    • Video
    This video is back here.
This video is about my crab tank setup. The crab in this video are red apple crab or metasesarma aubryi. They are land crab and so we need to provide land area here. This tank setup is like semi paludarium with plants and waterfall. The plants here are bucephalandra red catherine, bucephalandra crocodile, aridarum sp and moss, probably java moss.
The filter in this video is my DIY shallow tank filter. If you are intersted in making one yourself, here is the video on how to do that:

Thank you for quitting. this is the right decision.
    I really like this.
Your builds look good and you are a brilliant scaper. But you do not know anything about the animals, making you a bad role model.
The tank is too small at all for this kind of animal. These crabs have no way of digging. But they usually live in small, self-dug burrows.
Here they cannot pursue this urge.
Plus they will probably eat the silicone and die.
There is also no bowl with minerals or salt water. This is especially important for mating since most crabs are mangrove animals.
As I said, no offense meant. However, as an influencer, you have a responsibility and have not yet fulfilled this role.
I'm pleased about your change. I really respect that.
You will definitely have more success in your other projects.
I wish you the very best.

    • @CoretanIjo
      @CoretanIjo  Před 8 měsíci +3

I think you are confusing them with another species. Red apple crab isn't brackish water crab. Don't keep them in brackish water. They do migrate to the sea each year to spawn, but they live in land full of fresh water. No recorded success of breeding in captivity.
They do burrowing to molt, but never stay in their burrow. They are migrating species, so yeah, you may be right on the tank size, but no one can provide an entire island to keep these crabs at home.
They won't eat silicone. They are not that strong to break cured silicone. Also, they can even distingush edible and non edible plants. I don't see any possibility that they will eat silicone.
I would say not all crab need the same requirement. It's better to judge something like this based on the specific species of the crab. Ie, keeping vampire crab in brackish water is cruel for them since they are fully fresh water species.

I really do not have a bad meaning. It just seems, that there is a lot of knowledge missing.
All I said is, that they need saltwater to breed and to stay healthy.
A group of 3-5 Crabs needs at least a 60-90x90-60cm tank. that is the minimum.
They try to cut silicone normally if they can reach it. because they will try to eat everything and silicone tastes lightly sweet.
Of course, not all crabs need the same requirement. That's right.
I owned over 1300 different animals in my Store and they all need different things to stay healthy.
Because of that it is very important to know the needs of every animal very well.
To be very clear. Nobody said they had to be kept in salt water. All they need is a small dish (a bottle cap, a puddle, etc.) with salt water in addition to their freshwater pool to meet their needs and release the larvae.

There's no mark about that. Just rely on your knowledge. That being said, I can only tell about freshwater.
For styrofoam, only use plain styrofoam. The fire retardant agent may harm animals.
Don't use any plastic marked as 'biodegradable'. That's low quality plastic.

@@daniardian5301 No 1-2 Kalau niatnya main parameter air, jangan pakai bahan alami. Sekalian pakai bahan kimia. CaCl2, MgCl2/MgSO4, KSO4 buat GH. Baking soda buat KH. Bahan alami ga bisa diprediksi.
      3. Saya ndak pernah pakai bakteri starter.

Tanaman kuat selamanya tergantung dimakan kepiting atau engga. Ga perlu perawatan ekstra. Fokus aja melihara kepiting.
