Jack Swagger is a honorable mention twice with winning MITB at Wrestlemania 26 to being Michael Cole's lackey at Wrestlemania 27 and the Team Johnny vs Team Teddy at Wrestlemania 28 and the other is facing Alberto Del Rio for the World title at Wrestlemania 29 to being on the preshow at Wrestlemania 30
FACTS jake went from being a main eventer to mid card to mid card again to main eventer to mid card from wrestlemaina 26-30 in five years.
Where is Eddie? He defeat Kurt Angle at WM20 but WM21 He lost to Rey My sterio in the opening match.
@@user-fp1vy6vy9w That wasn't terrible. If Eddie lost to Muhammed Hussan then it be a real downgrade.
I get the attention of them pushing Jack Swagger as a main eventer but the problem was that he wasn't ready for the main event ranks.
Asuka gets an honorable mention from me. She went from competing against Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women's Championship at WrestleMania 34 to competing in the WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal on the preshow of WrestleMania 35. When Asuka did hold the championship, she dropped it to Charlotte on Smackdown so they can put her in a winner take all triple threat match with Becky Lynch and RAW Women's Champion Ronda Rousey in the main event at WrestleMania 35. And for what? Yes, Becky won both titles but at the next PPV, Money in the Bank, she would lose the Smackdown Women's Championship back to Charlotte, who minutes later lost the belt to Bayley due to Bayley's briefcase cash-in.
FACTS dude it’s still a crime asuka has not won a match at wrestlemania ONCE.
Asuka needs to go to AEW
Let's not forget Asuka. She got her undefeated streak broken at 34, she and Kairi lost their Tag Team Championship at 36, she lost her Raw women's championship to Rhea Ripley at 37, and finally at 39 she lost to Bianca for the Raw women's Championship. .She tweeted this like 0-5. It's just so sad that WrestleMania always humiliates her.
Honestly it boils down to revenue. She guarantees stock throughout the year, but once wwe decide on something new, they drop the ball. Look at bray, shinsuke, sheamus, drew. Tbh even it’s not revenue, it’s probably fan favourite to stay at the top to turn suddenly fall, like liv, Sasha recently
Sasha Banks is an honorable mention, She was in the main event of WrestleMania 37 against Bianca Belair and then downgraded to a tag team match in favor of Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 38
Straight Facts . Sasha got badly mistreated & treated like a second fiddle
I agree. That was such a complete slap in the face to Sasha, considering how immensely talented she is. she was even going to win the 2022 rumble match only for that to be stripped away from her for Rhonda Rousey, which proven to be pointless. I don’t blame her for leaving.
she deserved it
if sasha didn't get hurt at the beginning of 2022 she could have won the royal rumble & possibly got her very first mania win as smackdown women's champion at wm 38
But to be fair Sasha got what she deserved
RIP Bray Wyatt
Its still pisses me off that Kofi Kingston was an after thought clearly he had one of best WM of all time when he won the WWE World Title that match is still EPIC ASF
FACTS
Because he's not entertaining.... yaaa maaan
@@miamiinfinity5625👀
I'm not even mad Brock beat him for the title. I'm mad because the match lasted like 10 seconds
@@brolysupersaiyan1634 how many minutes did u want it to be
Hey Wrestlelamia, Just to let you know, Your videos really make me feel happy and I was wondering if we could get a video about "Top 10 Longest Careers Ever" I feel it would be entertaining to see the longest WWE career runs in the company's almost century long run
Taker has to be there for sure
@@awesomebeast7509yea, as an active performer he would certainly be number 1
Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Brooklyn Brawler, Triple H..
Fun idea. Does it have to be exclusive to wrestlers who stuck with WWE their entire career? Or any major wrestler as long as they were a part of WWE as well? Sting would probably be #1 on that list with the overall longest career for a major name. Otherwise, Undertaker if it's just WWE.
Big show is an honorable mention; he was in Wrestlemania 2000 main event then next year he wrestled for the hardcore championship
He just fell off period
The miz should have never won that match at wrestlemania 27 what an awful booking decision at that wrestemania.
Agreed
Kane wrestling in Sunday Night Heat of WM 19 just five months after being no. 1 contender for WHC title and holding both IC and Tag Team titles was just insane and that was not even his fault.
