There was an old McDonald's that's shut down now, but it had an arcade as the play area with knock off games made by McDonald's and it had all the old characters and it was so AMAZING! I wish it was still running

These ads are surrealism masterpieces
The first Mac Tonight commercial actually is called carnival. The second one is Spinning Burger, and the last one is Stars. Spinning Burger started airing in 1986 and for the other 2, they aired in ‘87. They’re are LOTS of Mac Tonight commercials released in 1986 and 1987, like Clock Tower. as a kid, I always loved that Ronald McDonald was always so energetic and happy. And that's why I would pretty much jump around like a chicken whenever I saw him in an ad.

grimace, birdie & hamburglar got redesigned in 1986
Some of these commercials (Ronald meets big Mac, for example) had to be around 1980 (if they were from the 80's at all), due to the less modernized look of the costumes. I remember Hamburglar and Grimace having the modern look, as early as '83.

Plus, Officer Big Mac was retired in the early 80s due to legal reasons with the Krofts. He wouldn't have been around during this era.

i can't find that mcdonalds commercial where ronald mcdonald and the school students are in a class room and ronald takes them on a field trip to outer space and they float all the way to the ceiling.
They were still on the It's A Good Time for the great taste song during this era.
