Not only was the Triple H vs Orton match disappointing, it also had the misfortune of happening right after the first Taker vs HBK WM match.
Actually it was the triple threat match of Cena, Edge and Big Show

What's worse about Roman v Jey is that the crowd was so into it until that moment.
The Jimmy turn still pisses me off. Everything that happened with the bloodline before then made sense. Jimmy joined the bloodline to protect his brother, then turned on Roman for the same reason. Jey turned on Sami, not because he wanted to, but to protect Jimmy. Then, they throw it all away for a heel turn for the purpose of a heel turn.

FACTS in my opinion all of the brock and bobby’s whole trilogy of matches against each other were let downs and that was pretty sad since by that point for years we have been wanting brock vs bobby.

That's exactly the point, fans set their expectations way too high, there match at Wrestle Kingdom was far too good meaning any match they would have in the future isn't going to reach that level.
AJ is right on expectations. There are exceptions of course, but sometimes getting too hype will ruin a match before it even begins.

Undertaker should've won that Hell in a Cell match against Kane. They could've booked these matches; Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar at WM20 a No Holds Barred match, Kevin Owens vs Chris Jericho a falls count anywhere match, AJ Styles vs Shinsuke in a 30 Iron Man match, Triple H vs Randy Orton in a Hell in a Cell match.
Nothing would have saved Lesnar vs Goldberg.

Wrestlemania 25's main event will go down as the most disappointing match in the show's history. It should've been a no holds barred blood bath but they killed the excitement by having the stipulation that said if HHH got disqualified, he'd be stripped of the title. It should've been a hell in a cell. A lot of people think the crowd was dead because of Shawn vs Undertaker earlier in the night. The world heavyweight title match was next and the crowd was hot for that match too. Orton vs HHH just sucked because it was a regular match. Orton should've went over too.
But the crowd going wild for one match definitely actually makes the crowd lose all their energy

I could think of a few more that was far more disappointing.
It wasn't just that it was a normal match. I agree that didn't help, but it also was just boring.
I never once believed that randy would win at any point in the fight. It was completely one sided. Triple H just beat him into the ground like a tent peg the entire time.
You need to have a little bit of back and forth to make the match worth watching.
Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose in late 2018 should've been a No DQ match, at least.
It was at tlc after all! Perhaps a ladder match? Tables match? Hell even a chairs match, give us something lol

Shawn Michaels vs Hulk Hogan in 2005 was a match that had a lot of hype leading up to it. However, the match between the two was a huge disappointment.

Starrcade 97 Sting vs Hogan was the biggest WCW flop of all time. What should have been tje greatest match ever with over a year build got ruined by a botch pin count 😢
They couldn't come up with a different way to book tribal combat so they just ignored their own stipulation. Here's how you book it, Roman wins clean. They can call Jey Uso "Main event Jey" all they want but hes a midcard act at best and roman shouldnt need help to beat him.

AJ VS Edge IMO Was Fine. Considering Both Were In There 40s, They Put On A Fantastic Match. IDK Why Peoples Had Some 5Stars Instant Classic Expectations & When They Didn't Got That They Complained. 🤷🏽♂️

I hate Roman vs Jey 2023 because I remember that night two of my friends came over. They aren’t wrestling fans, they didn’t really care, but I told them that my grandpa and I would be watching it. They both sat on the couch on their phones only speaking up to make jokes to themselves about the match as I was stuck there watching a long, boring match that I already knew the outcome to BEFORE feeling betrayed as Solo interfered again. This match made me feel absolutely uninterested in Solo especially, I hate seeing him on my screen because I always associate him with boring, not at all creative match finishes. This is the guy that potentially retired John Cena and I don’t care, that’s how bad the Summerslam match was to me
For me was the Styles/Nakamura program. Especially considering the epic matches they had in NJPW

Surprised not to see Hogan vs Andre at Wrestlemania 3. Yes, it ended exactly how the fans of that era wanted but most of the match leading to the bodyslam was ten plodding minutes of bearhug and brawling. Also, consider the Wrestlemania 35 women's triple threat main event. History made yes, but the match was not up the same quality of several women's matches from the past year, ended with a botch and the crowd were burnt-out from an elephantine-length event.
The match definitely sucked. Hogan lifting Andre was a great moment, but the match itself was not good.

Didn’t they literally only say that Tribal Combat was “anything goes”? Solo interfering was a given.
Honestly past Wrestlemanias had a big problem of the show being super long and for one night which definitely impacted the crowd. Personally I still like the Jey Uso vs Roman Reigns match last year and Goldberg winning the Universal Title in 2017 definitely was a selfish move and a letdown.

I don't recall that match having as big of a build that this list claims that it did. The Undertaker was in very bad shape during 2010. His legs and his shoulder were in need of surgery at the time, and Mysterio's botch that broke his orbital bone notably hurt his performance even more. Given how rushed the 2010 feud with Kane felt, the damage he was carrying on him really showed
Rock/Cena at Mania 29. NOBODY wanted to see "Twice in a Lifetime"...

many dream aj styles matches were a letdown. it could be due to a different wwe style than what he has been used to or a conservative approach from styles due to age or just that he is a hit and miss sometimes. his match with nakamura was the same as well.