Similar thing happened with Dean Ambrose, from holding WWE title just six months ago to wrestle in pre-show.
Undertaker wrestling Jake the Snake Roberts at Wrestlemania 8 to wrestling Giant Gonzalez at Wrestlemania 9.
Ronda Rousey got peaked in her first WWE run while her second run was worst
Randy Savage should have been there. He defended the title against Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania 5, the next year he was in a mix tag match with Sherri against Dusty and Sapphire at Wrestlemania 6. At least Bundy's match at Wrestlemania 3 was memorable. Savage also won the WWF title at Wrestlemania 8, was on commentary at Wrestlemania 9, and then had a throw away Falls Count Anywhere match against Crush at Wrestlemania 10. Sgt. Slaughter should also be on that list. He went from defending the title against Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania 7, to competing in an 8 man tag team match at Wrestlemania 8.
At the time, it was too early for The Miz to be in the main event. Now? I could totally see him in the main event, he's always been one of my favorite wrestlers to watch over the years even when I went through an anti-WWE phase.
Cena should have won that match the miz had no business winning that match at mania. Over John cena of all people who was the face of wwe.
Too early? He debuted in 2006 and main evented in 2011. Brock Lesnar debuted after Wrestlemania 2002 and main evented 2003. Batista debuted in 2002 and main evented in 2005. John Cena debuted in 2002 and main evented in 2006.
@@NateNizzle The Miz isn't Brock Lesnar, and he's not John Cena. The Miz is The Miz, just because Brock Lesnar was ready early in his WWE career doesn't mean The Miz was. He may have debuted in 2006, but he didn't start breaking out into his own until around 2010, 2011. He wasn't ready for the main event yet, which makes it too early. I don't care if you're 40, if someone isn't ready for the main event yet, putting them in that position is too early. Of course to be fair to The Miz, 2010, 2011, was in my opinion, when WWE started going downhill. So that was also a player in the success of The Miz. I could be wrong, maybe he was ready, and was just poorly booked, I was still a kid when they started pushing him and to be honest that was when I was starting to lose interest in wrestling until I watched TNA in 2013 (Aces & Eights is still one of my favorite story lines). It doesn't matter, the fact is he should be in the main event now.
@@trewilliams8411 hell no
Cena was already the top guy plus cena already won the year prior against batstia
Miz needed and deserve that win
@@Osman-kv1vw no he didn’t lol plus he had to cheat with Alex Riley in the corner MIZ had no business being in the main event that year Cena should have easily won and plus of course MIZ had to cheat.
You make the best content and you are the main reason why I have CZcams 😂 I can’t go a day without my daily wrestling content!
Hope there will be a future video on top 10 wrestlers who had biggest WrestleMania upgrades soon.
Oh hell yeah
@@Wrestlelamiayeah
Cody Rhodes & Sami Zayn are recent perfect example
@@Wrestlelamia Hell Yeah
@@Wrestlelamia Oh sweet! I bet we will look forward to that one when it happens. :)
And again...Ronda Rousey was never a good wrestler. So much hype surrounding her when she first came in but that was it.
Well about Bret Hart who went from wrestling 2 matches, including winning WWE championship at wrestlemana 10 to facing Bob Backlund in a I quit match at wrestlemaia 11
U can also make a case from wrestlemania 13 facing stone cold steve austin in arguably the greatest wrestlemania in history compared to wrestlemania 26 in facing mr mcmahon in one of the worst wrestlemania matches
Or Brock Lesnar went from The Main Event of Wrestlemania 19 to that joke of a match that was WM20 with Goldberg
Chris Jericho vs Fandango match at WM 29 was forgettable
No it wasn't! I remember everyone doing the Fandango dance and singing his song.
@@NateNizzleYup because of that, Fandango kinda turn babyface and become so popular with the Universe Era audience
Poor Miz doesn’t remember the match
Paul Orndorff. Main evented WrestleMania I, then was in the opening match of WrestleMania II, facing Don Muraco.
That Sheamus-Bryan 28 was awful to see live. 🤦🏿♂️
I think Wrestlmania 36 was terrible. Drew should’ve won the WWE championship in front of a huge audience and then he went on to carry it for a year in a half. Becky Lynch should’ve lost to Shayna concerning the fact that she was pregnant. Seth Rollins revealed in an interview that he didn’t want her to go out there and wrestle. I know no one can control the situation but it was still bad.
