Hi Bob, Been watching for a long time and thought I'd use your videos to help pick out my gear as I finally got certified last month since I moved to Grand Cayman from Ohio. I ended up letting Chris and Rex at Diver's Supply recommend all our gear and my wife got the xtx50 and I got the XL4 along with Axiom BCD. Our first dive with our own gear was Sunday and it was a real treat not wearing rental gear. Diving was a dream of mine in high school that I let fade away, but I'm glad I finally took it up. Thanks for all the videos and happy holidays!

Hey James, Congratulations on the Cert ! It's always fun hearing about people's journeys into Scuba diving. Grand Cayman, sounds like a pretty tough first dives, LOL just kidding, what great fun I'm sure you both had there.
Plus having the Axiom and excellent regs really put the icing on the cake.
Doing the videos is something I enjoy beyond words and having folks like yourselves watching and commenting is the icing for me.
Thanks for your comments and do be safe, enjoy the underwater world. Bob C

      Hi James,
I plan on buying my first regulatory and I’m torn between the xtx50 and XL4, if you can help me out with which one do you/your wife like more.

@@malakbins7896 we did one dive so far. We both liked ours. She likes the xtx50 because it's lighter and smaller. Hope that helps!

Thank you for the thorough review! There is a reviewer from Japan whose review alternates between showing the second stages with mint and yellow mouthpieces and plain black. The colorful mouthpieces that match the regulators look really nice, and more interesting than black. Do the extra mint and yellow mouthpieces come in the box? If not, can they be ordered from Apeks?
And do the hoses to the second stages have any kind of swivel? If not, is there an adaptor you recommend to reduce jaw fatigue?
    Thanks!

They don't come in the box BUT personally I suggest people get a molded mouthpiece sssooooo much better. Bob C There are swivel adapters out there too.

Would you be able to share the weight of the full second stage, octo, and first stage of the XL4 setup please? Thanks Bob!

Hi team, Any one had issues with the XL4 ocea from Apeks free flowing at depth in cold waters ? It is supposed to be a cold water approved reg but I had a free flow at 41m in 09°C yesterday just trying to found out what happened ….

I dive the white XL4 and it's a quality reg. It's never failed me but I have failed it as the operator.
Do not breath from the reg while dry before cold dive it will freeze up.
I made the mistake thinking that it was OK to test my regs on the surface, which only put warm breath thru my reg which froze up at shallow depth last Nov.
I'll also soak my gear first so it can get adjusted to the water just like I wet my face to adjust
