I wonder what Sephiroth is thinking. "WTF. Why can't I hit this kid!?"
It's really interesting that Sephiroth's first appearance for the KH series was only in the international version of KH1 as he wasn't in the OG Japanese release.
Then in the first Final Mix on PS2 in Japan only, he was retained with the other bonuses, yet that version of the game had all English voices with Japanese text, so Lance Bass still has his voice for him.
However, this version of Final Mix via 1.5 HD is basically the first instance of Toshiyuki Morikawa, the one recurring Japanese voice for Sephiroth, ever voicing him for this very fight as again, OG Final Mix had English voices only.
This makes me legit curious if either:
*Toshiyuki Morikawa pre-recorded his lines for him for this fight since the OG international or FM versions on PS2, but were unused up until this point.
*Mr. Morikawa upon the development of this particular version, recorded fresh new lines for Sephiroth.
*Some of Mr. Morikawa's lines for Sephiroth across other media with the proper bitrate suited for KH's soundfont and the like were rehashed, likely such as from KH2 and the Dissidia games.

Heartless Angel won't kill you even if you have 1 HP or don't have Second Chance. It always sets your HP to 1 and MP (and charge) to 0.
Still an attack you want to avoid at all costs

I’m trying sephiroth at LV1, no Damage as well at the moment. I got the Ultima weapon just like you, which was an ordeal itself - but how do you get past the first phase without taking damage? It’s too incalculable to go for a keyblade strike when he could just draw the fire pillars? How do you know perfectly when to use strike raid in order to avoid damag?
There's a set pattern to his flame pillar counter; Iirc it's like "counter at 4th consecutive strike" or something, which is why OP backs away after the third hit

I believe you did this at level 1 with no damage, but in your description its says you didnt use drugs either? that i dont believe, you must have been on drugs to do this

Sorry, it means I didn't use any status boosts ability.
We occasionally call doping for these boost items in Japan.
So I don't use cocaine as a matter of course.

Wouldn't Diamond Dust make it a bit easier with extra MP? I'm guessing you used Ultima Weapon for its range than, great job though ^_^
+Anthony O'Connor Ultima already gives ample MP, and has more reach and power.
At lv1 the strength doesn't matter because EXP0 scaling but yeah the reach is way better
@Destiny's Embrace Abilities? You mean like weapons in KH2? I'm a little confused.
Ultima compared to Diamond Dust is also impossible to deflect, allowing Sora to activate the Counterattack skill due to suffering from normal recoil more often on top of already giving 2 MP.
Diamond Dust while it offers more MP for magic, is one of the keyblades with the worst recoil durability, making any guarding or clashing cause Sora to stumble back a bit with no room to Counterattack with (Sephiroth's physical attacks all have near-maximum deflect ratings which require using keyblades that are "hard to deflect" in order to recoil from them normally).

In Japan, they refer to AP ups, Power Ups, Defense Ups and Magic Ups as drugs.

This looks like it's easy but you actually need to know what you're doing and the exact timing to strike. It's not just swinging your keyblade around and hoping to win.

The PS3 and PS4 versions of KH1 have a Proud-exclusive Ability called "EXP Zero". It makes it so that you do not gain experience (obviously) but also makes it to where you can deal decent damage to bosses and not get one-shotted (attacks can only do up to your Max HP - 1)
