I am an addict who has been clean since 2009 and i have met addicts from all walks of life. Strict parents, absent parents, good homes, bad homes, rich neighborhoods, housing projects all walls of life. The one common thread I've found between all of us is empathy and pain. Almost every single addict I've ever met is super empathetic and had had either trauma or some kind of pain that drugs immediately numbed! That is why some people can try every drug known to man and never get addicted and then someone like me who didn't even really drink did heroin once and couldn't put it down. And lost everything! I thought i found the answer to all my pain. It's good like that in the beginning. Then it showed it's true colors and takes your life and causes more pain. I'm so lucky I've managed to break that awful circle and put my life back together.

Thank you for sharing and yes, I agree, you are right. Pain has to be present in order to enter to this monstrous life. Jeffrey lost his brother (my older son) he committed suicide. Jeffrey always said that he missed him.
Congratulations on your recovery. I am also a recovering IV meth user. I have 2 years and months clean. I absolutely agree with you about pain and trauma is why ppl turn to drugs. I lost my husband/my children's father in 2011. We had been together 15 years. I turned to alcohol then pain pills then meth. To numb the pain. I was a functioning addict until 2 years after my husband died when my sister got killed. That when I went off the deep end. But thank God that my children never gave up on me. They are the very reason I am sober today. ❤

Wow this was powerful and uplifting after seeing so many that have passed away and have to listen to the grieving parents. My nephew got into drugs and had destroyed his life got into rehab and went straight for 6 months, gained weight was 6'3" 220 and perfect health. Then he found out his long term girlfriend got pregnant by another man and he O.D'd. They got him in the emergency room and the doctor gave him Narcan not once but 5 times, they finally declared him dead but the female doctor said, "This can't happen this young man looks too healthy we must not give up. So they did 6 then 7 they told her to stop but on the 8 they got a pulse. He stayed in ICU 9 days and eventually went to another recovery in another state. He stayed a year and then became a staff member for 2 years. He moved back to Florida and opened up his own company and started a recovery house and employs many past addicts and his super successful. He turned his life over to the Lord and speaks in churches and and gotten married and had his first child last month. He is a true inspiration to so many I pray for Jeffrey and his battle's ahead. Jeffery passed away early March of this year. My heart breaks for this mama 😢 such a huge fight to come back, a brave man and mama RIP Jeffery ❤

I'm late but a short of Jeffery came up on my feed so I came here to hear his story. I know Jeffery passed but he was a warrior!!! He did so much the doctors said he'd never do again because of the love & strength his parents gave him. His parents are amazing & I can't imagine the pain they feel losing Jeffery. I just hope they know Jeffery is always with them in their hearts & memories of him. I just know Jeffery watches over them from heaven above. Fly high Jeffery with the rest of God's angels.😇🕊🕊🕊🌹.
I'm blessed to have made it through addiction. Fentynal wasn't around like that when I was using. I have 20yrs clean but now have a son out there who loves fentynal & I'm scared for him but can do nothing but pray for him. Addiction to any substance is horrible & I pray for all who are dealing with it.
This woman is incredibly intelligent and a very thorough person. A detailed woman. And very inspirational. She’s could give speeches to huge audiences and make an impact with her method and tonality and story. And I agree with so much she said. I also just saw that she has a channel documenting Jeffrey’s journey. Y’all should follow. It Would be so cool to get her to monetization so they can just have any amount of additional income. I don’t even know that they NEED that but more cash for ESPECIALLY medical purposes, is always nice to have.
We are actually struggling financially speaking. But we keep going - many times like right now that we need to purchase many items for when Jeffrey gets home it is hard on us. I look all those items and at times even use are expensive and I want to be able to motivate Jeffrey doing daily therapies at home with right equipment. However we are relying on GOD to help us and provide for us.

