something to recruit people for law enforcement.
Only the failures pass the entrance exam.
They should keep their bullets for the first 5 years so they don't shoot people for no reason.
Most insightful comment here. I agree
They requirements are that they're dumb. They've found hiring intelligent officers with a conscience desnt work.
Pretty sure they recruit from the High School on the day the college acceptance letters go out.
That was a lowlife cop for sure who took out his bad temper om you.
Imagine if this cop had to draw down on someone after his bad morning..
@T West that's very racist I am very offended I am a Democrat feminist gay transgender atheist.
cop only apologized after he was informed that everything had been caught on camera, so no, no brownie points for him.
He prob only apologized because you were recording him and he would have got in trouble.
90% of cops would double down and make the public pay thousands of dollars in a lawsuit.
I drove professionally for 32 years and am now retired. Damm that could have gone bad, glad it didn't. It was amazing he apologized. Most officers I met over the years were great. And yuppers there were a few who should never have been given a badge. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day 🌤.
shouldn't have told him about the dash cam. instead, get the ticket and entertain the judge with your video.
@@JohnShinn1960 thats what a jury is for. its people that arent affiliated with both individuals. a judge only passes a sentence after the jury decided the who is guilty and of what.
Driver should've had no mercy with the tape evidence. The cop was definitely gonna write him up if it wasn't for the dashcam
Judge wouldn’t have done shit about it
You think government employees punish other government employees or hold them accountable? LOL
Unprofessional cop.
At least he apologised!
Love your videos btw
Surprised to see you here! How's the healing going?
Human* cop.
You would of still argued with him for hours even after he apologized and didn't write you a ticket. Thats why i love you snowcat, relentlessly unapologetic!
snowcat hi snowcat, funny seeing you here!!!
if you wouldn't have had a dash cam...you would have gotten a ticket. ...no doubt about it
This cop needs to lose his badge. You can tell he’s not a good person at all
Wow, whatever you paid for your dashcam was well worth it!!! Great job!
Am I the only one who thought the officer was Steve Carell acting?
Cesar Cordova well....NOW I can’t NOT picture Steve Carell when listening to this
holy shit dude hahaha I closed my eyes and felt like I was watching something of the Office hahahahaha
Holy shit your right.
shit, nice catch ! lmao
Cesar Cordova goddammit you beat me to it.
"...Thanks for calling me on it...?"
Suddenly Officer Rampage realized that his butt was on display and he was subject to great embarrassment and ridicule himself...
That was amazing, but, as you indicated, he realized rather late that he was going to look pretty foolish and thuggish if he didn't back off and do something to repair the damage his earlier attitude caused.
Bear Cat 2,000,000 +later 😂
Bear Cat n.
It wasn't honesty,he got busted on the cam. He apologized so his boss doesn't put his foot up his ass.
Sure the court would see him
Being a dick, but that would not embarrass him. The ticket would be waved and he would go on his way. The officer realized that he was being a jerk after it being brought up. We do it all the time, someone says “hey I know you have been having a bad day” and we get defensive about it, then after letting it sit on you, you realize “man I have been a dick, I should apologize” well if your not an asshole.
Cam footage to a cop is like, kryptonite to superman :-))
I wouldnt have said anything and waited until court.
Gleep
He saved himself lawyer fees, hussle, and his precious time.
Not if the cop was willing to waste a whole day and the driver needed to get rolling. Better to get the cop to leave with a mouthful of crow and make a little off of the CZcams video.
It's got everything to do with the dash came and being caught. Don't think for a minute that he was an honest cop!
You are biased.
@@logicwurx we all are. Wake up
I agree. In no way shape or form was that an "honest cop." I wish it was reported and placed on this cop's record. Imagine how many lives he's decided to make "a living hell" because he was having a "bad morning" when there was no camera to defend the accused. That guy should be documented and disciplined.
@@logicwurx And you're an IDIOT.
Cop was a sassy fuck but the Trucker did run a red light.
The cop didn't want the judge to see/hear that recording, that was what caused the change of heart. He was just looking out for himself.
I still would have sent the footage to his boss, cocksuckers like this give ALL cops a bad name.
Could it be that he wasn't always a bad cop and remembered what a good cop would do in this situation?
@@billwitt6501
Yep, it's certainly possible, Bill. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Nah fuck him file complaints against him until he is homeless and then file a lawsuit for lost time because he waisted your time
Shouldn’t have warned him. He and his brothers need a wake up call every so often
He’s got a dash cam showing the light was green when he was at the intersection ! It turned yellow while making the turn ! Thanks officer!
Light was yellow THEN he made the turn. Light wasn’t yellow for one second then red.
I’d still show this to his chief. Confrontational cops should have their badge and gun revoked.
well. i dont think anyone should have their gun revoked
Cliff Charpentier the cops who have absolute power to kill someone and 9 times out of 10 get away with it should definitely get their guns revoked. Not everyone but the trigger happy just itching to have an excuse cops should definitely have their fire arms revoked. Use them to protect not to intimidate.
It's called "The Eddie Haskell Syndrome". People turn into little angels once they know the camera's running. lol
edward John Eddie Haskell, aka Ken Osmond actually became a cop. He was a cop for 18 years. 😂😂😂
@@Rick-iv1nx - was he a good cop or bad. Thank you in advance for answering and have a pleasant evening, Mr and Mrs cleaver.
Who’s Eddie Haskell?
He’s an actor turned cop who had a cop car with seats made from fine Corinthian leather.
Ahhh wipe clean......sensible.
Two thing: First of all, Mike, it takes a man to keep calm even when frustraded. Two: That Police officer was truly a big man to admit he was taking out His frustration on you and apologized for it after an personal realisation about it. You got any pictures of your Rig // Love from a 19 yearold truckdriver in sweden.
+edtchjn Hello Sweden! No pictures sorry.
+edtchjn The cop's attitude changed when he realized he was being recorded... hence the apology... he wasn't sorry for being a douche, he was sorry he was caught on camera being a douche.
+Thomas Nuckles Exactly. He would have continued being his ole prick self had he not known about the camera. I never tell cops they're being recorded. Let the footage speak for itself. That's the only way to get a true representation of an officer's mentality.
You should be happy and appreciate it. Not a lot of them would offer their apology. No matter is there is a cam or not. Great to see that you stayed calm. We need more of that on earth.
didnt know Michael from the office was a cop
Every Canadian should read the Police Services Act’s Code of Conduct, especially the part in Section 30 that says an officer engages in discreditable conduct when he or she “uses profane, abusive or insulting language or is otherwise uncivil to a member of the public.”

