Hello Everyone, This is how to replace the indoor ambient thermistor for a Friedrich ptac unit. Thanks for watching! Like and subscribe for more content.
Dave, this is great, thank you. Do you find that the replacement thermistors are pretty standard with board connectors for different models? I have a PDE15K5SD unit, but I can only find replacement thermistors for the SF and SG series PDEs. Do you think the thermistor for either of these would fit my SD series control board?
Dave thanks for the great video's. I have the same unit but My heating elements are not kicking in. I have checked resistant's on the elements and they all check good. I checked the thermistor and it checked good. I did change the control board and still no heat from the heating elements. The heat pump does come on but when its cold outside it goes into freeze protection. I have reset it and do hear the relays kick in to the relays but they kick back out. Do you think the logic board is bad and how to by bass it to tell? Thanks! David
Hello Did you check continuity from the wiring at the control board? Usually its either the comtrol board or the heater assembly(limit switches or coil). In some rare occasions the wiring may be the problem
Is there a fuse box in the Frederick heaters mine is blowing only cold air even though it’s set on heat. Just started doing this about. Week ago I came home and it started blowing cold air.
@@PtacSolutions yes just to see how to troubleshooting that model I am having trouble troubleshooting that model for heating like for example that ptac is just blowing cool air and I check heating element replaced heating element still blowing cool air with this model if you have any ideas or if you just show it on a video of the helpful thank you
Great video amigo gracias.
Hotel that i Work for are switching to this units your videos will help me a lot thank you

Thanks for getting back with me @@PtacSolutions
Do you have any videos on diagnosing why this unit isn’t blowing heat?
Hello
Not yet

Hello
No they don't, would you be able to do a continuity test on the heater assembly?
So this is for E5 error code?
Great video dude!! Have you ever ran into one of these units displaying an A2 error code?
Can you tell me, please, what should the temperature be of the air coming right from the vent when heat is on full blast? In degrees
You should have a discharge between 140 to 180° f
@@PtacSolutions oohhhh that’s hot Thank you

Hey William
Is that a GE unit?
@@PtacSolutions yes
Does that unit have heating coils or ceramic
@@PtacSolutions heating coils
Ok, can you follow them to the board and disconnect them, should be 4 of them if I'm not mistaken