Randy Orton too he went from winning the WWE title in WM 33 to losing the US title to Jinder Mahal in a Fatal 4-Way.
4:44 Dominick Mysterio 100%
You should do a list for biggest upgrades. Bryan & Sheamus went from, a pre show match for Mania 27, to a world heavyweight title match, at Mania 28.
And also r.i.p terry funk
Miz only main evented because they needed his help to set up storyline between Cena and Rock
Lex Luger should've been WWE Champ atleast
WM14…..Undertaker vs Kane wasn’t a great match. But that was the greatest buildup to a match I’ve ever seen. It’s up there with the best storylines ever.
Then the next year we get the lackluster match with Big Boss Man. I liked Undertaker vs Shamrock at Backlash. They shouldn’t done that at Wrestlemania instead, seeing as how they totally dropped the ball on the Intercontinental title match and build.
RIP King Kong Bundy
Age Of Death: 61
Cause Of Death: Diabete Problems
❤️🕊️🕊️❤️
King Kong Bundy (2 to III); Lex Luger (X to XI); Steve Austin (XVII to XVIII) are a few that comes to mind for me
I’m surprised that you didn’t mention Randy Savage. From wrestling The Ultimate Warrior and getting Ms. Elizabeth back, to commentary table for the next mania
You missed a Mania (as did 7 others apparently 🤣)...Savage actually won the *WWF title* a year later to that; he was on commentary a year after THAT, which was a far worse comedown...
WM 27 was indeed have one of the worst main event match of all time
asuka: smackdown women's title match against charlotte flair at wrestlemania 34 to fighting in the women's battle royal on the pre show at wrestlemania 35
She needs to go All Elite
I would also say Jack swagger I mean he went to win money in the bank in 26 to be on Michael Cole corner in 27 and went from challenging for the word title in 29 to be on the pre show at 30
Drew McIntyre should've won WWE title in front of live fans in presence
I would say Bobby Lashley should be on this list because he was not even given a spot at Wrestlemania
thats coz wyatt was postive for covid so the plans were cancelled at the end
I don’t think The Miz was downgraded. I mean obviously going from main eventing to that is in its core a downgrade, however, with Miz I feel like he was never upgraded so is not downgraded. He is just that through and through reliable talent that you can always depend upon. He will take the best of the best worker and the worst worker and will always work to crowd like no one else. They will put him where they need him to get something. And he will deliver.
I will never forgive Vince McMahon for omitting Daniel Bryan vs Sheamus from the WrestleMania 27 match card just to give us 30 minutes of pure torture from the Michael Cole vs Jerry Lawler match.
Just for Vince to have a laugh at the grandest stage ☹️
While it was 3 years later Fandango went from wrestling and defeating Jericho at WM 29 (the match mentioned in Jericho's segment) to being thrown out first in the Andre The Giant Battle Royal at WM 32
They should've debuted Lesnar a few weeks earlier and then they could've built up Stone Cold vs Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania X8.
Asuka - wm34 title match vs charlotte, wm35 pre show battleroyal
Shinsuke nakamura- wwe title match, wm35 4 way tag title match
Asuka for AEW
Nakamura worst US champion ever
Imagine what fandango must've felt after chris jericho being so disgusted when he had to have a match with him.
Honorable mention is The Rock who went from coming to Wrestlemania 29 defending the wwe title to facing Erick Rowan at Wrestlemania 32
😂😂 it is an official match but it wasn’t advertised so I’m not sure it should be treated as a downgrade.
Yep
@@Wrestlelamia More like a random impromptu match also. lol
ummm nice try but thats more like a cameo bro.... 😅
@@Wrestlelamia Cena should have won that match the miz had no business winning that match at mania. Over John cena of all people who was the guy a better ending would have saved that years mania it should have been cena and rock stair down to close out that years mania with cena holding the title it would have looked a lot better.
I really enjoyed the Jericho vs Fandango feud, was hoping that would be a stepping stone for Fandango but they really did nothing with him and his entrance theme became more over than he did, shame
Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Stay safe!
