I concur what you said about the massive manual and the small glove box. I had to use the storage space under the double passenger seat, as this has a large space area.
You’re right that green is beautiful. Have to I’ve found the same problem with the book pack not fitting in the glove box in a T6, not a Cali but a highline.
You two definitely have a talent for the review "it wasn't my waters breaking" LOL. Keep them coming and good luck Lizzie with the life changing event, has Shaun sorted the extra cot out for the van? If Cali Camper Family can do it with 3 one will be easy.

Frank Field It’s a matter, of HOW MANY they might sell, then parts ,+ import duties , more than 25%. then you can see why , this models engine looks as though it’s a BLUETEC clean diesel ,, there is a VW AMORAK, comes as a chassis, a2dr pickup, &a 4dr crew cab, 3litre V 6 Bluetek, diesel 6 spd manual,,or automatic, also a matching cap for pickup, they sell worldwide EXCEPT NORTH AMERICA
IT HAS ELECTRIC WINDOWS & locks A/C, THE import tax is burdomsome from LBJ, to protect the US built PICKUPS . Cheers 🇩🇪🇺🇸

Great review Lizzie and Bentley😂, Along time ago I was in the army in a tank regiment and I have roamed all of Salisbury plain on exercise in a tank., which is in my opinion the best off road Campervan you can get lol. Looking forward to your comparison review 👍
As someone who lives on Salisbury plain, I can say, you get used to the explosions after a while
You should be Design consultants for the VW California, for improvements and features , further crowdsourced from loyal viewers! I nominate the ability to run the AirCon while being plugged in without the engine running! ( butagaz connection outside for outside cooking?)
Good to see you out reviewing again. I was watching this thinking "what is the difference to the ocean" good to know there will be a follow up. Also nice to see that the van dash has finally caught up and moved out of the 1990's. Incidentally, my Renault has the same glovebox problem, when the moved the controls over to RH drive they didn't move the fuse box. I have a half size glove box....with a full size hatch on it. Guessing VW did something similar

Sliding door on Drivers side is a big design flaw for right hand drive vehicle.
Cant believe its not mentioned more. Its a massive game changer for me.
thanks for the review, and didn't realise there was a "budget" model between the Beach and Ocean now, so that's interesting to know (looking forward to the next video of the comparison between the Coast and Ocean)... Have to say though, for £55k, do you think there is £10k of value between this and the VanWorx Nomad you reviewed recently? Apart from slightly larger engine and DSG gearbox in the California, I really don't see a great deal of difference - plus probably more customisation options on a conversion. interested in your thoughts...; which did you prefer?

I really like this van. What neat hide a way things it has.
So, the whole thing comes down to do you need the complications of a caravan or a class a Motörhome or are you a simpler campervan type and how far do you want to go in either direction. With the disparity in incomes the value direction seemS to be available to more of us Than the class A Route
Sleeping upstairs very much depends on how cold it gets at night. You don’t even have to have folks sleeping upstairs to make it impossible to stay in your van.
This is a huge difference between pop tops and solid roof campervans.
Great review. I’m torn between the Coast and the Ocean, the only thing I’d have to buy for the Coast is LED Headlights and tinted glass as those standard Coast lights kill it.

He will sleep on the bottom of the bed. It’s a squeeze if everyone is using the bed. We’ve not done this since Harvey was born though.

I don't know what's happened to the price of these, but we just looked at a few and the cheapest was £68k! and that's second hand from VW.
this exact california coast is for sale now on autotrader at £61995..now a year old and same price as a new one..

You said you got limo tints privacy glass - where does one get that done? Like you, we need to keep inside private as we have three dogs. I have no idea why I watch these videos. VW has no intention of selling these vans in North America or Canada and it's such a disappointment. I had hoped Mercedes would fill that gap and take advantage but no such luck. Anyway, nice to see you guys again, and congrats.
Looks to me the only difference between an Ocean and a Coast is the Ocean has an electric rootop. Have I missed something?
I love your videos but I’m just staggered at the price of these vans.. you could stay in a lot of very nice hotels!
Thing is, a lot of nice hotels are not located where you can stay in this 👍

Hello, big fans of yours! Quick question, which are the two or three most impressive Transporter converter companies that you have visited? I'm taking the plunge and I need a customised van because I need to work from it and I need various special bits and pieces installing....any pointers really appreciated. Keep the videos coming!

You might be thinking of the Beach, which didn’t come with a kitchen unit. The Coast is a cost saving version of the Ocean.

Does the air-conditioner work off mains power when plugged in at a caravan park for example?
Unfortunately not. The engine has to be running

I saw on the control panel that there is air-conditioning does that run while the engine is off
No I’m afraid not. It refers to the control for the rear air conditioning unit (which climatises the back of the van when it’s driving) although this model didn’t actually have that specified.

It does in our T5 California. You have to slide the seat forward to make the bed so I'd imagine it would be the same.

I cannot for the love of me understand why these vans are so popular and seen as high class high end all mod cons without a toilet and shower , this is the emperors has no clothes or bitcoin completely useless for the price
