Dude, I’m crying. I’m a Korean American, and my grandma used to tell me stories of the Japanese occupation of Korea, actual horror stories. Bodies in the street, women being used in the streets with lines of Japanese soldiers behind waiting for their turn, and just horrible ethnic violence and discrimination. Thank god she was a child at the time so see wasn’t treated that badly by the Japanese, but the Japanese representative of Lust just brought back so many horrible memories, plus, with my grandma’s passing last year, it really hurt. It’s so annoying that the meme of people forgetting Japan’s crimes is real. Either way, glad Japan is finally being recognized as what it stood for.