Honorable mention is brock lesnar who main evented wrestlemania 38 then was put in a random match against omos at wrestlemania 39
Or what about him main eventing Wrestlemania 19 his first Wrestlemania and then facing Goldberg in that hideous match one year later
all these what could of been moments sadly Halls demons caught up to him again but man his match with Austin i really think could of been somethin the back an fourth promos would of been amazing
I say macho man randy savage had a big downgrade from wrestlemania 8 to 9 with a great match vs flair compared to being on an announcer table and savage could really have really helped that show out
cena should have beaten the miz at wrestlemania 27 miz winning made no sense the story was the rock and john cena. It would have worked if cena won and the rock and cena would stair face to face to close out the show it would have looked a whole lot better.
What about Ten Stars that were on the WrestleMania card one year but weren’t the next even though they still worked for WWF/WWE & weren’t injured at the time?
*_i’m rooting for you:😍💓_*
Here's a couple honorable mentions who were in basically the exact same situation: Bayley and Naomi. Both of them went from leaving WM 33 with their brand's respective Women's titles to competing in the Women's Battle Royal on the WM 34 pre-show. No, I don't care that Naomi won that battle royal and Bayley was the last woman eliminated, the point still stands.
2018 was a bad year for Bayley and thank god they turned her heel and finally got her NXT rematch with Sasha
Is there a video of WrestleMania upgrades??
Stone Colds mistreatment in 2001-2002 was ridiculous. Sure we got some funny moments but it was character assasination. WM 18 should have been Austin vs Triple H in the main event. Huge Jericho fan but that storyline was not good
Triple H WM 25 Main event to WM 26 against Sheamus
Bret Hart as well, Main event at Wrestlemania 10, Paraded as the top guy after the match with Yokozuna, following year at Wrestlemania 11 he faces against Bob Backlund in a Boring Submission match
To be fair, WrestleMania 11 wasn't the best in any shape or form , ffs it's main event was Lawrence Taylor Vs. Bam Bam Bigelow , that says it all
Early gang
Kane should get an honorable mention here, he was in a high profile match with kurt angle at 18 then at 19 was in a tag match on heat
Where is Eddie? He defeat Kurt Angle at WM20 but WM21 He lost to Rey My sterio in the opening match.
Both are classics and are not terrible
@@unholyperiodza5442 I know never said terrible.
@@user-fp1vy6vy9w Downgrades are supposed to be bad like Kurt Angle from WM 34 to 35
Dolph ziggler was the world heavyweight champion meaning the champion of the WORLD!
Cody Rhodes might join this list if Dwayne Johnson has any say in it…
I feel like a mention should be made for Nathan Jones, who was booked in a tag match with the Undertaker against the Big Show and A-Train at WM 19, but then was downgraded to being taken out of the match entirely (minus a quick interference) on the night of WM 19. He was downgraded within a single Wrestlemania, and none of the younger fans here will have any idea who he even was, and anyone older just now remembered his existence reading this.
Ravishing Rick Rude:
WM V - wins Intercontinental Championship from Ultimate Warrior.
WM VI - Beats Jimmy Snuka in a filler.
That cena’s punch got me on to whole new level of shock
Miz deserved better
7:31 i'ma stop you right there
👍 original host guy
Well Miz main event at WM 27 was one of the worst WM main event ever
cena should have beaten the miz at wrestlemania 27 miz winning made no sense the story was the rock and john cena. It would have worked if cena won and the rock and cena would stair face to face to close out the show it would have looked a whole lot better.
And plus the miz had to cheat like crazy
Another one that comes to mind is Shinsuke
Biggest Upgrade was Becky Lynch
WrestleMania 34 - Pre Show Women’s Battle Royal
WrestleMania 35 - Won the main event.
True 😊
Honorable mention for Jack Swagger and Alberto del Rio from Wrestlemania 29 to 30?
This wss dope
Wrestlemania x8 isn’t considered as such but due to wcw contract issues it’s the most what if Wrestlemania of all time. Austin should’ve been facing Goldberg. That’s the only opponent that made sense. Austin v HHH wasn’t it, could’ve happened at x7 but not x8. Cutting Austin’s heel run short and ending the invasion storyline….i understand why it all happened. But man…what if
I'm surprised Roddy Piper wasn't on this list. Main event at the inaugural Wrestlemania - then booked to box Mr. T in Wrestlemania 2? Even though it was the Chicago portion of the main event, I see that as a SERIOUS downgrade.