I didn't know Steve Carrell was a police officer part time!!!
I knew I recognised that voice! That was bugging the hell out of me! :-)
mhks68 dam you're right!!😅😅😅
That's what she said
Holy shit I thought he sounded like Steve Carrell lol
It doesn't sound close to Steve Carell. You got the Steve part right but it's Steve Buscemi!!
God Bless our truckers, no one gives y'all the respect you deserve for driving all over the place and trying to work while others have endless road rage.
OMG... you rock and thank god he saw the light!!!!He gains the little respect thats left in the black and white.
Funny how the attitude changed after he was alerted to the cam..
I've been a high school teacher for 20 years. A calm and reasonable tone will defuse most situations. In fact, remaining calm in a stressful moment is a sign of a tough and confident person and commands immediate respect.
You should ALWAYS post the cops name and badge number in the description box.
Driver chill AF.
Do you really think he would have reversed his behavior if he hadn't be made aware of the dash cam ? More than likely NOT !! The only reason he even reversed his behavior was because of it , and the consequences he'd most likely pay for "his" behavior.. Just telling it like it is !
Chris Mcphatter. Presuming most don't follow up with suing, just goes viral and that's satisfying for most I guess.
What are you talking about? It had nothing to do with the recording, the cop even said "It's upto you, you're entitled to do with it as you want". It had nothing to do with that, it was the fact that the guy legitimately picked up on the fact that the cop had a rough day. If you let people know that, you picked up on it, and it's not fair to be attacking you for it, they'll usually apologise. They go through more stress than your shitty job, so of course they'll turn out like this on a bad day. Just let them know what's up, and they'll apologise. A person going through stress would rather someone acknowledge them for it, instead of attacking them for it.
Ikr lol
I think you're probably correct. There's a chance he might have checked himself after some self-reflection once the truck driver called him out. However, I would think it's more plausible that he changed his abusive behavior in fear of having a complaint filed with some rather damning audio evidence.
I do not think this cop had had a bad morning , the driver supplied him with that excuse and once he realized he had been recorded he new he had to run with it when he saw this guys clean driving record and 30 years experience . I think this guy is a little power freak and is always confrontational , it would be interesting lo look at his history as a cop .
Is the officer Steve Carol?😂🤣😂🤣 Sure sounds like him
🤣🤣🤣
Respect to that cop for coming up to the guy and apologizing. That's hardcore.
If the officer could hear the music you put over this video you would have went to jail for sure.

Music ?? What music ??
Do you mean that static in the video ?? I thought that something was wrong with my computer sound system. J
You were incredibly calm .... if I were you , I would definitely go court and get that cop fired for his arrogant attitude at the beginning....
I have a love and hate relationship with this line of thinking. On the one hand, he apologized.....but on the other he would totally take you to the cleaners if he could have. You know what, the issue is now clear, you are correct jeremy. Take that dude to court. Bad mornings don't excuse ass-hattery.
I've had DOT officers come at me this way too
This cop needs to take a anger management class.
I was friends with a trucker in Montreal named Eddie Cyr!..He would have said "It's all good bro!"....Much respect for that officer for his apology. 👍😎
I get the message of this video, but I can't help find it frustrating that civilians are expected to be so obediently compassionate and understanding when the officer felt no such obligation and seemingly came to his senses only because of the existence of a dash cam.
It's not that civilians are expected to be... it's just more helpful to be. Best case scenario, the officer is having a great day, too, and you get through the traffic stop with a pleasant exchange. Slightly less than worst case scenario, the officer's having a bad day and is tense, but dealing with a pleasant individual eases that tension. Worst case scenario, the officer's a dickhead tin badge, and it really doesn't matter what you do because the exchange is going to be brutal, but you doing nothing to instigate the officer puts you in the clear if the situation itself needs to go to court.
bonchbonch What would it have been like had there been no dashcam...
Dash cams are awesome. Exposing pos cops for what they are

Anna Lisa - this is not in the police state of America. He’s in Canada.

Dave Delve Delve so I guess that NOT manning up
What the officer meant to say was "I'm sorry I got busted on the dash cam, now I have to save face and be a good boy so I don't get in trouble".... which means paid leave. What a joke.
He knew the light was yellow and hed look like an ass in court
Without that dash cam recording every word, things would have been very different.
Mullay2 dang right !
And that's why you should always record the authorities.
Yes. They HATE that though but not a thing they can do....
Only in Canada will a truck driver say I"m sorry and the cop apologizes for being wrong. What a great country!
Your tolerance deserves a subscribe!
It's a shame that it takes knowing they're being recorded for cops to pretend that they're professional.
Abuse of authority, that is .... until he was told about the DASH CAM!! Don't need public servants like him.