She's a religious fanatic.
I am no longer religious, an athiest, in fact(raised catholic). However, her strength and her love for her faith is beautiful to listen to. She sounds like a wonderful mother who loves her baby. I can definitely see someone treating him unfairly for his love of his religion. Unfortunately, ppl can hate ppl for their views and unable to respect other views on all sides. It's disheartening. I'm so sad for what your son experienced.
I love all the love he recieved while in the hospital. It's always good to have a suport system after something so traumatic. He has a long way to go, but sounds like he has his faith and his army behind him.
Well don't give up on God. I dare you tio ask if he is real. I did. And he put scripture in the middle of my Amazon review. God wants to restore what was lost when Adam ate the tree. His image. He wants to put his spirit in you, to make you love him and others. And you must ask for him. Then you will physically feel a high pitched frequency. That is the seal of ownership. Then you must rely on his power to give you the ability to love, by asking to be lead by his spirit each new day. That's our purpose to bring him glory by the life we lived.
I agree. I’m not an atheist but more agnostic. Of course we must respect other people’s beliefs. I was once a Christian. I prayed and prayed and never got an appropriate answer. God is too complicated for me.
I found out I had to do things myself to accomplish anything.

What amazes me about this story is how godly & moral Jeffrey is described. Still he took one pill that has cost him and the family a lot. Let he who thinks he stand, take heed lest he fall. This can happen to anyone, even the most godly or moral person.
Yes! …. That was my point … WE ALL CAN FALL … no one is secure … no one should feel
SAFE … we all should WATCH our steps and associations … who we listen to … How we feel … One single wrong voice or person in our lives when we are down or feel cast out and we are DOOMED!!
He didn’t take a pill, he was doing meth and the meth had fentanyl in it.
But he also had a history of methods use.
@@loriannrichardson7644 that's what's really surprised me. I think he was not being totally honest with himself and it has cost him now. I pray he gets better. Just that with Fentanyl the cost is usually a very high one.

I am a recovering addict. 10/2015. My mom never shunned me, but she just acts like my addiction is/was non existent. Out of sight out of mind. I had to fight the good fight on my own, but I did it. I realized it was ME that had to fight it. It was my choice to take opiates. But I’d love to have her as my support system 😢❤❤❤❤
I can relate, my mom was the same way & it was her lost cause sobriety was the best gift I could of ever given her & she didn't recognize!❤🙏❤🌻
Same here but with my father, to him my addiction is/was non existent, to him it was like I had a situation and now Im over it he doesn’t realize Im a recovering addict! I do have to feel blessed that My mom was there from day 0, never gave up on me, as well as my husband and my 11 years old (hes like a lil grown man) tells me all the time how proud he is of me! You are blessed because you are sober and that is the best feeling in the world!!
I'm quite late on this comment so I don't know if you'll see this but I'm PROUD of you. Against the odds you did it on your own. Noone can take credit for that but you. If you haven't already found it, you'll find your people that will stick by you no matter where you're at. Your addiction is valid as well as your recovery. ❤

All I can say (as a former drug user and current addict) is don't ever give up on your children. Idc if they relapse 10 times you pick them up and put them in rehab 11 times. It will stick eventually.

In any circumstance, many people turn to drugs from depression, a bad childhood and you can't wave a wand and be better. Any way, this is all a test and it's designed to broaden our souls after we're gone. This life isn't the real world. Watch some NDE's and you see what I mean.

She is nothing short of amazing in her strength and positive thinking, along with all of the family and friends who have been supportive. Health care in the U.S., especially at this level, is not free of charge. I can only imagine the staggering medical bills that are pouring in, even with people who are willing to help, this type of event can wipe most people out financially.

Well, my mother who worked as a registered nurse for 40 years and is now retired and on Medicare, went to the hospital for absurdly high blood pressure and a mini stroke. A few days later she received a bill for 15 THOUSAND dollars for 1 half hour trip. She went to try and get Medicare part B and was told she'd have to wait until next January. She could be dead by then. So yea, our healthcare system is corrupt to the core and needs to be reworked. I'm conservative but I support Medicare for all. With all the money we're sending overseas we could easily afford it.