It's such a shame.
The Miz was always good on the mic and inside Ring.
Plus his Character or Gimmick was even better back then.
It was perfect for him,
but because of the stupidety of Fans and management he didn't got what he derserve,
much like Sheamus.
With Drew it seems like this was only the magements fault.
Which are so stupid (except for Hunter) and make so many terrible decision like Part Time Champions.
I actually agree with Drew on one point.
Baron Corbin is one Hell of a Wrestler and talker.
Sadly they ruined him with his failed Cash In and getting rid of his Lonewolf Gimmick.
Which was a perfect fit.
Plus these Sad and Happy Corbin Gimmicks were crap.
I mean if they would been in charge in the '90 would they call HBK Shawn Smiley?
or Happy Michaels?
or Taker?
Mark Deadly?
This was so stupid and wasted.
Nearly said Wade Barrett, but remembered his only real push (The Nexus) started in *June* and only lasted until August 2010!
By Mania XXVII, his new group The Corre were being jobbed out in a *sub-2:00 8-Man Tag*... 🤣🤣🤦♂🤦♂
Bundy was possibly the most underrated Big man in WWE history
I loved him on Married with Children.
Seth Rollins beat Brock at wm and after he face KO,Cesaro, logan and Stardust downgrade of Seth Rollins
Why was Austin upset with the Scott Hall / WM18 decision? There’s only so much room at the top - The Rock had his match against Hogan, PLUS the championship match afterwards. Beggars can’t be choosers.
So just cause they’re not in the main event at EVERY wrestlemania, it is considered a downgrade? You can’t possibly headline WM every year you know?
Angle vs Austin or HHH vs Austin would’ve been much better for WM18.
Either reignite the fried with Angle or give a proper blowoff to the HHH feud.
Jericho being the first undisputed. Champion was good for him but he didn’t need to carry it all the way to Wrestlemania. It’s not like they did him any favors in the buildup anyway.
Jericho vs fandango that match sucked absolutely sucked
Sheamus match at WM 27 in Royal Rumble match was awful
Batista in 2008 and Randy Orton in 2010 really piss me off.
i wish the commentators would say their name cuz theres 2 of them and i am so confused when i hear the other guy
What would be your finisher
Too bad Stone Cold didn’t face Hogan at WrestleMania 18. In my opinion, that would have been better than Hogan vs. Rock.
I think a stone cold vs macho man match could have been made imagine that card
Straight Facts but Hogan was the main responsible for refusing to put Austin over
No Jim Ross said on his podcast Austin didn't want to work with Hogan because of resentment from his time in WCW. It was Austin who didn't want the match. It's cool to pile on Hogan but c'mon man it was Austin. Ho listen to JR's podcast.
i’m suuuuper early
Bray was the closest to a legit character that we seen from the attitude/RA era. E.g, foley, taker, Kane, Austin, gangrel, jake roberts etc not many are now. Now it’s just dull and not much creativity
Yo how do you just skip over the fact that Bundy bodyslammed Little Beaver at Wrestlemania 3? That was a great Wrestlemania moment.😂
Brock Lesnar from main event biggest mania at 38 to opening with Omos. Downgrade or maybe just needed somewhere else.
Where’s Kofi Kingston he went from winning WWE Champion at Wrestlemania 35 to competing in miserable tag matches from 36 to 38!!
Booker T won the tag team title with Goldust. Their interactions were played well. Then, WWE teams Booker T up with RVD?
Poor Miz because he’s definitely an uper mid carder to a half decent main eventer from his promo ability
Man i want to see what are the WrestleMania plans for
LA Knight. He deserves his WrestleMania moment.
Yeahh
This year, intercontinental... Next year definitely wwe title storylines
danial Bryan was in the headline match at Wrestle-mania 30, then a ladder match for the intercontinental title match at 31....Asuka was in the Smackdown Women's title match at 34 then the pre show at 35. John Cena facing the Rock at 29, then Bray Wyatt at 30, Rusev at 31, and mixed tag at 33.
😂 none of those are downgrade
Miz is a work horse, though. He will do whatever is asked of him.
