- Arrogate was the richest North American racehorse in history, having taken the racing world on an epic journey in 2016-2017. After place third in his debut he went on to break his maiden 4 1/2 lengths and after winning two more races over Allowance company he went on to win the 2016 Travers Stakes by 13 1/2 lengths and in the fastest Travers ever and breaking a track record that had stood for 37 years. After that Victory he went on to take us all on a wild ride where he blew past California Chrome in the 2016 Breeders Cup and won the inaugural $12 Million Pegasus World cup with ease. He then went to Dubai where he broke a step slow and got squeezed hard by two other horses forcing him into last place within the opening strides. Mike Smith and Arrogate proceeded to do the impossible and come from last to first, eating up ground and passing horses like they were standing still to beat Gun Runner and become the richest North American racehorse with $17 million in earnings. After that race he wouldn't win again and was not the same horse when he returned to Dubai. He retired after the 2017 Breeders Cup Classic and went on to stand stud at Juddmonte Farm in Lexington Kentucky. In the last week of May 2020 Arrogate's stud schedule was suspended when he appeared to be suffering from soreness in his neck. He then fell in his stall, was unable to get back to his feet, and was sent for treatment at the Hagyard Clinic. After four days of tests and unsuccessful treatment, he was euthanized on June 2. A statement issued by Juddmonte said "His will to fight, so valuable to him on the racetrack, became a challenge in his care. When serious secondary health issues set in, the decision was made to put him to sleep." He was only 7 years old.
Arrogate took us on an amazing 4 race sweep, taking the most prestigious races in the US and the world and showed amazing heart, stamina, and speed. Watching him run gave you this feeling of watching greatness. His presence on the track was fleeting as was his presence in life, but will will always remember the striking grey that showed us the impossible is possible.
Monster of a horse.

Shocking !! how good he was.
Amazing stride ( hope some of his offspring inherit some of his exceptional talent😢🙏🏼
RIP Legend lives on forever 💞💞💞💞🏇🏇🏇😢👌
You were great Arrogate we wont forget you
He was a great one. He had a physical issue that went undetected, caused his fast decline, and eventually took his life. I'll always believe that. Arrogate was just too gifted for it to be anything else.
Arrogate !!! . A True American Racehorse Champion !!! An "American" Dream !!! ... Enables Greatest Fan ( 2016 ) ...
RIP ARROGATE 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹💔💔💔💔
I'm not the religious type but I sure hope there is somewhere these horses get to go in the afterlife. If there is, then arrogate is there going at it with Secretariat, cigar, slew, allydar, affirmed, ......
Rest in peace arrogate
we have the same birthday.
Great aroggate
He ran 4 races in a row that were insane 2nd to only Big Red.
2nd to big red in what way? He only set I track record. No world records and lost his last 3. Sort of confused on why some people think he was that great.
Mike I hear u ,u sometime u get a horse that run 4 races in a row an they r all incredible, how he ran down Chrome ,the way he won in Dubia but yea I agree Mike we went alittle over board.Nobody in Reds class my bad.
Way faster than Big red! His Ragozin numbers tell the story!
@@mikewarren1401 Big Red never beat older horses on the dirt, he lost the Wood a prep race before the derby!
Lol I love Arrogate 4 great races ,u only get to run in the Big Three races once let alone that he won them all ,he has all the track records in all 3 , 5 track records in all ,just press on any website best horse ever see who comes up!!!Big Arrogate fan
Arrogate🇸🇦💔💙😭
We went down to history unexpected win .I said this horse is gonna win. It was amazing how everything unfolded.
Very Nice. Where do you find Inspiration? See ya bud xo
When I read the news of his passing I just needed a way to process it and I wanted to do something that honored his memory. I did a video for American Pharoah a couple years ago and really enjoyed the video editing process and decided to do it for Arrogate.