This wouldn't have been possible without it. It's easy to forget the things human beings can do to help others survive.
You forgot the.most important characteristic. Faith.. faith in our Lord that he will heal him in the name of Jesus Christ! Watch the proof our lord does his works!
He has no quality of life, it is very sad. His mom loves him that is clear but it is just a sad situation.
He is improving. It is a long, slow process, but there is progress.
Sad.
It was clear he wasn't going to recover.
This just lengthened his suffering.
This is exactly why the vast majority of adults want the plug pulled on them.
No miracle, just pain and suffering.
God wanted him home, but she wouldn't let God do his work, but turned to science and interfered in God's plan.
He went through so much pain and agony 😢

More surprising to me, is the claim that one knows the thoughts of the Almighty God, Creator of the Universe, as if our minds were possibly capable of comprehending His. I had a son die, and when you’re going through that situation, as a mother, you cannot predict how you will act unless you’re experiencing it yourself. And no mother needs the judgment of someone behind their keyboard, when she’s simply sharing her son’s story in an effort to help others. She powerfully bears her testimony of God, her faith in Him and does it unapologetically. She also states an extremely important truth by stating our country is under attack with this fentanyl pouring into our country. There’s simply nothing to criticize about this woman.

I just watched and am in tears. What an amazing Christian mother and woman she is. Sadly, I listened to doctors and discontinued life support after only 5 days for my son. I can't wait to see him again someday but I sure wish I would have had this woman's steadfast faith. An amazing story ❤

Jeffrey was just admitted In a hospital because he has been vomiting for weeks /// we just had made it to our next destination for recovery but he was so sick. They are checking everything to make sure we find the answers-- I pray will be something simple like GAS --

Curse that wretched substance to hell. It was never necessary to invent that with the already gigantic variety of other drugs to choose from for any need
Really seriously??!! You do realize that Fentanyl is the main drug they use in hospitals. Under "doctors" orders it's a pain medication that helps better than other drugs. DON'T get me wrong I believe fentanyl shouldn't be on the streets and in the hands of ANYONE but doctors!!

What a testimony! God is truly great and is STILL a Miracle-working God!! 🙌🏻My daughter is a walking miracle (ATV accident at age 14- she is going to be 21 in august).. 31 days in the hospital with 18 of those in the PICU enduring 5 skull fractures, a brain stem bleed, a torn carotid artery, a collapsed lung, aspiration pneumonia, and a subdural hematoma that covered the entire left side of her brain. I had determined in the ER that night that she was not the doctors’, she was not ours but she was (and still is) God’s! No matter what report we got about her condition, there were prayers being spoken over her all over the world proclaiming her miracle would come and it did! I told anyone who would listen from day one that she would walk out of that hospital on her own and she did! Keep testifying and holding onto your faith, strong warrior mama! God’s not through with your son’s story! 💜

I worked in a nursing home where a 22 year old woman overdosed her parents insisted on doing cpr after a prolonged time and she was brain damaged. Feeding tube, ventilator to breathe, wears a diaper. Living doll really would of been better to let her die. Sometimes just cause you want them to live doesn't mean he has quality of life

It’s very inappropriate to comment on how a parent cares for their loved ones after an incident. It’s their decision & we should respect that. Based on your comment, you shouldn’t have been working in a Nursing Home, i wouldn’t be comfortable with your type of care with that attitude.

I pray that Jeffery continues on the road recovery. His mother's love and strength along with her faith in God defied the doctor's prognosis. God bless you and your family, your strength is incredible. Maybe you will open a channel to keep us posted on his success in recovery. I wished schools would show this and several of these videos to middle school and high school students in an assembly once a quarter, once a year wouldn't be enough which has become such an important topic in our lives today.
The doctors had it right all along.
He finally passed after months of agony.
I wouldn't want to go through what he did. That's why I have said pull the plug.
He has hus piece now.
What an inspirational story of a mother's love and sheer tenacity in the face of what seemed to be almost impossible odds, against not only the devastating effects of a near-death overdose but also the medical establishment that would have given Jeffery up as a hopeless case, and simply let him die in the name of 'compassion'. May God bless Jeffery, on his journey to recovery Also his courageous mum, for fighting so hard, for her son's survival.

You are an amazing mother. Your heart is full of love and determination. Many people would have given up hope and just took the word of doctors and believed them. Doctors told me in 2001 that my mother would not survive after having a massive heart attack and that I needed to bring in family to say our goodbyes ...I told them I would not and that they needed to do whatever they needed to bring her back . Within 2 WEEKS my mother was on a transplant list for a donor heart, transported to Cleveland clinic and a perfect match for a new heart was found!!! She was back living home and back to herself by 2 months!!! Believe in God and have faith❤️
